I’ve wanted a set of Astrodome seats for years, but they never really come up for sale anymore (and everyone I know with a set says they’re handing it down to their kids). I ran across this pair of Loge seats online and the seller was fairly close to me, so he graciously offered them to my house today- apparently he worked for the Texans and got first pick before the actual auction, which explains why this is probably one of the cleanest sets I’ve seen (no refinishing, just some spot cleaning).
I grew up going to games at the Dome with my dad and we sat in Loge many times, so we’re looking forward to watching games in the seats we watched them in 30 years ago. I’ve been like a kid on Christmas all afternoon lol.

I once saw Jose Canseco hit a ball into the loge level in warm ups for the 1986 all star game. Up to that point in my life, I’d never seen a ball hit that hard. It stayed on a line straight into the left field loge section without losing any noticeable velocity. I’d seen plenty of balls hit into the mezzanine level and they were all on their way back down when they hit the seats, but Canseco’s shot was an absolute piss missile.
Makes me a bit sad to see posts like this, my late uncles basement had about 6 of the orange seats in his billiard room before it flooded. Just a shame to see stuff like this go to the other world.
