Mikes son here . We did some cleaning out of our garage today and we came across some of my dad’s old contracts and I thought this sub might get a kick out of these . These are his 1974, 1975 , and 1981 contracts . There is a bunch of stuff I found and I’m gonna try to scan and upload everything . None of this is meant to shame the Steelers or be all “poor us look how little we made “ . I just think it’s a cool look behind the scenes of contracts during that time . Hope you guys get a kick out of it

  1. Dude this is so cool. Thank you for sharing. Your dad was incredible and a hero to many fans

  2. I was a huge fan of your dad, one of the greatest Steelers and NFL players in general. The original Iron Mike. Thanks for sharing!

  3. $5,000 was serious money in 1974.

You could practically pay for an entire college education and get a solid down payment on a house.

These are great though. I love everything you’ve shared on here about your dad and football in general.

  4. It does suck that league doesn’t better support these players and their families now that they have built enormous success and wealth off their backs.

  5. Love when I see you posting here. Love what your dad meant to the team and city. Wish we could still sign a HoF center for 8k

  6. I asked my dad if 8k was a lot back in 1974

he grew up in the mon valley and was a fan of your dad 🙂
