on the NBA. He said, quote, “I understand the game has changed a lot and I’ve had a huge part in that, but it’s not for me to articulate. I just enjoy what I get to do every day.” And I think that’s why good things keep happening because I embrace what’s next. EA, eyes on the prize. Ally, thanks. You look at each of these teams rosters. Lots of guys who have spent tons of time in the league. Brent, and these guys know each other so well, BA, whether it’s this team or playing on other teams, they’ve seen these faces. They recognize the moves. Uh we’ll see tonight who can outthink the other. Let’s take a look at our starters. It’s for the Golden State Warriors. And for the 76ers, Kelly Ubé out there with Tyrese Maxi. Then there’s Edwards. Then there’s Paul George. And it’s Embiid in it to five down low. So Golden State will get the first possession. And there’s the whistle. The illegal screen is the call. The screener was leaning a bit right there. His feet may not have been planted. Pretty obvious call by the officials. Got to hold firm or you’re going to get a call. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. That’s on Jimmy Butler. Paul George really a true two-way player in the NBA. He gives you so much on both ends. So you get all-star value offensively and defensively. Shot two. and he knocks down the first one. And the standout skill of Paul George is the fact that on both ends of the court, he’s going to affect the outcome of a game. He’s perfect from the line this time. And George is the kind of versatile player that every team is looking for. Brent NBA with all of that experience, he’s able to switch on so many different guys and he understands what it is they’re trying to do. And then on the offensive end, he just scores in a myriad of ways. He’s hitting threes, he’s driving, he’s dunking, he’s making plays. PG the complete package. Now here’s George and then Embiid with the dunk. You look at the career of Paul George and it’s those passing numbers that have greatly improved and he’s an effective playmaker from deep and the Warriors get it back. Here’s Green. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. Yeah, we know he’s undersized for the position, but Draymond Green does the work of several men, including how he forces the D that time to foul. 2022. What a year for Golden State. Another NBA title. Unbelievable. From the worst record in the league, climbing back on top, getting their big three healthy. Man, as long as you have a healthy Steph Curry, I think you’re going to have a chance to get there. What a run they were on. He misses the free throw. Amazing to think about Draymond Green and the career arc he’s had thus far. He really can guard any position on the floor. He can make plays. Really a unique talent. And the second free throw is good. And now just over a minute played here in the first. Backy passes to George. Now Ubé to the middle. Curry with a seal down low. Out of bounds. It’ll be Philadelphia’s ball and Philadelphia has possession. Maxi against Curry. Warriors with the rebound. We’ll have a hard time shaking that one off. Perfect position. Plenty of space. just clanked it and setting the tempo with an assertive move. Like where was the defense on that play? Yeah, APB sent out to try to find out where the defense is. Inexcusable. Now here’s George outside. UB down to five on the shot clock. Back to Edwards. 43. The Sixers with another miss. The Warriors have gone one of four to begin this one. Maxi against Curry. Here’s Green. Chance there to take the lead, but a miss. And the 76ers with possession. Here’s George. And he got the whistle on the way up. So he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. It’s going to go on Draymond Green. And not afraid that time as PG goes right at the defense to make that play happen. Shooting two. And the first one at the line is good. George hits them both. Well, when he gets into a groove at the free throw line, it doesn’t just last for tonight. This might be two weeks, two months, something like that. And it’s good. Two points. And that agility that Stephen Curry has gives him the advantage when he gets to the inside. Just works around obstacles. And that was the mobile one drive. No resistance to the finish line. You’re toasting the defense and getting in close. They’ll take possessions like that one all day. Now here’s George. Pass to Maxi from behind the ark. Nope. Another miss. 0 for two to start the game. fires the three. It’s hauled in by the Sixers inside. Here’s Edwards and he banks in the layup. Good passing in the paint may be even more important to an offense than great passing on the perimeter. Those are areas where you got to be careful. Now here’s Curry. He’s now one for two with that bucket. That is a tough two right there from Butler. Really is calling card. Rugged play and 100% effort. George’s shot is off. The Warriors have gone three of eight so far. Curry against Maxi. Pure from three-point range. Five points in the game. And that’s a superb pass coming from Curry that time. Just scan the floor and found a guy for a clean look. Pass to Ubé. Wing shot on the way. Hits the front of the rim and out. That’s just enough defensive pressure on him to throw off that shot. I bet he gets a a good look at it next time and hits it. George defending and Joel Embiid pulls it down. Philadelphia has gone 0 for three from downtown. Here’s Maxi. That’s good. His first made shot in three attempts. Attacking in the painted area. Clearly that was their game plan coming in. to the left wing. That three is off the mark and the 76ers shooting 33% in the first quarter. Blocked and that’ll be Philadelphia’s ball as it goes out of bounds. Sixers able to keep the possession. A remarkable defensive play. The replay showing once again the tenacity on that end. Yeah, just some terrific effort there. And you know, the whole team will get an energy boost off a block like that one. And here are the Sixers now. George outside. Cash money on the open jump shot. George has got six. Effortless from Paul George knocking it down off the good pass. Back to Curry. Shoots over Maxi. Curry shot is off. The Sixers leading to the left side wing. Out of bounds. It’ll be Warriors ball. Golden State has gone one of four from deep. Pass to Jay. The shot from 20 ft out. It’s hauled in by the Sixers. Probably not the shot that was drawn up for that possession, but you can’t pass it up and you can’t knock it down. Now Curry. George defending. Clock at six. Out to the wing. Second chance shot. Good. He hits the jumper. Yeah. Here’s a list of things I don’t want to do. And right at the top is guard that guy. And here’s Embiid. It’s George with the drive. The Sixers again can’t hit. The Warriors shooting only 31% to get this game underway. Out of bounds. It’ll be Philadelphia’s ball. Philadelphia has gone 0 for three from downtown. Pass to Embiid