  1. Hoffman is a beast and his overall stats are good? 4.77 era with 7 blown saves. Thats not a playoff closer. They have no one else to replace him i expect hoffnan to pitcg like he did in last yrs playoffs

  2. Jays got the additions they wanted at trade deadline for the pen, just didn't get the right guys for a play-off run. They are the right guys in-season trade, off-season trade, selling mode trade (not for their cost that Shatkins gave) BUT NOT a good trade for a play-off run … today's MItch White's. Back then Jays were in a play-off push, needed a 5th starter badly and Shatkins grabbed Mitch White – wah, wah, wah, as the air deflated out of the balloon of hope.

  3. Go look at how sick Springer's numbers are! ..stats told you he was going to have a bad year.
Forget Lukes, Schneider – maybe it's Barger who sits for Sandy when he's back?
Remember all those people who said Bo sucked? ..don't sign him in spring? ..to trade him away? Remember these "experts" (lots of them media types – do you think they can now step over their pride and say, "I was wrong"? …me niether! Look back at the post I made on here, I wanted Bo signed for 300 cool ones, it was a no doubter to me – baseball is a game of ups and downs (refer to Springer, go back and recall Vernon Wells), baseball is a finicky-bitch, never evaluate players on "short term play", like Varland and his 50 innings of good play. Evaluating baseball players is much different than other sports.

  4. Love that silly Twins' base running mistake. Man, modern ballplayers sure don't have any attention span. Must be all that gazing at laptops.

  5. Hoffman quite disappointing to say the least! The Bullpen's success and consistency is "imperative," if the Jays have any hope of being 2025 WORLD SERIES Champs!

  6. Hoffman is not “a beast.” And they cannot be a contender with a closer with a 4.77 era – worst among all current closers. Career era of 4.81 across 10 seasons: this is not some anomalous rough stretch. He is not nor has ever been good enough.

They have a golden opportunity, with the highest OBP offense in the league, but the bullpen will ruin their chances if not restructured.

I understand trying to be positive/hopeful, but we have to accurately assess players too.
