They missed a chance to gain on first place Toronto, but round out August in firm control of a wild card spot. He’s really been exceptional. Big right-hander, his first one. Coming on. Still makes the play. That’ll retire the side. Multiple innings and then ran into some issues. Went to single innings and he’s been nasty ever since. Slider was there that eats up Tommy Fam. He strikes him out. One out in the eighth. June 10. Little pop up. There’s low drifting going for it over the shoulder. Little bobble, but he hangs on. All right, that’s two down. Cruz has gone for two with a walk. He’ll ground that one into right center for a base hit. Gonzalez around second. Here’s the throw into third. It’s cut there by Bregman. They’re going to be safely on it. First and third. Two-2. There goes Cruz. Pitch down. The throw into second base will not get him. Runner holding at third. So, two men in scoring position. Swing and a miss. He struck him out and that will retie the side. They leave him loaded. [Music] Cut on a miss. Got him. Sweeper for strike three on the swing and miss. 3-1 and a fly ball into center field. Cruz still fighting that son but make the catch and a pop into right field. Canario and Cruz. Cruz wants to take it and he does. Battled it again but made the catch. Red Sox go in order. I rolled this home with a one-two. He struck him out with the split [Music] and popped up and a play for Hamilton and he’ll make the catch. Two down in the ninth and a two home. He got him 100 mph to strike him out. The Red Sox win it 52. They salvage one in the series and that is 15 consecutive hitless appearances by the closer Aless Chapman.