from the wing off the left rim and out. Here’s Golden State. Well, Brent, not many players love the grind of the game like Stephen Curry. Well, when you get to a point, BA, where you’re practicing and you only count the makes if it’s a swish and you count it as a miss and you hit the rim, attention to detail like that gives you all-time greats. Like Steph Curry, buddy right there trying to score and forcing the issue a bit. Well, whenever you bring up the 76ers, you instantly think of Joel Embiid. Oh, no question. He’s the face of this franchise. Embiid is as good as anyone in the league. off the floor. Joel is willing to take the blame when things don’t go right. That’s who you want as a leader. And the free throw is good. Now leading by one. You know, in the past several seasons, there’s been one constant with the 76ers. They’re going to be among the best defensive teams in the league. Walker, he’s checked in for Embiid. He hits them both. The Sixers identity really does center around their defense. It’s so true, BA. And they’ve done a great job playing to their strengths. That’s the key for any contending team. Maximize your players talents. Philly has done that as well as anybody. And the 76ers call time here. Failing to find a rhythm offensively, something that needs to change and change soon. Yeah, they’re like a 4-day old soda right now. Just flat. They’re missing shots left and right and just not playing their best. Heat. Heat. George outside. He’s covered by Curry. Healed with the defensive effort. He pulls it. Drummond grabs the miss. The Sixers trailing. and he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So, he’ll take two free throws. When Drummond has the ball where he likes it, he’s going to attack with force. And he’s such a physical player that way. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. He’s off on the first. That one misses. The Warriors leading. Moody from outside and they’ll get another chance. Jay, that one off the back iron and out. Well, if you believe in the numbers, that mid-range shot is not a high value shot, even with little or no defense on you. Here’s Drummond. No good. And they can’t put it into the drought. Golden State has gone one for five from three-point range. A cold start. Philadelphia has gone 0 for three from downtown. Pass to Walker. This one for three. They get it back. Tries again. Drummond passes to George. Back to Drummond. Three on the clock. And just wasn’t able to set up in time. And there’s the drive. No good there. So, Golden State will take it the other way. Walker against Heel. Here’s Jay. And so he draws the foul. Headed to the line to shoot a pair. Heat. Heat. First free throw is good. hits both from the stripe. Things just don’t seem to be clicking for them offensively. Yeah, they really need to find a way to get back on track. Kept alive. Drummond with the bucket. If you didn’t run one play for Drummond all night, he still might get into double digits. He’s that much of a force on the offensive glass. Now, here’s Curry and the Warriors miss again. And he just hasn’t been able to get it going this period. No, I haven’t seen him in in comfortable spots or at least spots we’ve seen in this offensive set that are allowing him to settle in. shoots. No, they’re unable to get the tying basket there. Second chance effort. Walker pulls down the board. Philadelphia has gone 0 for four from deep to start this one. Can’t cash it in from close range. That’s how to protect the rim without fouling. force him into an awkward release and a bit of an adjustment on the layup. That’s nice vision there. You see that pass, you make the feed before the defense has a chance to react and that opens up a a much better opportunity to score. And it’s the Sixers with the ball following the score by Golden State. Six on the shot clock. Outside, Walker takes the three. Here’s Drummond. Warriors with the rebound outside. Curry. Launches a three. Drills it from deep. And it’s a seven-point Warrior lead. So active from behind the arc. And he’s going to be there all night long. Curry needs just a bit of separation. He’ll let it fire. Pass to George. Here’s Drummond. the three and that’ll be Philadelphia’s ball as it goes out of bounds. Sixers able to keep the possession. George outside with one second left and he sinks the layup. George has got eight. And you got to have just great ball control when you’re making a move like that and Paul George definitely has the handle. And that concludes the first quarter play. Warriors ahead up five and back to the start of the second quarter in just a moment. And thanks again for tuning in. If you’re just joining us, we played through one quarter of action so far. And what do you guys think about the Warriors here in this one? Well, they’ve used the fast break well to score easy points and keep the defense unsettled. Yeah, they did a great job. Just the initial thrust of that attack as soon as they got the ball constantly in transition. You know, Grant, sometimes with certain flagrant fouls, you’ll hear people say it was a dirty play, but not a dirty player. But when does it become both? Well, we all understand, BA, dirty plays aren’t good for the game. But sometimes a flagrant foul will happen. A lot of times though, you have to factor in a pattern of behavior. I really believe players who have a history of being called for a lot of flagrant fouls plays a big role in how it’s perceived. They’ve got Joel Embiid. Tyrese Maxi is out there with Kelly Ubé. Then there’s Edwards. That’s the group for Philadelphia to kick off the second quarter. Outside Maxi outside Ubé gets rebounded by Golden State and about a minute gone in the second quarter. Fires the three. Another three for Golden State. Now Draymond Green patient enough to know when his teammates are running around. At some point one’s going to break open. Then he finds him. The ball’s knocked loose. MBI drawing the double team. Six to shoot. And a bit of a battle for the ball. And the officials signal a jump ball here. So, it’s the Warriors now. The Warriors have got two of three shots to go in the second. Second quarter basketball. Just over a minute and a half played so far. Shot clock at six. It’s hauled in by Ubé. That might not be the shot they want him taking. Even with the D backing off and he’s going to the line for two. The officials saw contact while he was going up. No debate there. He he got hammered. A chance to catch up on some numbers here. The scoring breakdown for the Warriors. So far, they’ve had a lot of off fast break plays and they’ll probably continue to push the tempo as much as possible. We should also mention how hard they’ve been working on the offensive glass. just coming up with second chance scoring opportunities. Those can be deflating. The first one falls. Zoe picks up just one from the line that time. The Warriors leading pass to Moody and