Also starting to get more concerned about the Rags. 7 from 8 and they are putting away teams they should be putting away. Their schedule gets a bit tougher but they’re picking up momentum at the right time.
If we can’t slug in the runners we get on base… we need to move the runners with some small ball. It’s a disappearing art in baseball now. Some teams still rely on stealing, bunting, hit and runs etc… Last night, we needed this. I remember only 1 bunt attempt at bat.. fouled two off. No steals, no hit and runs. Just runners stranded at 1st or 1st and 2nd… waiting for the “big slug”… didn’t happen. We could have brought in at least 2 more runs by taking away double plays and having guys in scoring position. As much it is simple to blame the offense for not producing… management/coaches need to shift their focus when slugging doesn’t work. No outs, man on 1st, steel 2nd if he’s fast, bunt him over if not, hit and run if you trust the batter enough to put the ball on the ground… NOTHING last night. Just waiting for a double play or stranded runners on 1st.
Well this guy wrecked us last time. But last time we wrecked Hendricks so surely the opposite will be true and we will tee off Soriano today right?
