Cleveland Browns QB Room: Flacco Steady, Gabriel Impressive & Questions Swirl Around Shedeur Sanders

The Cleveland Browns wrapped up their preseason against the Los Angeles Rams, and the quarterback storylines didn’t disappoint. Joe Flacco looked like the steady veteran this team needs, controlling the offense with poise. Rookie Dillon Gabriel impressed once again, flashing confidence and composure in big spots. Both quarterbacks gave Browns fans reasons to feel encouraged heading into Week 1.

But not everything was smooth. Shedeur Sanders struggled to find rhythm, taking sacks and missing opportunities to showcase his playmaking ability. And when the Browns had a chance to run a two-minute drill late in the game, Kevin Stefanski turned to Tyler Huntley instead of Shedeur. Was that the right move to protect a young QB, or a missed chance to accelerate his development?

Meanwhile, GM Andrew Berry continues to show faith in Sanders. On the broadcast, he praised Shedeur’s toughness and how quickly he’s picking up the language of the offense. Berry also doubled down that keeping four quarterbacks wasn’t much of a decision, insisting all four “have done what we asked.” With the preseason over, the Browns’ QB room is set — but the questions around Shedeur aren’t going anywhere.

From Flacco’s leadership, to Gabriel’s upside, to Shedeur’s future — we break it all down from a Cleveland perspective.
