Ha-Seong Kim’s contract decision will have a big impact on Rays’ plans

He’s gonna opt-in, and it’s gonna hurt us. This deal was only good if he stayed healthy past his return date, but he hasn’t so it’ll be a no-brainer to take $14.5M again
Hopefully they can just trade him away for a pack of peanuts
Is there any reason why he’d opt out?
If he is healthy, is there any positive spin on him playing second and trading B Lowe? Not that I would want to necessarily, but what would the club do?
We don’t know the budget of the new owners which also means we don’t know what the impact of HSK’s players option will have on Rays’ plans. The article makes some major assumptions like the new owners are going to run the org just like Stu.
I personally have no problem having him one more season. Might as well.
Our two big offseason acquisitions: One traded at the deadline after being mid and the other has played 24 games and will make way too much money next season.

Peace out Stu thanks for nothing.
