GIANTS POSTCAST: ANOTHER SERIES LOSS TO PADRES as Disappointment Reigns in The Bay
The San Francisco Giants dropped yet another series after losing to the San Diego Padres today, 8-4 at Petco Park. Justin Verlander was hit hard in his 22nd start of the season, as he gave up seven runs in just 4.1 innings pitched. While the San Francisco Giants were able to score a bit more today than they have in recent games, they were gifted a couple of runs by the San Diego Padres early on and failed to capitalize on what could have been a huge third-inning rally. With the loss, they are now six games under .500.

Schmitt had four errors in Padre series. His and Matos 5th inning errors unraveled the game, and Chapman can't get back quick enough. Being a utility player with no cohesion or consistency where you'll play day to day makes baseball a cruel, anguishing game.
