At least he got to this chapter. Reading is hard.

  1. Carson Kelly is also not a starting catcher. Batting turner and Kelly 4-5 is a crime against the Geneva Conventions

  2. To be fair, there are several players who just aren’t doing their jobs. I’m sure there are days where CC is making the line and just feels hands are tied because nobody seems to be living up to their paychecks.

But crap like sitting Shaw when he was the hottest hitter on the team, and not giving Suzuki a “mental break” (bench him) does open CC up to a lot of criticism.

I think this shows how flawed this lineup is, and really makes me see what the Hoyer extension was really about. Which IMHO is win as many games as you can without spending like a big market team. Flawed roster is in the GM, and the lack of help at deadline has left CC without a lot of options.

  3. Still clinging to hope that Shota, Boyd and Horton can win a series of 5-7.

The required close game butt clenching that will mandate is preemptively giving me sphincter pain.

  4. Wasn’t there a note a week or so ago that the Cubs only had 3 games remaining versus >500 teams? This team sure can make average teams look good.