he lobbs it up. And that’s Jimmy Butler with a great finish there. Good hands to catch the pass and throw it through. Back to Maxi and the ball out of play. The Warriors will have it. That’s That’s tough because that one’s preventable. The defense has nothing to do at all with that turnover. The Warriors have gone three of five since the beginning of the second. Quarter two and just under two and a half minutes gone by. Releases. Can’t get it to drop. And for Philadelphia, they’re shooting a tough 22% from the field so far. Outside Edwards pass to Maxi over Green. Here’s Embiid. And good work on the boards as they picked up the second chance points. Embiid’s gotten his second bucket. A sequence you might expect from Embiid. An elite rebounder and the man knows how to finish to the inside. Moody good and the Warriors lead by 11. Like a matador Olay. There was no defense. That has to be one of the easier shots I’ve seen tonight. Yeah, feels like Christmas right now. Just gift wrapping points outside Edwards. Philadelphia the rebound. The Warriors have gone four for seven in the second quarter. It’s hauled in by the Sixers. Embiid’s got seven rebounds in the game and last season’s scoring champion Joel Embiid the first center to lead the league in scoring since Big Shack way back in the 2000 season. And the Warriors with possession here after the Sixers picked up a basket a moment ago. Pass to Moody from outside the ark. He can’t hit that time. The Sixers trailing. Maxi finds Ubé. Here’s Edwards. up top. Embiid over Green. Embiid can’t hit. And Joel Embiid last season. The first center to average over 30 a game since Moses Malone did it back in 1982. Grant. Oh, BA. Talk about historic company. And how about this? Also the first ever international player to lead the NBA in scoring, too. I mean, he won’t be the last with the way things are. two. And he makes a first And so he hits both. The 76ers have gotten just two of six field goals to go in the second. Back to Maxi and they call an illegal screen here. You’re not going to fool the officials too often on an illegal screen. Yeah, everybody saw that one. And that was pretty blatant there. Golden State has gone one of two from deep in the second quarter. Pass to Moody. Embiid covers. Here’s Moody. Lets it fly. And the jumper is on the mark. And the Warriors lead by 13. And just executing at a high level. I mean, taking what the defense allows and putting in the work. Basketball IQ is something that gets talked about, but it’s importance to a team showing up here, running plays that turn into scores. UB and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Green’s got four rebounds now. to the paint. He can’t get it to go. Oh, good D by Edwards. Outside Maxi outside Ubé. Here’s Edwards. That shot off and Golden State will go the other way with it. Pass to Moody. Jacks up a three. No good that time. Philadelphia shooting just 24% in this one. Not great. The rebound by Moody. The Warriors have gone just five of 12 here in the second quarter. And let’s swing it over to the sideline and hear from Ally. Well, guys, with the yearly roster moves, it might be hard for the casual fan to keep track, but Commissioner Silver said it’s a necessary side effect. He said, quote, “We tried to tie performance to pay in a closer way, and I think that’s what you see with shorter contracts.” Brian, more player movement has been the result. Yeah, good point, Ally. Thanks. Shooting two. First one falls for him. And both free throws good for Edwards. Golden State has gone one for three from downtown here in the second. Curry against Maxi. Pass to Heel. Green with the ball. Guarded by Edwards. Edwards pulls it in. Edwards has got rebound number five here tonight. Now Drummond and the deficit down inside single digits. He’s going to punish you if you leave him open. He’s more than willing to take the open three when he’s got it. Drummond defending the kick out. Curry lets the three fly. Drummond grabs the miss. The 76ers shooting at 30% here in the second. guarded by Heel. Another shot and Drummond with the layin. Drummond’s gotten his second bucket of the game. Well, Drummond’s going to move you out of the way through contact at 300 plus lbs. That is a big man to try to keep out of the lane. Timeout called the Warriors and the other team is running all over them right now. the timeout before the timeout here. Maybe just to cut off the momentum and have a chitchat with the team to settle down. Heat. Heat. And the 76ers making a change here. Walkers checked in. And the Warriors making a change here. The Warriors leading. Back to Curry. Hey, he’s looking good so far. Four for eight from the field. Enjoy watching Curry getting it done this time in the mid-range. Curry against Maxi over to the left wing. Clock at six. from 11 ft away. That’s another miss. One for seven in this contest. Golden State has gone one of four from three-point land here in the second. I think he rushed that one just a little bit thinking the defense was going to get close. They weren’t. George passes to Walker. Drummond inside and the jam by Drummonds. Yeah, Drummond’s going to go right back up into that physical play and he’s still going to finish strong. Walker covering back to Curry from the ark. rebound by the 76ers and the defense got away with one there. I mean, that’s a shot he typically makes. They’re punishing those late defensive rotations, getting good looks inside throughout the half. And a look at how the hustle game has been going for Philadelphia. It’s all about the offensive boards. I mean, they’re just a statement about toughness, trying to demoralize your opponent by outworking them, out hustling them. Well, they really cashed in on the break. I mean, it feels like they’re hungry to get out. They’re hungry to run, and they’re not passing up any chances to leak out and score. So, it’s the Warriors now. 13 points was their biggest lead of the game. Here’s Heield and some very quick points for him on that possession. And the Warriors lead by five. Two teammates connecting right there. Slick feed. Back to Maxi. The 11-footer. Drummond passes to George with the 10-footer. Nice jump shot. George has got 10. He might operate primarily on the perimeter playing out of pick and roll and spotting up for threes, but PG could score on the inside. Back to heel beyond the arc. Drummond grabs the miss. Drummond’s got rebound number 12 here already in the game. Golden State has gone just one of six from the perimeter here in the second. The Sixers trailing. The kick out to Walker. Goes back up. that one a little long. Well, he wants that one over again. I guarantee that. Nobody’s even in the neighborhood. And you never want to give a shooter like him a clean look. George right side pass to Drummond. Yes. And it’s George picking up the assist. Drummond’s got six here in the quarter. Drummond has a lot of ways to beat you down low and his points are coming deep in the paint now. Back to Curry. 