Vikings win total predictions for 2025 season: Over/under | Chris Simms Unbuttoned | NFL on NBC

All right, so the Vikings here. This is one of the more interesting ones because they won 14 games last year. Their overunder is only nine and a half and the public actually slightly likes the under at minus 125. You know, that’s because of the change at quarterback with JJ McCarthy, Chris. And it’s always difficult to project a guy that’s going into his first year as a starter taking over a team that’s well coached, really talented, but can he carry that torch? Like this is like, you know, one where I’m a little bit like I we’re doing this today. I feel like I want to pick the over with every one of these freaking teams. Somebody’s got to go. But I feel like at the same time I’m like, will that match up when we’re all done with this exercise and we’ve done all divisions? Everyone won nine games. Everyone went over, right? And and I do think that within our theme of what we talked about in the AFC East, NFC East topic, I I I think we’re going to have a year here where there’s a robust middle class. We might have a ton of teams at nine and eight wins and 10 wins right there. And it comes to tiebreers. I don’t know. the more we get closer to the season, the more I feel like that where it might be a year where there’s just really only one or two or three teams that stand above the rest with their record and everybody else is jumbled together. So, I I’m going to go over here. Wow. I am. I I I I’m just too much a believer in everything they do. I like Kevin O’Connell. I think he’s the man on the offensive side of the ball. They improve their offense in my opinion on the offensive line. I think Jordan Mason in the running game helps a lot is going to be a different factor for this team. I think they’re going to make an emphasis on running the ball. You listen to their preseason games and watch it. You get the sense that that’s one of the themes of training camp. We’re going to run the ball better. We can’t just drop back and look for Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison all the time. And they have to do that with JJ McCarthy in year one. It’s not fair to McCarthy to have him drop back 45 times and just, you know, pepper the ball around the field. They’re dealing with some injury to at wide receiver after uh Jefferson as well. Also, Hawinson’s going to have to have a really big year as well. I’m going to go under here. Go under. Okay. It’s because they can win nine games with JJ McCarthy year one. You’re like, damn, the Vikings are still pretty good. I just think there has to be growing pains at some point with where it’s the things they want to do on offense this week. Well, we we can’t ask him to do that yet and they’re stopping the run and so I think the Vikings are going to be a really close one. I’m going to change mine, too. I’m going to go under two. 10 10 games is a lot of I want to keep it at nine. And I’m sorry. I’m not trying. This is kind of where I thought them. I don’t know why I even said over. I think I’m nine and eight. I think I’m I’m I’m comfortable. I think you forgot that the I think you forgot the overunders nine and a half. I’m gonna join I’m gonna join you in that one there. You talk some sense into me. The running Rams said, “Let’s get Connor a set of red pants.” We’ll work on that. I don’t own any red pants. But uh NFC North had it easy last year, but this time around there’ll be a battle among all four teams with the Bears getting better. Vikings, Lions, Packers will all be good, but all stay in the 8 to11 win total. I think that’s what Chris and I are. Well, let’s see. Yo yo yo homies, what’s up? Thanks for watching Chris Sims Unbutton. And just because the weather’s warm doesn’t mean football ain’t still on our brains right here. We are still working. So smash that subscribe button. We got all the training camp news, preseason news, everything up until kickoff night. Thanks for watching and again remember to hit that subscribe button. Peace out, homies.

Both expecting the Vikings to endure some “growing pains” in 2025, Connor Rogers convinces Chris Simms to lean the same way when it comes to betting on Minnesota’s projected win total this year. #NBCSports #NFL #SundayNightFootball #ChrisSimmsUnbuttoned

  1. U act like its not allowed for the vikings to bench JJ and b replaced By carson if JJ isnt producing yet & hes personally losing the games. The team is to good to just let 1 man stop them, theres a reason why QB rodgers tried everything to get on the team

  2. It’s a tough schedule, not just the opponents, but the timing and logistics, and those things can have an impact. As a longtime Vikings fan, I get nervous and have flashbacks about previous seasons where promise didn’t materialize. So I’m very hesitant about a robust forecast, and I’m happy with being dismissed by national media. I’d rather prove people wrong than eat crow. And in this league a lot of weird things can happen. I’m thinking about 11-6, but we’ll see.
