Remember those 17 missed games by JB brought the rise of number 1 option OG
To be fair, the rest of the offense was better without JB on the court. OG and Mikal flourished when he wasn’t on the court. I really hope that was because Thibs offense was 1 dimensional and Mike Brown will be able to get everyone involved.
And when JB played we left like 5-10 games on the floor. Games we should have won. Could have won and would have won if Thibs made better coaching decisions.
Oh my god, I swear I just had a dream where fee players leaving our team, specially OG. And was worrying how we going to survive.. I still love baseball more but can’t wait for new season for the Knicks and see how critics trying to lowball us.
And hopefully our fan base doesn’t overreact…
I mean our major competitor in the odds is Cleveland who we still match up better against.
Orlando will be the fun exciting team if they can stay healthy
Outside of that we should beat the east
51 wins is cool until you run into the 8th seed again.
If we are healthy and don’t make a finals then I want to clean house
Since when was it ever about the regular season? Only requirement for the regular season is A) stay healthy for the playoffs and B) Stay out of the play-in.
Playoffs a whole different animal.
I still think if KAT doesn’t play defense we aren’t winning a chip. It comes down to matchups, there’s a reason why random role players can outplay stars
Leon did great landing a scoring G plus a floor stretching big, but we still need to find a genuine floor general type of backup PG; the most glaring need.
We did ok without JB but having Mitch back will make a bigger difference because of his D
I recall the team playing very well without JB in that stretch that he missed. IMO it was a good thing, and they played with more flow and moved the ball. It wasn’t that standard Thibs calling for JB to run down the clock for 18-20 seconds hero ball nonsense. Love JB but didn’t love the lack of ball movement throughout the season.
I’m not concerned so much about adding wins because Brunson missed games. I’m more concerned about adding wins because we have a better roster, a coach that fits better, and actually not going 0-16 vs the Celtics, Cavs, Thunder, Lakers, Clippers, and Warriors
I for one thought the OG Knicks were pretty damn good
We started every half with a suboptimal lineup playing suboptimalbasketball vs every good team last year too. And vs every teem after January 1st
Like the ceiling next year is extraordinarily high if we get decent health outcomes, and brown takes care of some low hanging fruit thibs left on the vine
