2025 Pittsburgh Steelers 16-Man Practice Squad
We obviously know that there is a practice squad as well, man. So, I did want to make sure that we spend some time to talk about that because some of these names that you did hear me say didn’t make the active did end up on the practice squad. So, in some capacity, there is some silver lining. At least gives those guys an opportunity to potentially, you know, work in the background as they’re waiting to get back on. But the 16 guys that we signed to our practice squad, Kyler Ball, he’s a uh interior D lineman, man. Young guy, a year uh excuse me, one year player right now, man. But uh from there, Beanie Bishop, we obviously know, man. Um this is his second year in the league, man. Played for us. Started for us a lot. Four picks last year, man. Ball out. Actually picked our current quarterback off a couple times, man. All right. But shout out to Beanie Bishop. Sebastian Castro, man. We know that’s the rookie that uh signed with us out of Iowa. Undrafted free agent. Definitely liked him, man. productive special teams guy as well. So that give him some opportunities. Dylan Cook, offensive lineman, tackle, swing tackle, been here for a couple of years now. Um on the practice squad, JJ Garbre, the rookie that we had uh signed as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota. Um he’s also going to be here, man. Tighten. We said kind of in that Pat Firemouth variety. Max Hurleman. Definitely like the fact that they found a way to keep Max around, man. That’s the rookie running back out of Notre Dame, man. And obviously we saw the production from him, the cool backflip and some special teams elements as well, man. So interesting to see, you know, when he could get a chance to work his way up to potentially that active 53 man roster. Definitely like what I saw from Max this preseason, though. Um Deshawn Jameson, man, we also signed to the practice squad, man. Steven Jones, uh first year player out of Oregon, man. Um signed him. He’s an interior offensive lineman. He’s on a P squad. Del Marvin Lia. Shout out to Liao, man. He was fighting like a son of a gun this preseason. I was just if he could have finished a couple of those plays that Panthers game, I think he makes the act of 53. But this preseason, man, and kind of the story of him has been near misses, right? He’s almost making the play but just misses it. I am happy for him though, man, because I do feel like he has developed a lot more this off seasonason. And I thought this preseason was one of the best preseasons from him that I’ve seen. And I just like the athleticism, the size that he has, the positional flexibility. I’m glad that they found a way to keep him around. He’s got to keep developing, keep developing, keep focusing on those little techniques, man, because that’s going to be the difference between him staying on this P squad versus him making an active roster somewhere and putting on the production that we know he’s capable of. Lou Nicholls, shout out to Lou Nichols, man. super productive, speedy man. Dude was he he he did what he supposed to do this preseason, man. Toting that rock, man. Definitely like what I saw from him, but he also made the practice squad. James Pierre, shout out to Pierre Island, baby, cuz he’s an island boy. But yeah, man. James Pierre also making the P squad. We obviously know, man, he’s been around for a while. Has started games for us. has helped us out in a major way defensively at times filling in. More importantly, special teams is where James Pierre has really, you know, shined throughout his tenure with the Steelers, man. So, good to see that he’s still around this thing, man. Cuz hey, you’re familiar. We know you, brother. All right, so keep it going, man. Keep it going. Daryl Porter, man, we obviously know we signed him this uh was a couple weeks ago if I remember correctly, but he also made the uh the uh 16-man practice squad. Um obviously, he’s a rookie out of Miami. Shout out to the youth, Trey Surman. Happy to see Trey Surman make peace squad. Like I said, man, it’s one of the guys that I thought was product this preseason, man. Did his thing, man. Both running the ball and on special teams, man. So, it’s good to see that. Julius Weshoff, man. Our international player, outside linebacker, we obviously know um he was productive also, man, in terms of just being out there, his effort um getting some some tackles on defense, showing some special teams as well. But that’s the big man, 66, 265, man. But it was good to also see him still finding a way to stay around because you can see the development with him from last year to this year in the preseason. So hopefully that will continue. Keshan Williams, the rookie out of Indiana, big fan of what I saw from him this preseason, man. Both as a receiver and in the return game. Short area quickness, his ability to make those guys miss, play fast, more importantly, man, and show some toughness. I do feel like down the line that could be something that we turn to if we run into some return issues. You know what I mean? Like whether there’s injuries or guys having issues securing the catch and stuff like that. Keshan to me is a dude that we would look to and lean to, man, to bring up. And then my dog Robert Woods. Shout out to Woods, man. The super OG 13year vet in this thing, man. But jumping on that P squad, man. Good to see that from the homie Robert Woods, man. Um, like I said, man, whenever I think of my dog Woods, man, obviously we know, man, that’s a dude that has done it and done it at a high level and done it for a while, man, in multiple stops. But at this at the same time, it’s like, man, I understand, man, some of these other guys that we do have, man, your Calvin Austin, Jerome Wilson’s, we feel good about those guys. When we look at Benic from a special team standpoint, we like what he brings. Scotty Miller, to me, was one of our most productive players this preseason, regardless of offense or defense. I thought that he looked good every single game. So, it was good to see that. But with Robert Woods, it’s still good to have him around. And even though you’re on the practice squad, you’re still in the same meetings. You’re still on the same schedule. Only difference is you don’t travel. That’s it, right? But you’re still in the meeting rooms, you’re still in the workouts, still in the same locker room. So, when you talk about Robert Woods, the veteran, that’s the leadership part. That’s the guy that’s still going to be able to give those guys that calming presence, man. If things get, you know, a little wacky in the season, man, because with every season, you go through ups and downs, highs and lows, but it’s good to have a guy that can, you know, tell everybody, “Hey, yo, calm down. I got this. We gonna be good.” So, that’s the part that I do like about Woods still being on the practice squad, man. And we’ll see, man. Obviously, we know that he knows how to play, baby. He knows how to play the game. But, at the same time, man, we know he’s not young Woods anymore. He’s 13ear vet for Robert Woods, man. So, we will see, man, how that continues to play out. But shout out to them new practice squad rules though, man. As I said, you could be on that P squad, they get away, boy. You get away with it. I like that though, man. And you know, I’m actually glad that they was not available when I was there cuz I show that might have had me sticking around for extra year or two. I’m like, you know what? I don’t got to be with you, guys. Just keep me on that P squad. I’m going just practice with you guys. I’m going get you guys ready. Nothing. I’m just chill at the house. All right. I’m going just watch the game on Sunday at the house. All right. I for sure that Mike would have but anyh who anyh who man shout out to them P squad guys though man and shout out to the Steelers 53 active uh roster as well man. But like I said man if you are enjoying what I am on and what we are on today you know the drill. Hit the like button one time for the culture and subscribe if you are new to the channel,
