Hi! I’m Matt and I like to ride bikes long distances. My birthday is September 2nd, so I always get a long weekend to do something cool on my bike for Labor Day weekend.

Last year, I rode my bike from Lansing, Michigan to the Mackinaw Bridge which connects the lower peninsula and upper peninsula of Michigan. I was GUTTED when I got all the way there and realized that I left my most important piece of gear at home.

So. This year, for my birthday, I’m doing two things. One, I’m riding my bike from Lansing, MI to the coast in Holland, MI in one afternoon and taking my damn picture with the towel when I reach my finish line. Two, riding bikes is good for you, but it doesn’t really make any positive impact helping others in your community. I’m hoping to change that this year. I’m collecting donations to give to a small local charity where I will see an impact. I’ve chosen Punks With Lunch as the charity I’d like to donate to. They do fantastic work with the unhoused, play a HUGE role in harm reduction, and help with general community outreach. Here’s a link so you can learn more if you’d like: https://pwllansing.com. So far, I’ve collected $877 and I’m over the moon about that, as I had a $500 goal.

Anyways. I just wanted to share with my fellow football fans what is going on over here in Michigan.
If anyone is interested in following along, I’ll be posting a link with my live GPS 8/30, around 5:00 AM EST in the comments of this post.

Steelers nation terrible towel travels are so fun to see and I can’t wait to add mine to the collection. LFG STILLERS!

  1. I work just north of Holland right on the lake. You’ll likely be riding right past me this weekend. Good luck this is awesome!
