  1. I’m a year behind on The Show, still playing 24, and I just traded for this guy in my franchise last week to be my backup catcher behind Campusano. His first start he went 3-4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBIs. So obviously he’s good and worth the money

  2. Dang, this has to be a record for how quickly after call-up such an extension was signed. Before, a small-market team (Orioles theoretically closer to mid-market) would wait a full year or so, at least. Certain amount of backfire potential.

  3. So doesn’t this signal they’re letting Rutschman go (which is itself inexplicable)? I have to question the wisdom of doing this now, seems completely unnecessary at best. Likely it bites them one way or another.

  4. This just in, Orioles have trade Rutschman at the 2026 trade deadline for a trio of top pitching prospects

  5. This is how you build a strong team. Lock your young talent up on contracts that are gonna be a steal in a couple of years.
