9. Just watched a video of Hal Smith's HR in the 60 series. An incredible clip of one of the greatest moments in pirate history. My diseased parents were at that game so maybe I'm more nostalgic than most, but it gives you an idea of what could be. (with completely different management).

15. When I told my season ticket account rep recently (STH 7 of the last 8 years) that I was opting out of auto-renewing for 2026, she didn't even ask WHY. She knows. They all know. Bob and Ben know, they just don't care. If they aren't even going to TRY, why would we support them? The fact that my season tickets up in 210 costs about $60 per seat per game under my plan, and I routinely sit next to people up there in PBC who paid $30 for the same seat the day of the game wasn't helping either. On a happier note, my golf swing is slowly coming back! How bad does a pro baseball team (playing in the BEST ballpark in America) have to be when watching them attempt to play baseball is MORE FRUSTRATING than playing a round of golf? That should be IMPOSSIBLE. Congrats to you Ben Cherington, you've sucked so much joy out of watching and supporting this team that chili dipping a wedge into the lake feels BETTER than watching the Pirates play baseball. At least when I am hacking my way around the golf course, I am TRYING to be successful.

16. DK I think it’s finally time to change the upbeat music to something sad or gloomy. It would match the vibe of this team, and the show. Not your fault though, obviously there’s nothing to be happy about for this team

20. Even Skenes looked subpar last night. Hoping the stench of this organization isn’t getting to him. But hey he’s human. And to think word spread last week the Bucs were “trying” to extend him. Hahaha 🤣. Talk about wanting out!

24. During the 4th inning the Milwaukee broadcast showed their manager mocking Skenes' coming set. Now why would he do something like that, in the dugout, on camera? Hmm. I'd want to be happy for a team like the Brewers winning a bunch, but they're cheating so nah.

25. Cherington trades ONE player at a time for 2, 3 or 4 low end prospects and think he knows better than any of us. He gets 35 million to spend on free agents and spreads it out on 6 or 7 bums instead of getting 1 or 2 quality major leaguers. Quanity is always more important than quality in Cheringtons mind. SELL THE TEAM should ring out at every home game left. We've had a lineup all season consisting of 2,3 or 4 hitters under.200. What an absolute joke this franchise has become. They've done A LOT OF FLUSHING these past 6 years!

28. Hey DK! I just have run out of things to say about the Pirates and their management people. Love your show but I think I have to focus on the Steelers from now on. Clearly, as long as those in power stay there, this once proud organization is going nowhere. So very sad!

30. I watched the game all the way to the end. I think little league players could have done the same. Pham dropping an easy fly out. Really! Bring up your prospects give them some experience and send some down to build their confidence up. One game does not make a season but these come in a series of them. Horrible!

31. THAT was Skenes' worst outing. Poor guy, request a trade immediately. Milwaukee is a good team and all but Jesus Lord…

32. Ben Charrington just doesn’t stop talking about 2026, I’m starting to get worried that he will not get fired at all! Do you have sources that tell you he will get fired or are you just assuming he can’t keep his job after this year? Because this team has proven that nothing is too stupid to be done. Thanks for the great show! And by the way, you’re never getting rid of us listeners! we got you in a chokehold!

33. Can’t get rid of me, DK! Need someone to commiserate with and voice my frustrations. I hope they’re good enough for me not be embarrassed when my kids are old enough to follow sports.

35. The Skenes start last night was all about the Brewers build. Their lineup defies all the things modern baseball cares about, like exit velocity, launch angle, barrel percentage, LAsweetspot, swing speed, etc. They don't care about hitting HRs per se. What they want is pitches to hit. They draw walks. They make contact and don't strike out. In fact, they hit the ball on the ground and run hard and steal bases. And they field well. The Brewers basically hit the most ground balls and yet here we are.

    The real story is why. Comes down to their build. They've targeted short stocky batters who have small strike zones and pack a pop. They have seen more pitches in the heart of the strike zone than any other team in baseball. The real story here is why? The more pitches you get to actually hit, the better chance you have to win. Their strikezones are smaller. Skenes isn't used to pitching to players who are 5 ft 7in to 5ft 8in. None of these pitchers are. They end of pressing and leave their pitches in the heart and what happens? Amazing how the "timely hitting" manages to happen in a "timely fashion" when you get pitches right down the pipe. Watch Skenes last night and tell me that's not what happened and then tell me that's not why the Brewers are good. Their pitching has always been good, but their hitting is what is pushing them forward now.

    PS: Can you provide more insight into them "passing on Arnold?" I don't believe this was ever on the table. Is there evidence to suggest he was actually trying to leave MIL? I cannot imagine Nutting, even back then, would've truly passed on a guy for Ben. We all knew at the time Arnold was better. I just cannot believe Bob didn't know that.

36. MLB, should, but has no interest in, comparing the Pirates lack of spending, to that of a team like Milwaukee, and put the pressure on them. Use the term, " not in the best interest of baseball" mantra. But a proposed salary cap, got ripped by Bryce Harper, when he met with Manfred. Having only 5/6 teams who can win the WS year after year, will be the downfall of MLB. Interest will plummet faster than the Titanic!

37. With that game last night, four players starting that are hitting .200 or below! Suwinski, Triolo, Cruz and Davis! Cruz is just like Gregory Polanco from a few years back! Supposed to be the new Dave Parker, was given multiple seasons to get better and reach his potential! Watching a Cruz at bat is like a broken record! He strikes out each time on super low curve balls! And a lot of those at the end of his “swing and miss”, it appears his eyes are closed! Yes Cruz could be the face of the franchise if he hit consistently?! But how much longer and how many more chances will he get?! He is a moderate outfielder at best? Great arm! When he does connect with the baseball he hits harder than anyone else! But usually it is a swing and miss on that same low curve ball! All the pitchers on all the other teams know exactly how to get him out!

38. Must be nice to have a positional player who was a switch throwing pitcher. Hats off to Anthony Seigler.

44. Based on the payroll number shared on this Daily shot, the Bucs would have a payroll higher than the Brewers if Skenes was being paid what he would attract on the open market.

46. Embarrassing night? They had two touchdowns put on them. Then, go out today and give up four field goals today. Been a embarrassing past 6 years. Responsibility falls on the ownership and management management. Also, the reporters who have delfected and tried using ridiculous analytical statistics to absolve players of responsibility of anything. This team is total garbage. The supposed leaders on the team dont care. it's obvious. They are out for a oayday. The Leagure minimum is $750 000 a year . There are some that will not see that amount in a lifetime . No leadership or pride in that clubhoise. Ho hum we got.destroyed again. Reynolds , McCutchen, any other over the hill postion player needs to be let go soon. Lose then lose with youth.
