  1. If Patrik Laine is wearing bleu blanc rouge next year I WILL EAT MY HAT. The chances MSL and the executive room bet this entire rebuild on a moody defensively flawed winger just out of the player assistance program are exactly ZERO POINT ZERO ZERO ZERO.

  2. I prefer Galley / Anderson and Evans .. 4th line. They are solid and nasty to play against.
Ist line …stay the same. 2nd line, if Demidov drives the line, Bolduc at C and Laine…. until.
3rd line … Whoever competes at camp.

  3. Guys your “teasers” are coming off a little cringe…. Your 20 min show is uploaded on YouTube forever… relax… no one’s opening their eyes in the morning and sitting on their phones waiting for the two jock sniffers to update us on absolutely nothing… we have twitter you know…..

  4. you also need to factor in that he's never ever been accused of hustling, competing, and playing hard. He's a PP specialist. That's a valuable asset, but not for $8M

  5. With a full season Laine could repeat 15 pp goal but what if someone else took tha tspot how many goals do they get 10…12?So then you have a real bad 5 on 5 player getting us 3/5/7 more PP goals is that a good payoff i think not.Not only does he hurt his own performance 5 on 5 but everyone else on his line as well so it is a HUGE problem to consider.

  6. If I was the coach I likely get Laine mad and then he wants out becuase he is a 4th line player for me sure he gets on the PP for sure but 5 on 5 he is real bad.He just doesn't move well he is slow of foot once he gets going he is fine but whenever he comes to a stop he is done.He is also useless if there is a loose puck a mere 10 feet away he is too slow to get there he is really just a negative player 5 on 5.

  7. Bolduc is the seconde line center , its his job to lose , dach should be on the 3erd this year , making his transition easier, demidov and laine can help bolduc on face offs if need be ! Montreal can't afford to fuck around with young good talent confidence is the key , effort is the way to ice time , kapanen, newhook even the veterans need to wake up and smell the coffee!!

  8. Big yes especially if he signs a 6.8 mill or less . Special Agent Laline on the pp . And teams will not be able to just shut down that play . Montreal will have 2 great power play lines . And will have many power play options drawn up. And having the Laline card in the back pocket is a good thing . I expect a healthy fit player this year . I am sure he will pull through.

  9. Let's hope that Laine will have a great season to increase his value for the trade deadline. Gone. Period. That money will go to kids or an extra asset strong on Face Offs. There's only Suzuki they does the job on FO, we should worrymore about it

  10. There's no way the Habs will extend Laine. In fact, if he can show some decent numbers, he will be traded by February. Bottom line is that he believes that he's a superstar when his actions with his past teams including last season with the Habs shows him to be nothing more than a spoiled brat. Last season, frankly, it was embarrassing to watch him play. Zero effort and no heart. As much as the Habs tried to showcase him, not a single team would trade for him. This year, he will put in some effort to get another contract. Once that is done, he will be back to his old self. People don't change that easily. Get rid of the bum as soon as an offer is on the table.

  11. Load him up with bonuses with lower cap hit. Problem is he’s going to focus on offense exclusively then, but I assume you don’t want him getting dzone starts anyway. I wouldn’t give him a NMC either. Tough call. On his end he knows he’s a lazy sob and can get numbers with Demidov if he shows up- then could demand a contract. All he has to do is skate from the tops of the circles and back and occasionally support the puck and wait for Demidov magic. But Demidov needs someone to feed him also – Laine isn’t a bad playmaker tho. And Dach is pass first…

  12. Laine is the man, we gotta keep this guy. His shot can bust a game wide open at any moment.

His personality is amazing for the room and keeping things light in an 82 game grind.

He came back from a season ender early, never getting a chance with a top 6 C ever, had no off season training and he still scored at an amazing rate.

Put him with Suzuki and Drop Slaf down a line with Demidov and his production would be incredible.

I do not understand how people have given up on a guy like him with a long track record of production, but Dach who's never done anything good in his career is always viewed highly somehow.

  13. Laine should already be gone.
    1. Laine is injury prone.
    2. Laine is inconsistent.
    3. Laine not great defensively 5v5.
    4. Laine does not fit the style MSL wants to play. He's too slow for the system.
    5. They have to sign long-term Hutson, Demidov, Bolduc and Reinbacher and still need a center. There's no money.

  14. I would love to have Laine play well & resign long term. Yes, a hometown deal for stability & security in a location for Laine in Montreal would be nice after all he has gone thru. However, something tells me with his lifestyle he may chose the highest bidder for his services next summer. I hope Patrick proves me wrong and doesn't chase the money, although he has every right to do so

  15. BIG no for me. A big shot is all that he's got. We alao don't know when he'll break down physically or mentally (but he will) and his effort level is questionnable
