[StadiumRant] Tommy Devito listed as top performer in week 3, What do we think happens with him?

  1. He’s either cut or traded. He had a good week 3 preseason but he’s not replacing Winston as the backup, he’s not replacing Dart, and he’s not replacing Russ.

  2. I can see him being put on the practice squad or traded.

It’s more likely that Jameis is traded though and we keep the hometown kid who doesn’t cost as much

  3. Won’t make the final 53. Practice squad for the giants, unless someone else signs him to their active roster.

  4. Would they ever carry 4 QBs? Probably not. It’s gonna suck when he’s cut and then signs as QB2/3 with some other team. He’s good enough.

  5. After he is cut, Tommy is getting picked up by another team. There was a lot of bad qbs competing for back up or 3rd string roles thru preseason that DeVito looked way better than. If he some how isn’t picked up, he will be on our practice squad.

  6. I don’t see any reasonable path for him making this team. The only possible way he’s wearing a NYG uniform by the time the season starts is if he’s on the practice squad and even that’ll be a stretch because other teams will want him on their main roster.

He may be our QB4 but he could be many other teams QB3 or even QB2. We’ll probably end up trading him for a very minor return like trading Tommy and a 7th rd pick for a 6th rd pick

  7. I really think trading Winston for another quality O lineman or WR is the move that should be made.

  8. They’ll try to get him to the practice squad but he has to pass waivers. That’s not happening so unless a trade can be made he’s gone.

  9. Stays on practice squad. Nobody picks him up because it’s a pain to have to teach a new qb a whole new offense even if it’s at the start of the season.

  10. The only way he doesn’t get cut is if someone comes in and overpays for Jameis.

    It’s not personal, it’s just business. 🤌

DeVito jerseys are probably still going to get you more high-fives at MetLife and Giants bars in five years than a S****n jersey will.

  11. Trade jameis because he would have more value for another position of need. I like Jameis but I’m sure many teams can use another backup.

  12. I definitely think he’s played well enough to be a backup on some team that needs one. Like if the giants had a good team, and the starter got hurt, I would definitely think “Tommy can win some of these games and keep the season on track”

  13. Jets should sign him. Theres no need for a 4th QB. If we get to QB4 on the depth chart, it means the season went tragically wrong.

  14. He’s not making the team and everyone knows that. But I do think the chances of a team plucking him from our PS will be VERY high. He’s shown that he can at least function as a QB. The odds of him staying on our team will be quite low this season and damn near impossible for next season (unless the front office elevates him as QB2 behind Dart).

  15. Wishful thinking: trade him to the Jets. Let him stay in the area, have a legit shot at being QB2, and still gets to do the Tommy Cutlets stuff. We get a late round pick from our stadium tenants.

  16. Vikings just traded Sam Howell and a 2026 6th to the Eagles for a 2026 5th and a 2027 7th.

We’d probably get less than that for Cutlets.

  17. He’s the worst thing you’d want. A frisky QB3 who could win meaningless games out of no where and make you miss on a generational QB in the draft