41 seconds left in the second. Walker covering. Doesn’t go that time. And it’s Philadelphia the other way. George outside. And that misses. That would have put him up. And the Warriors shooting at 30% here in the second. Walker with the steel. And now the Sixers on the break. And George with the jam. Oh man, Paul George right now he’s on fire. And the D looking hopeless. Here’s Curry. And it’s in. Oh, nails the buzzer beater. Are you kidding? I always love the hard work on the glass. Just great activity. And a pretty tightly contested game here as we end the first half. Warriors ahead, leading by a point. All right, now let’s check in with Ally Leforce. Ally, what do you have? Joel, you hold the lead now, but how do you build on that as the game continues? Uh, just keep being aggressive. I thought we did a good job defensing this. Uh we just got to keep being aggressive and making plays. A lot of times defense leads to offense. Thanks Joel Ally as always. Thank you. We’ll be back right after the break for the third quarter here on 2K Sports. The 2K Sports Halftime Show. Hey folks, welcome back. Ernie Johnson alongside the Jet. That’s Kenny Smith, the diesel. That’s Shaquille O’Neal. A lot of big time action so far in this one. Golden State found themselves in a close game in the first and they kept it close. It’s trailing by at the most four points. They were outscored by just just a bit in the second quarter as they go into the break now holding just a one-point advantage. Taking a look at the Warriors. Kenny, what you think? Well, if you compare the assist numbers, you can see who’s been the superior team and they’re playing a much better brand of basketball. That bolds well for them the rest of the way. And over to Shaq. What did you think about Philadelphia? Well, those second chance points are huge and they only came because of their effort. Their work on the offensive glass is what’s keeping them in the game. They definitely should try to continue to stay tough on the glass has been key so far. And that should do it with the second half about to begin. Let’s send you back to Kevin Harland. Go back to Kevin Harland. Go just go over there. And if you’re just joining us, we’ve played through the first half in a game that’s been fairly even so far. Paul George has been sensational. He’s been excellent at cutting through the defense and giving them fits around the basket. Yeah, you want these kind of nights where you can start to see those openings before they happen. Here’s George on the floor for the Warriors. The kick out to Edwards. Six to shoot. Backy passes to George. And it’s all from three-point range. The Warriors leading the kick out. Curry. He’s covered by Ubé and the layup is good off the glass. Six points for him. A great move. I mean, the defense has no response. Well, just ripping through right there as he finds the open spot and gets right through there. High basketball IQ play. Here’s Embiid and the rebound goes to the Warriors. 13 points was their biggest lead of the game. The three from Curry. The rebound by Maxi. It’s another just bad decision on a night full of those. His shot selection tonight has been questionable at best. Right side Ubé. Here’s George. Misses off the right iron. Well, the Warriors shooting just 31% in today’s game. Not great. And the powerful one-handed slam. The defenders are trying to keep pace with Jimmy Butler, but there’s enough space for him to spot the rim and knock it down. Right side Maxi and a missed layup. The Warriors have got two of three from the floor in this third quarter. And the improvement of Tyrese Maxis three-point shot from his first season to second year just unprecedented. He improved by over 12% with a huge increase in attempts as well. Now here’s Green and again it’s Golden State. Well, right now Jimmy Butler is in the zone. Boy, they’d love if anyone could get a bucket. Yeah, their offense has been grinding to a halt. Back to Ubé. And looks like an illegal pick was set. That gets the ref’s attention. And for a player with the speed and quickness of Maxi Grant, leveling up that three-point shot changes everything for him. Oh, so true, BA. It becomes pick your poison with him. And it put him in a conversation last year for most improved player. George defending. Here’s Curry. Some solid defense from Maxi. The 76ers have gotten off to a rough start. Now 0 for five in the second. And he makes it. Good play call and good execution. The offense running on all cylinders. George defending and a deep three from Curry. And it’s Philadelphia with the rebound. Embiid’s got nine rebounds in the game. Boy, he’s getting it done. Here’s Ubé. No good on the shot. The Warriors have gone three of seven here in this third quarter. Outside Curry. He’s covered by Ubé. That one’s wide left. Not a bad shot from the mid-range. The D’s giving it to him and he’s usually got an eye in that kind of range. Yeah, maybe a little luck, maybe a little bit of heart. Both of those at play here. He’s getting every offensive rebound. Golden State has got nothing to fall from outside in this third quarter. Charity stripe shot. Curry. That’s good. Curry’s got 11 points. With the utmost belief in his game, he’s able to beat opponents in a number of ways. Pass to UB. Back to George and he makes it on the layup. He’s got 14. UB will draw some attention as a scorer, but that’s going to open up some passing lanes and he doesn’t make a mistake that time. Down low and a foul called on the way up. So, he’ll take two from the free throw line. It’s going to go on Paul George. Everyone in the building saw the obvious contact. All right. Well, a look at how the points have been generated so far. A scoring breakdown for the Warriors. Yeah. What stood out to me was their passing. They moved the ball effortlessly and have been able to find those holes in the defense. Well, they’ve also put an emphasis on driving inside in this game. The defense hasn’t been able to stop them from finding those gaps. And he drops a first. So much has been given by Jimmy Butler over the years. It’s hard to believe it took him a little while to make his mark early in his career. Both shots good from the strike. And Butler didn’t get selected until the last pick of the 2011 draft. Bren, a lot of teams regret passing on him. Yeah, you could say that again, VA. Once he did get the chance to play, it did not take long to see just how special Jimmy Butler could be. By his third year, he led the league in minutes and he’s just a guy you always want on the floor. The Warriors have gone four of nine in the third quarter. Takes one from 10 ft. Second shot opportunity and that’s two points on the layup. Have to take care of the defensive boards better than that. Yeah, you just can’t afford to give up second chance opportunities again and again. Now here’s George. 