  1. Hot take. Any claim that one of the two is better than the other is pretty baseless this early in their careers when they are still so far from their skill ceilings

  2. I’m a massive San Jose fan. Definitely prefer Celebrini over Bedard. That said, the hate for Bedard is undeserving but understandable. He has an edgy attitude, his number is one off the great one, and he was over pressured by the league and media to preform.

Mark my words, if he puts up 50 goals <40 assists or something like that they will start calling him selfish

  3. A lot of the discourse about them is nonsense because it's too early in their careers and any number of things could go right or wrong. That being said, I'm glad there's this rivalry developing between the Sharks and Blackhawks. Need to run back that 2010 WCF in a few years with these cores. Kind of hard to have good rivalries when you're at the bottom of the league

  4. celebrini has a higher ceiling imo. more skilled overall and is already elite defensively. bedard has leaps and bounds to be as good as celebrini. bedsy could pot 50 on a good team. but celebrini isnt ever a liability.

  5. Good take, and no one here in Chicago hates Bedard, but his complete game is lacking, forget about the teams lack of talent,a complete hockey player is just that!I know he is young, but the hype hurts him immensely!

  6. the only thing that made connor bedard a generational talent was the media hype before he got to the league. thats it. if you havent noticed kids are putting up insane numbers in juniors now because those leagues simply arent close to what they used to be. the points mean nothing. when i watch bedard all i see is a kid who is a deer in the headlights in the nhl skating around like its still his childhood teams he dominated. he gets knocked down easily. he looks scared to me honestly. height doesnt matter when you have that fuckin dog in you, look at cole caufield, johnny gaudreau, martin st louis, daniel briere, etc. connor is out here throwing hissy fits and i havent seen a more annoying attitude on the ice/bench ever. after he scores, no smile. just the annoying ice im too good to even be here look on his face. ffs u have generation players like mcdavid, matthews ovechkin, etc. ur in the nhl, act like ur grateful to be there and fuckin smile and celly, get the team excited to play with you. in my opinion he needs to spend a good amount of time in the minors to be humbled and come back grateful to be in the nhl. macklin celebrini IS the better player and hes smiling, enjoying his success, making his team have fun and get better. if i was on bedards team id be saying fuck this kid is no fun and i hate playing on his team. i dont even want the team to do well because then he'd have success lol. big bedard hater here. still like him off the ice as a person, but his on ice attitude is the most annoying thing ever. he is not and never will be a generational talent in the nhl ever btw.

  7. PEOPLE ITS MUCH HARDER FOR ANY 18-19 YR OLD TO BE GREAT COMING OUT OF JUNIOR TODAY THAN WHEN CROSBY AND OVI CAME UP IN 2004-2005 .

BEDARD IS LIKE OVI A VERY TALENTED AMAZING SHOT CENTRE. CELEBRINI IS MORE LIKE CROSBY . BOTH ARE ON EXTREMELY SHITTY TEAMS.

    IF I WAS
KYLE DAVIDSON HAWKS GM I WOULD LOOK AT WHAT AND WHO YOU COULD GET FOR BEDARD . AT LEAST 3 VERY GOOD PLAYERS AND 2 GOOD PLAYERS

THEY COULD GET AT LEAST 4-5 PLAYERS 3 FORWARDS AND 1-2 DEFENCE OR MAYBE 3 VERY GOOD PLAYERS A GOOD GOALIE AND DRAFT PICK.

CHICAGO WOULD BENEFIT FOR BETTER BY TRADING HIM IF THE DEAL WAS RIGHT. CHICAGO IS AT VERY MINIMUM 4-6 YEARS FROM MAKING THE PLAYOFFS.

YES I REALIZE BEDARD IS A CASH COW FOR HAWKS MERCHANDISE $$$$$$ BUT IF YOU GOT 4-5 VERY GOOD PLAYERS YOU COULD MAKE PLAY OFFS IN 1-2 YEARS. I AM SUREAT AT LEAST 10-12 TEAMS WOULD BE KNOCKING AT THE HAWKS DOOR . HAWKS HAVE BIG DECISIONS TO MAKE.

  8. You're a year off about Celebrini's age. He was 18, not 19, in his rookie season. He was only 17 when he led NCAA in scoring. That's what made Celebrini that much more astonishing the last two years. He only now turned 19 this summer.

  9. Going to Celibrinis' first season home games with season tickets I convinced my wife were life and death to obtain, are definitely one of those lifetime highlight moments.

  10. As a Sharks fan – context is sooo important here – Celebrini literally had a younger team around him that could grow alongside him as well as good veterans. Bedard had none of that and has a team that is a mid tier AHL team at it best around him, of course Celebrini is going to look amazing. And I guarantee you Celebrini will have a more difficult sophomore season – teams will adjust to him and study his game much more. And then all outlets will say Celebrini is a bust or something along those lines, Bedard will be the next Ovechkin with his filthy shot and timing – he will be fine.
