Pionk is a surprise. There’s no way he makes it but nice to see him get a shot.
They benched KFC, they don’t deserve him
No invite for Samberg is a good thing for Team Canada.
From the article:
“Earlier this month we learned that a pair of Jets had been invited to Team Canada’s orientation camp and today we learned a another trio of players for the NHL club of Winnipeg have been invited to USA Hockey’s orientation camp for the 2026 Olympics in Italy which are set to take place next February.”
… so 5 total?! What a sentence.
Time is a factor in how some d men balance out. While Pionk has had high highs and some lower lows, his hockey IQ will grow in his contract length (hockey related Ron, harmonic etc), that’s just defensive responsible hockey play, his offence is a catalyst for us now and then. I am not saying that he needs great improvement, but time grinds down the misses/ shortcuts and enhances vision/ opportunities.
Personally, I’d love to see him and Samberg take it to the next degree, but USA hockey… Probably doesn’t have this up their sleeve.
