DK j1Q I know he's probably going to get sent down to the minors today with Cruz coming off the injured list but I have been really impressed with Simon's bat to ball skills and with how much this team strikes out, do you think he could become what bae was supposed to be with the speed my name is Jacob

Looking to 2026. Do you want the "nice guy" Pirates who bring back Cutch and maybe Pham, or the "hardcore" Pirates who clear out the older guys and the younger deadbeats and sign 3 actual hitters?
I know what I want, but I also have a good suspicion of what they'll do.
Hi DK. I’ll probably be dating myself her but…..Do major league players play the game of “pepper” anymore? It once was a mainstay at every ball park and was key in developing hand eye or better yet hand bat coordination. With all the high tech advancements being used today, could the solution to the hitting woes be something as simple as a low tech approach?
A bunch of washed up lunch pails. They’re nice guys and they’ll play for cheap. Pham, Heaney, Horwitz, all average at best.
Can they cut Heaney without a bunch of people crying about not paying him bonuses? Probably not. He hasnt pitched good enough to be here since June. If they drop him now, there will be a group of fans who will blame money instead of performance.

What about Oneil Cruz, DK? Is he a solution in center? What are his hitting splits? He's hitting.207 overall. Horwitz projects to be what he is currently, potential realized. Cruz is still a missing piece to the puzzle.

For 1B with at least 100 PAs, Horowitz wRC+ is 102, which places him in 26th place among MLB 1B. Behind Rowdy Tellez. In last 30 days, cutoff 50 PA, he's 14th.
they're bad on the road because the fans don't travel and they play at their actual talent level, that being low. Unless it's Skenes nobody cares
Thank you DK. They need to hit all season not just a month or so. They have gone from a great start to a slow start in the past three season. Great show DK
His OPS for the year is .727, which is above league average, yet still significantly lower than his .790 from last year. I guess if you want some sort of silver lining, his OPS is a .910 over the last 30 games after only being a .615 in his first 49.
Promote Billy Cook and platoon him with Horwitz at 1B. I understand he's an excellent fielder and can play all 3 outfield positions. Suwinski hasn't adjusted since he been called up. Its time to cut Jack the K loose!
Wasn't Horrorwitz supposed to be the big signing of the off-season, the thumper in the middle of the Buccos line-up?
DK, J 1Q. Why does the MLBPA still get players a per diem for food, with the salaries they are making these days? They clearly are not strapped for cash.