14 points for him. Six on the shot clock. Embiid misses. The Warriors have gone five of 11 in this third quarter. George defending. Paul George pulls it in. George has got his fourth rebound in this one. Pass to Edwards. Let’s go with a three. They get it again. And there’s the bucket. Staying with it that time. offensive glass getting it done. I like watching Embiid attack on the inside using his size and soft touch to capitalize. And here is Green inside. Curry no good. Yeah, better than giving up the layup. You want to go in there and use the hard foul. They did it there. That’s aggressive attitude defensively. It’s stolen by Curry. tries to break his ice and he drops that one in. Give him eight. The Sixers trailing. They’ve been having major pro problems offensively. Definitely in a bit of a dry spell. Left block shot on the way and that one hits the back iron. And here are the Warriors now. They’re on a 14-6 run. Oh, trying his luck from deep. It’s hauled in by the Sixers. George has got five rebounds tonight. Pass to Maxi. And it’s Stephan Curry with the rebound. Curry’s got a rebound number five here tonight. Wasted no time with that shot, but it’s off the mark. Pass to George. Here’s Embiid. He’s off on that one. And Golden State will go the other way with him. The three. Nails it from three. And the Warriors lead by 12. Such an effective shooter. If you lose track of him defensively, he’s gonna make you pay. And Philadelphia calls time here. Well, they’ve been turning that ball over way too much and they really need to address this if they want to win this game. Huddle up, boys. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. So both teams changing it up here. Pass to Walker out left to the wing to the middle. Now here’s Drummond. Yes, great play by Walker to set it up. Drummond’s got 10 points in the game. Once he saw the smaller defender guarding him, he took it right to the rack. Green with the ball. Shoots over Walker. Walker pulls down the board. Walker’s got four rebounds in the game. Pass to Drummond. Good. And that makes him six for nine. A quality game for him so far. Now that’s excellent. Get the ball down deep inside and cash in on a simple basket. Here’s Moody. Six points for him. And he gets it to go as they call the foul. He’s on his way to the line for one more. How about the focus? Steph going on the inside. Has great numbers as a finisher. One shot. That one misses for Curry. And we talk so much about Curry being the best shooter after he makes a three, but there’s a lot more to it. I mean, this guy’s also the most accurate free throw shooter of all time. So, it’s pure no matter where it comes from. Now, here’s George. 14 points for him. And yep, it’s good. And he’s not the reason that they’re trailing in this one. He’s been on his game. It’s a few of the other guys that need to pick it up. Outstanding triple drive. And that replay was brought to you by Mobile One. You know, that’s the kind of play that can really start a run. He knows a little momentum can get them back even. Here’s Curry. He’s got 13. Here’s Moody. So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. The first free throw is good. That one falls. So he hits both of them. Philadelphia’s got nothing to fall here in the third. 0 for four. Outside Walker George outside pass to Drummond. Clock at six. There’s the triple and the 76ers get it back. Big rebound and a smart play to kick it right out. They want to use as much time as possible here. Now Walker. Oh, just couldn’t take the lid off. They had their chances. Came up empty. Pretty lax defense there. He’s going to see fewer and fewer chances if he can’t bury those kind of jumpers. Willing passers, unselfish play. You have to appreciate this kind of offense. Pass to Drummond to the inside and the officials whistle a foul on the shot. The bucket is good and he’ll go to the line. This is when the game slows down for a big man like Andre Drummond. He can make those kind of plays. One shot. And the free throw no good. Golden State has gone two of six from downtown here in the second half. And it’s heel missing. They’ve got a chance here to cut the deficit to within 10. Pass to George. There’s the three. It’s rebounded by Golden State. Tipped away. Healed against Walker. Offline with a three. And for Philadelphia, they’re shooting a low 28% during this third. The rebound by Moody and the Warriors shooting around 41% in the third quarter. Rejected by George. Oh, George has such great defensive instincts. The length and then the read that time. He’s covered by Curry. Puts it up from 12. It doesn’t go for him. And for the Warriors, they’re shooting around 33%. Not the best offensive efficiency. Ooh, nice D from George. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors closing out the quarter ahead by 11 points. just pounding the painted area. That’s helped them build an advantage. More 2K action in just a moment. And there have been two very different performances from these teams today as we get going in quarter number four. Paul George out there with Edwards. Then there’s Tyrese Maxi. Then it’s Joel Embiid. And it’s Ubé in at the two guard. That’s the group in the game for the 76ers. Now here’s George outside. Maxi pass to Embiid inside. Here’s George. Good. And the assist to Embiid. You can’t discount Embiid’s value as a passer. That vision and court awareness. These are traits a team loves to have in a big man. Here’s Green. Lets it fly with nobody on him. He buries that jumper. And the Warriors lead by 11. That’s the kind of passing right there that makes a difference, not just in that possession, but maybe on your play for the entire game. Now here’s Embiid. It’s rebounded by Golden State. Green’s got rebound number nine now. What an effort here tonight. And here’s Curry for three. And Joel Embiid pulls it down. Embiid’s got rebound number 13 tonight with that one. Blue passes to Maxi. Embiid with it. Five on the clock over Green. Embiid can’t hit. Golden State has gone 0 for two from outside here in the fourth quarter. And so he draws the foul. Headed to the line to shoot a pair. Two shots. Elbow two. The first one falls. and good on the second. So he makes them both. The 76ers have gotten just one shot to fall fall out of three attempts in the fourth. Now here’s George back to Ubé and he caught that pass in full stride on his way to the big slam. Well UB the closer he gets the more excitable he can be. What a finish. Pass to Curry. That one is off. So, Philadelphia will take it the other way. Edwards. The pass to Maxi George with it outside. UB three-pointer. It’s rebounded by Jimmy Butler. The Warriors shooting 32% for this game. Not what they’re hoping for. And the call is going to be Yes. An illegal screen. You can get away with one once in a while, but it looked like he wasn’t completely set on that pick. Yeah, quick little lean like that is going to get the ref’s attention. Foul call. It’s great to see a fantastic block on replay once again. Let’s see if that block can amp up this team. I mean, they’re looking for anything to get themselves going. They need something good to happen here. Yeah, they’ve gone way too long without a score. Pass to Embiid. Here’s Ubé. George passes to Edwards. And here’s George. had a chance there to cut it to single digits, but it’s off target. Golden State has gone 0 for two from outside here in the fourth quarter. Joel Embiid with the board. The 76ers have gotten only two of six attempts. The drop in the fourth and Tyrese Maxi gets the whistle that time. That’s his first foul of the game. And great job to establish position and square up outside. Green George defending down low. Here’s Curry and a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. That’s on Joel Embiid. That’s a wonderful use of the pump fake. Who is it that’s not going to respect Steph Curry faking you out on a shot attempt? Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And that one falls for Curry. And so Curry nails both of them. This Sixer squad is struggling so far in the fourth. They’ve allowed just six points. Back to Ubé outside. Edwards. He can’t get that one to fall. Green with the defensive effort from the high post. The rebound by Embiid. Embiid’s got 15 rebounds here tonight. Curry against Maxi. Shoots over Curry. Offensive rebound. He got a piece of it. Great defense from Jimmy Butler judging when that shot was going up and getting the rejection. Ooh, nice D from George. Well, if you believe in the numbers, that mid-range shot is not a high value shot, even with little or no defense on you. And good whistle there. And he can’t get the first one. So neither attempt will fall that time for him. Golden State has gone 0 for three here in the fourth. Here’s Green and it’s hammered home by Green. For all the things that Draymond does, when he gets dunks, it makes him even more excitable. And Philadelphia calls time here, trying anything now to get them out of this slump. Well, they can’t find the net right now. And all they need, I think, is just to get one to go, get back on track. Time now to hear from our reporter Ally Leforce. I had a chance to find out what Nick Nurse was discussing with his players. He was trying to ignite some fire, saying, “Where’s the fight, you guys? You know, we can compete with this team, but we’re letting them run all over us. We’ve got to level up the aggressiveness.” Back to you as always, Ally. We thank you. just not sure if he ran out of energy at halftime or what, but so far just not himself in the second half. And he’s doing things on the glass tonight that we don’t often see. Well, this kind of effort effort will energize the team and get you going. Just gobbling up every board. Here’s Embiid. Goes back up and he lays it in. What concentration from the process. Embiid not phased at all by the bump. Embiid covers. Shot clock at six. Looking to end this cold spell. Misses off the left iron. I know he’s on a cold streak, but he can’t let that get in his head. especially if you’re a player that doesn’t get a lot of shot attempts, but otherwise the mindset is I just got to get the next one to go and you don’t want to put that much pressure on yourself. Well, the Warriors shooting just 31% in today’s game. Not great. To the paint. Philadelphia grabs the miss. They’re doing what they can do to mount a comeback. NBA, they don’t have to get it all back at once. Just focus on making every possession count. Now, here’s Edwards. George passes to Embiid to the wing on the left. Here’s Maxi. The offensive rebound tries again and the bucket counts and he is on his way to the line. He’ll try to make it a three-point play. He’s so tough to stop. Even when you hit Embiid, he possesses the strength to muscle shots in The free throw drops for Embiid. A funloving player on and off the court. Embiid continues to get better. One of the league’s top big men. George defending. outside. Curry shoots over Maxi. Curry gets the bucket. Steph, such an ideal pick and roll guy. The threat of the long ball always there. So whether he’s shooting or passing, the defense has a hard time keeping up. Now here’s Ubé to the middle. Here’s Maxi. Laid it in with a nice touch off the window. just can make it so much easier for your teammate when you throw that lead pass that gets to him right on the money. Whether that’s on the run or in the shooting pocket. Floats one rebound by the 76ers. Embiids and he takes that one up and powers it through. Incredible. It sometimes falls to the point guard to be the offensive catalyst. Seems like he always knows when his squad needs a lift. Did you see how much air he had under him? Wow. George defending doesn’t go for him. So Philadelphia will take it the other way. Three-pointer. The Warriors pull it in. Green’s got 13 rebounds in the game. Aim glass heating. Pass to Curry inside and it’s hammered home by Green. Oh, not the defensive effort they need to cut into the lead. Boy, good call. You have to at least try to protect the rim. Good job to recognize the opportunity. That’s just very solid offense. The turnaround. There’s another rebound. Rebound after rebound after rebound. He is crashing with energy, man. You got to love it. Curry against Maxi. And the basket by Curry. Curry’s got 10 points here in the second half. I don’t know if Curry is in the first, second, or third ring of the circus. But those circus shots are looking pretty routine. And no lack of aggression on that move. Good for the 2K drive. making an impact. I love the aggression. Playing on that front foot and looking to expand their lead. Another shot. The turnaround. Jay can’t hit that one. And George with some nice D down low and Edward slams it in. That’ll be a move to remember. Wow. Yeah. Great creativity in the air. And let’s take another look at that exceptional drive thanks to Mobile One. Big time drive and finish. Showing a little artistry on that take. I could watch moves like that all day. Now here’s Curry. And there’s the foul. It’s on Joel Embiid. That’s his third foul of the game. And the Warriors making a change here. Moody’s checked in. Now a timeout called by Golden State. They’re on top by eight. There’s a minute 54 left to play in the fourth quarter of this one. Heat. Heat. And now let’s Let’s take a look at the New Balance player of the game, Stephen Curry. Yeah, really the standout element of this game tonight was his offense and his ability to get inside but cutting the defense to shreds, finding lanes, even making them and relentlessly attacking the hoop. I’m telling you, the added pressure of the road really brings out the best in him. You can tell he enjoyed playing so well in front of an unfriendly crowd. There’s a minute 54 left in the fourth. The floater offensive rebound misses from close range. The 76ers running out of time. Left side. Maxi. Pass to Embiid. Warriors with the rebound. Here’s Moody. Outside. Curry for three. Joel Embiid pulls it down. just showing some tremendous authority controlling the boards. Love it. Sort of reminding me of a little Ben Wallace action here from his years with the Pistons. He’s been that much of a force rebounding the ball. Now here’s Curry and he drops in the layup off the glass. That’s tough. Tough finish. Steph’s not just a great shooter, but really great numbers through the years as being an elite finisher. And Philadelphia calls time here. They’re down by seven. 