  1. Astros have gone through a lot of slumps in the last 10 years. Even the all powerful 2019 offense had some pretty bad slumps. This is easily the worst I can remember. We aren’t just getting blanked, we are barely making contact half the time. Most slumps involve a bit of bad luck, but there isn’t much bad luck here. The entire team just can’t hit the ball.

  2. July 1985. The last time we were shutout in 3 consecutive games. 40 years. Tomorrow we chase the 62 year old franchise record of 4 straight.

Edit: The Astros have never been shutout 4 in a row, but the Colt .45’s have.

  3. This team is absolutely putrid right now. I hope this is the wake up call Crane and Brown need to fire our hitting coaches.

  4. Welp. Big tree has fallen hard. There isn’t a single thing to be excited for with this team right now. “At least the Mariners lost” won’t save them during the playoffs, if they even make it at this rate. And Alex Cintron…. how the hell do you still have a job?

  5. All I have to say is thank you, Phillies. You’re the only reason we are still in this division

  6. There will be no more runs for the rest of this season. This is an 80-game team. This Astros team is too old to handle 162 games and the playoffs.

  7. I can be angry at ALOT of people tonight on the Astros.

I choose to be mad at New York and the home umpire for being fucking Neanderthals and calling a piss poor game that should have been a 1-0 win in regulation.

Yes, still no excuse for being scoreless for, what, 28 innings now? But we broke that streak in the 4th and weren’t rewarded for it. So, that’s what I choose to be pissed the fuck off about.

  8. Man…I don’t even mind the losing or the bad few weeks (that’s baseball, Susan) but these games recently have just been so, so, so bad. Just not even a tiny bit of fun. 🙁

  9. Be honest what team can we beat right now? I’d put money on the Rockies vs us. I don’t think I’ll watch tomorrow to maintain any sort of sanity

  10. The sword needs to fall after this one. There are many different people it could fall on, coaches or players, but this cannot continue as is.

  11. You had your catcher set up middle of the zone on a 3-2 where you had no choice but to throw into the zone…

And you miss outside by a country mile.

We are lucky that the rest of the division is trying to outsuck us.

  13. I’ve disliked our offensive approach for years, but this is a new low. I can’t remember a stretch this bad since the 100 loss years, and even then we didn’t get shut out 3 games in a row. Cintrón needs to go.
