When it’s the AFC North’s turn for rivalries uniforms I think the Steelers should introduce a grey jersey/uniform, think it would look clean

  1. please no.

the removal of colour from nfl uni designs is an epidemic that needs to stop.

  2. Hard pass

This Rivalries campaign has already started off terrible with 4 blackout unis, a bland white on white uni and a dirt stained white uni

I got a great idea guys… Let’s add boring flat grey

Also, none of this says rivalries, it’s just more lazy Nike “inspiration from x attribute of the city”

Nike should have done the NHL campaign and gone reverse retro, that was glorious

Black or gold, we have our colors, use them in a new and fun way

  3. Pitt did a really cool grey steel jersey a few years ago. If they borrowed inspiration from that I’d be okay with it

  4. This Rivalries program has had a weird launch. Why only do two divisions? Just either embrace it and league-wide or throw your high-concept avant-garde design at the Seahawks, who are the Oregon Ducks of the NFL as far as uniform design goes.

I used to design uniforms, vividly remember the intro of laser cutting and the massively unheard of and totally innovative intro of “grey” into uniforms. No not grey, it was PLATINUM, GRAPHITE, SLATE, STEEL, SHADOW, and PEWTER. It was fucking grey… These current Rivalries uniforms are the same tricks and flashy BS I remember from 12 years ago, why hasn’t there been any attempt at actual innovation or style? MLB’s City Connect and NHL’s Reverse Retro programs were fresh and bold, and fans respected it. It may not have been massively adopted, but at least it was tried. I think a lot can be forgiven if you stick to a concept and fully execute it, not some half-ass “we were too afraid of crossing lines so we closed our eyes and moved the color shader a little” flaccid mess.

There are about six teams in the NFL that have uniform designs that are as close to sacred as you can get. Pittsburgh is one of them. You either have to go big with something never seen before (red uniforms anyone?) or use the same colours but switch up the materials and textures.

  5. Imagine finally getting the numbers right… only to make the rest of it look like you pulled it out of a muffler.

You young guys can sure fuck up tradition. This is why the NFL does this shit. Cause people actually like it. Unreal.

  6. Why do people have to try and screw with perfection? If you want rivalry gear, have them bring back the block numbers and the gray facemasks.

  7. Everyone is bashing you, but personally I think it’s an awesome idea. Lean in on the “Steel City” idea and make a metallic inspired uniform

I’m also part of the 1% who loved the Bumblebee jerseys

  8. If the plan is to look like some strip district cheap ass bullshit, nailed it

  9. Alternate uniforms based on nothing, using none of the primary colors of the team, is so stupid.

  10. My first ever jersey was one like this and it was Ben

Wore tf outta that through elementary school

  11. I have one Ward one of these from 20 years ago when they made them, and I think I might have been one of the only people to buy it.