52 seconds left to play in the fourth. Heat. Heat. Yeah. Heat. 52 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Here’s Maxi. The shot off that time. Curry with some nice D. Green with the ball. Ubé picks him up and he’ll take a trip to the line for two. Clearly got fouled on that shot. How about Draymond rising up into the contact. He’s a good offensive player who finds his way this time to get to the free throw line. Oh, the first of two. No good. A heartbreaker. So, he comes up empty at the line. So, it’s Philadelphia now. Seven-point differential. And he’s going to the line for two. The official saw contact while he was going up. Oh man, the defender really went after him. And so he makes both from the line. Time out. Time out. Time called here. The Warriors decide to talk it over. They’re ahead by five. 29 seconds left in the fourth. 29 seconds left in the fourth quarter and that’s an intentional foul. Well, Clark, no shortage of experience on the floor tonight. Two veteran teams going at it. And what that screams at me, Kevin, is leadership. When you got that kind of experience, you’ve got leadership. We’ve got players on both sides who can be coaches on the floor for their respective clubs, and that’s something a lot of teams don’t have. Now, Golden State’s starting five. On its way from Curry for two, and the shot is long. You You almost have to assume he’s going to knock those down when he is that open. From deep, George. No good on that one. And Golden State will come the other way. Pass to Curry. Shoots. He squares up and sinks it. We know Curry has tremendous vision and he uses it to tee up his teammates for easy shots. Passes it to George. Ambiid is at the elbow. and contact on the shot. So, he’ll be shooting free throws here. And it goes on Draymond Green. Oh, the officials are all over that one. Clearly a foul. I mean, didn’t give him any choice but to blow the whistle. I mean, you got to play without fouling. Shooting two. The free throw drops for Embiid. Well, Grant, what can you say about Joel Embiid’s growth from a leadership perspective? Pretty impressive, isn’t it? Tremendous, Kevin, carrying the Sixers with everything they went through, even though he came in second in MVP voting two years in a row. No player more important to his team than Joel Embiid. and MBI drops them both. And Greg, the Philadelphia 76ers have made it very clear that they are all in on a title run. And their front office has been very focused on trying to get top tier talent on this roster. After the trust the process era, they’re now aggressively pursuing titles here in Philly. Here’s Green. It’s hauled in by Edwards. Well, you will not see that from him very often, especially right at the rim. And it’s George finishing it off. Well, George rising up with great confidence and strength. Threw it down with authority. No one. Nero can’t get it to fall. And he’s missed the second after making his first. Pass to Maxi. Back to George and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Lets the three fly. That one falls. His second basket of the game. He’s now two for three. And you know, for a big man, I think Green is one of the better dimeroppers in the league. I mean, he’s a true point forward who has excellent vision and sees the floor well. Now, here’s Ubé. up again. And Green plays the game with passion. I mean, nowhere is that more apparent than in his defense. There is no such thing as an easy shot when Draymond’s on you. Kicks it to Kurt. His three-pointer’s off the mark. Just enough coverage to bother that three-point attempt. Here’s Edwards. No good. Shot missing. The Warriors go the other way with it. Let’s check in with our reporter David Aldridge. Well, I talked with head coach Steve Kerr. Hey, look. He knows they’ve got great shooters who can score from anywhere in distance. He thinks his team can go toe-to-toe with anybody in the league there. and he won’t be pulling back the reigns even if they start missing a few. Back to you Kevin. Thanks David. Always want to get those threes falling consistently. Now here’s Ubé after the miss from Stephan back to UB. Can’t connect from short range. Golden State’s gone one and two from long range in the first quarter. And here is Curry still getting warmed up offensively. No scoring yet from him. Playing with attitude and no fear. That’s Jimmy Butler. Now here’s Maxi. 76ers moving the ball around. Now the pass to Edwards. Now here’s MB. Defense is right there. Good for the basket. Starting off one for one with that shot. That’s a nice soft touch from Embiid. Well, he’s so smooth for a guy of his size. Scoring inside for him looks effortless. Guarded by Embiid. On the clock, it’s Curry outside. Cans it from downtown. Anytime Curry gets a look from deep, he’s letting it fly and he’s probably knocking it down, too. Maxi finds Embiid. Here’s Ubé and oh boy, a lot of contact there, but he gets the call and will shoot two. During his childhood, Hurricane Katrina forced Kelly Ubé Jr’s family out and they had to move. And the UB family moving from New Orleans to Houston. Kelly saying he still thinks about the day his family left Nola feels lucky they found a new home. Super two. Free throw. Good. Uber. Second free throw, no good. And as good as Draymond Green has been on the floor, this guy will be an alltime broadcaster. Already a popular podcast. Great TV studio appearances as well. Now here’s Maxi after the miss from Stephen Curry. Maxi kicks to Ubé. Pass to George. Shoots over Curry. George, no good. And Draymond Green, the next broadcasting star. You’ve watched his work. Why is that? And Kevin, I think his basketball IQ is incredible. And we see that when he plays, but he can also vocalize it to the audience. And of course, Draymond is not afraid to say what he thinks. Now, here’s Curry. Paul George unable to get his shot to go. Fires the three. It’s hauled in by George and close to making the defense pay for the lack coverage that time. Right side Maxi. Here’s Embiid. Score the basket. His second of two attempts. And we’ve seen several lead changes tonight. Neither team giving an inch. Yeah. And the lead has changed hands and it just hasn’t stayed in those hands very long when it’s changed. Back and forth we go. And the