Heaney was recently DFA’d by the Pirates and almost surely will pass through waivers. Could the Halos take a flyer on him, given the abysmal SP depth? I don’t know if I want them to rush someone like Dana, Aldegheri, or Klassen (the sample size on the first two in the Majors have been, shall you say, not great…)
Plus, Heaney could be a feel good story to end the season, assuming he can turn it around and pitch like he did to start the year.

Sure if you want more 20 run games.
I’d rather give the roughly 5 starts remaining to our young guys as we will likely be relying on them with Anderson and Hendricks being gone.
Hell have detmers start becoming a starter but limit his starts to 2 innings, then 3 and so on.

Have you watched Heaney play? We need a bonafied star at starting pitching. I’m done taking “flyers” on washed up vets who get putcasted by their own team. We need a serious starting pitching hire or we need to find a diamond in the rough somehow in our farm system. As others have mentioned I’m done with these 20 score games man and that’s what we’d get with Heaney
Heaney blows. Were you not here a few years ago? Also, he just got DFA’d by the…… Pirates…..
He started off hot and then absolutely collapsed as the season went on. Sadly, I think he’s declined too far to waste the time on him. He needs a Niebla type to help him fix his problems and I’m not sure the Angels staff is up to it.
Sure. What’s another guy in the rotation with an ERA over 5
TIL Andrew Heaney is still in MLB.
No…
Perry? Is that you? What are you doing on the Reddit feeds???

Re-signing Heaney would be like trying to flush a clogged toilet twice.

Our depth is better than Heaney

Hean puppy can stay in the dog house
Absolutely not.
Stop the endless trend of bringing washed up re-treads to the team.
When he had the 10 run a game support by the Dodgers he was great. When he has to “pitch” he has not been great.
