The weirdest stat for B-Rey to go along with this weird team is he is tied for the lead in the league for doubles. He’s on pace for 45 which would smash his career high by 8
God I want this kid to succeed so badly
He needs to play everyday. We know what Joey Bart is. Giants did too. SKENES Loves and credits Henry after every game. Keller did too.
I think the issues with Reynolds and Cruz this year and Henry Davis are all the same. It has to be an overall failure at an organizational level. It feels like they're paralyzed by the analytics team. The philosophy of the team is to grind at bats and increase opposing pitcher's pitch counts. I could be wrong.
Ironically, I turned on the Pirate game last night in the 3rd inning. Watched his 10 pitch at-bat that ended with his homerun. Then I turned the channel.
If Henry wasn't a number 1 pick, he would already be gone. He'll turn 26 next month. You can't wait forever if you're serious about winning. ( which the pirates aren't) Maybe he can be a backup on a good team
Reynolds should have had at least a few 100 RBI years in his career by now. He never had base runners in front of him and protection behind him.
My take on Henry – he seems to wait too long to swing. He's often well behind fastballs but tries to make up for it by having a fast swing. HR tonight was on an 88 mph pitch.
Reynolds has 6 doubles in the last week and he has 12 doubles and 4 HRs so far in August in an otherwise blah season for him. Hopefully he can go on a tear and get his numbers up for the year.
If Henry can figure out his bat, he’ll be an all star.
Somehow, Davis has to be salvaged, saved from himself. So does Cruz. Has Triolo turned the corner? I'm anxious to see Devanney at short.
They could each bat over .500 and the Pirates would still be an under .500 team.
Henry’s only chance is that Cherington is fired. New GM hires great hitting coaches to hopefully straighten out Henry’s hitting. Cherington is the idiot who put him in right field. Basically said Henry couldn’t catch but had to have his bat in the lineup. Huh?
Thank you DK. I want to see Henry do better, as with the team as a whole. It's late in the season and improvement should have started in the beginning of the season. Great show DK
Davis isnt doing or going anywhere–bust , and jeez get rod of Triolo & suwinski and Pham–worthless
Konnor griffin is the future.
I just had a sorce in the Indy Indians tell me over the weekend that Henry Davis was the worst player to deal with in the last 30 years. This also backs up a comment I got from an usher this spring about him at Victory Field. Not sure folks want to work with him or mentor him due to his sense of entitlement.
right now Davis looks like a bust but if the pirates play him regularly he might turn in to a real hitter.
Bob nutjob isn't going to fire Chumpington he has saved him too much money with his shit trades
He's a likable guy, and that play he had throwing the runner out at first yesterday after the wild pitch was phenomenal. However, what we've gotten out of him at the plate has been below subpar.
