As the title states, Jim Boylen has been promoted to the front of the bench to sit with HC Rick Carlisle, and two other Assistant Coaches, Lloyd Pierce and Jenny Boucek, after Pacers Assistant Coach Mike Weinar left the team.

After being fired by the Bulls in 2020, Boylen has since been the head coach of the USA mens qualifying basketball team in November 2021 and in 2023 became an Assistant Coach with the Pacers.

Guy landed on his feet pretty well 5 years later. I don't see him even getting interim head coach responsibilities in the future, but he's gotten and continues to get better jobs than I think Bulls fans expected after his Bulls tenure.

  1. He seems like he’s a hard worker, but he also seems like someone who needs to be given direction, not the one providing the direction/leadership. Assistant coach is a perfectly fine role for him.

  2. Oh lord, almost got a heart attack. Though he had gotten a role within the bulls organization.

  3. Dude tried to give a losing team some tough love and fans lost their underwear over it. The team was losing and needed accountability tough coaching. Yeah some stuff was out there but it was team that was losing and needed change. Happy we got Billy D off course but he got a raw deal.
