3. Personally I don’t think having the best pass rusher and the rest of the defense being mediocre isn’t a recipe for winning year in and year out. Parsons was going to account for at least 15% of the CAP for years to come. Which means they would not be able to sign other players to help the defense. Signing parson to a record contract just meant having to draft Stars which is a hit or miss. Now they have 2 first from the Packers plus their own draft picks. They can easily take one of those picks and trade for a player or two who can give you the same production. My eagles managed to stop parson and keep him from wrecking games because that’s all they had. It’s easy to game plan against one player as opposed to having a bunch of players who can produce. Between Daks contract and CeeDees contracts paying parsons a record amount would just keep you from getting better at other positions.
