According to an NHL source, Hutson’s snub is partly tied to his role at the World Championship. If you’re a Habs fan or follow NHL prospects, you don’t want to miss this deep dive into the Hutson storyline that’s heating up ahead of training camp.

  1. For a supposed smart hockey market why are so many crying about Hutson being “snubbed” over an orientation camp that likely includes very little to no on ice drills for a kid who lives at the rink ?

Some were thinking there could be a Sophomore slump

I don’t think Hutson is going to cry about not getting invited

I think he will only use this as extra drive this season

I wasn’t worried about a sophomore slump and sure as shit ain’t worried about a camp in Summer when there are 3 months of NHL hockey to play before the Olympic rosters are set

With strong play and injuries to current invitees he can be called in one thing is for sure, I think Hutson will come out swinging right out of the gates

Even if he isn’t finally invited, if you are team USA how many offensive D under 6’ do you need

If you have a Quinn Hughes and a Werenski do you really need a Hutson or should you focus on big shut down D’s to balance out the D corps

What very little people are saying is how team USA has such a spoil of riches on Defense that a guy like Hutson may not even be on it

To me today, Hutson is much more important to Habs than to team USA

If he makes this Olympic roster cool, good for him, if not, who cares he’s 21 years old there will be many more opportunities for him to represent his country

With Suzuki, Dobson, Monty, Caufield, Slaf, Laine maybe even Kapanen all possibly going to Olympics how many players do you wish risking injury while not playing on Habs in a year we all want them to improve on last season ?

Hutson is wired different I have never seen a rookie D do what he did in my life, come in and completely change the team dynamic, driving play, getting better as the season goes along, many rookies fall flat in second half and he only got better.

I would prefer Hutson play 82 regular season games this season be close to a point a game, help the team make playoffs over going to Olympics and maybe play maybe sit, maybe risk injury

The IOC is one of the most corrupt organizations in sports yeah I’ll watch best on best hockey but there will be other tournaments hopefully like a World Cup of hockey, more 4-6 Nations to watch, the fact Russia isn’t “allowed” to play in these tournaments is a joke while USA can do no wrong apparently in wars around the world

False pretence WMDS in Iraq = 20 years of an illegal war, millions dead, today funding and arming a disgusting “war” in Middle East which many people are calling a genocide… but that’s all good for the IIHF…

sorry for the geo politics, but I want to see Demidov playing best on best, Russia would put together a solid team and any hockey tournament without Russia should have a big ASS Asterix beside it.

Politics should have no place in sports but if they must than make the rules the same for all counties

As for this podcast it is my #1 go to for Habs talk.

Very few podcasters engage with the viewers replying to comments, I like that you guys thumbs up comments, add your takes or laugh me out of the room 😂

Keep it up, your content is appreciated

camp is near and hopefully much more raw content to discuss over having to break down rumours and fill the dog days of Summer

  2. One thing I agree on with Marco is when he said about Lane Hutson, and I quote "…you basically need to lock the doors to the arena to get him to stop skating." – I predict the Habs to finish 3rd or 4th in the Eastern Atlantic division for the incoming season. They changes that they have made will produce better outcomes this year. INs: Dobes, Dobson, Bolduc, Veleno and Demidov. OUTs: Primdeau, Armia, Savard, Pezzetta