Warriors decide to take their first time out here. There aren’t many players with a quicker first step than Tyrese Maxi. And I love the way he uses it to his advantage, Greg. I mean, he’s got an athletic advantage over most of the guys that are defending him. And he’ll exploit it every chance he gets. But that quick first step and fearlessness, lethal combination Heat. Heat. defended by George. Some nice passing by Golden State. And looks like the illegal pick was set. Yep, that’s right. That’ll get their attention. Beyond the leaning, you could see his feet weren’t set on that screen. Easy call. Yeah, I agree. You know, sometimes that can be a tough call for the refs to make, but not that time. It was easy there. Now, here’s Maxi. No points in the game for him. Passes to Embiid. from 12 ft out. Doesn’t go that time. And it’s the Warriors taking it the other way to the inside. Green shooting foul. As the whistle blows, he’ll shoot two free throws. What I appreciate most about Green is his leadership. Strong vocally on and off the floor. First trip to the free throw line for him in this one. You know, this is not an area where they expect him to contribute. You know, he’s a guy that shot below 70% last season. And you know, that’s not the kind of percentage any player wants to see next to his name at the end of the season. That’s good from Green. Drummond’s checked in for Edwards. And both free throws good for Green. The 76ers trailer. Maxi into the lane and slam dunk by Maxi. Well guys, this first half has been about as tightly contested as you could hope for. There have been a lot of lead changes. My goodness. Pass to Moody outside. Curry from 13 shot and it’s Green missing. Well, you know, stopping him is never easy to do, but the defense was strong there. Maxi against Curry. Here’s Embiid. The shot is good and so is his shooting tonight. Three for four. Hey, good luck trying to move Embiid off the block. If Joel has position, there’s not much anybody can do to stop him. Here’s Jay. He’s been patient so far. Nothing on the scoreboard yet. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. tries from 16. He shoots again. That one is good from Joel Embiid. Embiid’s got 10. Well, you know, there’s only so much you can do against Embiid, guys. I mean, he’s such a terrifically skilled offensive player with great size. I mean, he plays pretty much through any kind of contact. And Draymond Green picks up the foul. That’s foul number two for him. But he is checked in for Green. Philadelphia leading by five. Guarded by Ker outside Walker over healed. Here’s Truman. Nice work on the board. It’s paying off with the basket and the 76ers lead by seven. Now a timeout called by Golden State and the lack of rim protection top of the list. Yeah, you know, just look at the numbers, guys. I mean, they are being taken to the woodshed in the paint. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. And the Warriors with possession here. They trail by seven. Heel kicks to Curry. Moody. The pass to Curry. The pass to Jay. Six to shoot. Back to Curry. Takes the assist and lays it in. Picked out the pass nicely. Curry’s got five now. You know, at close range, Curry has a plethora of shots. You simply can’t allow him to get those looks. Pass to Walker. Latay. And that’s out of bounds. Philadelphia will retain possession and Drummond kicks to Walker. Five to shoot the three. Here’s Embiid. And at last they get one to fall. 12 points for him. Powerful move by Embiid right there. He makes beating the defense look easy. Outside Curry. Golden State moving the ball around. Here’s Jay defended by Drummond. Jay misses and it’s Drummond with the ball. He’ll bring it up for Philadelphia. They lead by seven. Walker dishes to Drummond. Now here’s MB defense right on him. Shoots from the block off the mark. Only his second miss in seven attempts. Moody the pass to Heel. 125 left in the first. On its way from Curry for two and the jumper falls for him. Curry’s release is so quick as a defender, you can’t afford to give him any space. You can’t lay off at all. Passes it to Drummond. Walker taking his time here. Second shot opportunity. He’ll put back. Philadelphia with a new shot clock. Embiid. No good. Not a friendly rim at all. This trip down. Pass to heel. He kicks to Curry. Here’s Jay. He’s been quiet so far. Still no points in the game and stolen by Drummond. Guarded by Ker. The pass to Embiid. Now here’s Walker. Two free throws coming up and they call the shooting foul. It’s on Jimmy Butler. The 76ers have shot 75% at the line tonight going three for four. And one of the highlights last year for this group was the fact that they were so efficient from the charity strike. That’s a huge factor. You know, success at the line just became contagious for them. A few guys got on a roll and it carried over to the rest of the team. And that one falls for Walker. And the Warriors making a change here. That one misses. So he goes one for two. Now here’s Moody. Here’s Santos. Good challenge that time by Embiid using all that length quite well. And so it’s the Philadelphia 76ers with a six-point lead at the end of the quarter. They’re pounding the ball in side and that’s where they’ve gotten their best production tonight. Right back after this break. And if you’re just joining us, we’ve played through one quarter in this one. And looking at what we’ve seen so far, guys, from the 76ers, what are your thoughts? Just cashing in on second chance opportunities. That’s how they built this early lead. Boy, grinding it out on the glass. They’ve really been working for those points. And something that’s been on the uptick in the NBA is free throw shooting. Leaguewide, Clark, teams are having more success from the stripe than ever before. The 2020s are on pace, Kevin, to be the best free throw shooting decade in the history of the game. with skilled players now favored relative to the old school bangers. I mean, everybody pretty much has to be able to knock down shots to be effective as a player in today’s game. So, the free throw shooting percentage is going up. Not much of a surprise to me. Setting the floor for the Warriors. The Warriors shooting their third and fourth free throw shots of the night. That’s good from Stephen Curry and one of the more clever players in the game. Curry takes pride in towing with opposing defenses. And both free throws good for Curry. Probably as close to a sure thing as you can have at the free throw line. Maxi kicks to George. Pass to Drummond. UB outside offline with his three. Not quite enough defense that time around. Just lucky he was off. Down low. Here’s Santos. That shot misses. Excellent Dy there from George. Philadelphia leading by four. No one near Maxi as he lets it fly. That falls. Nice feed that time from George. Oh, nice work finding the open man by George. Plays like this prove he’s a team player. Golden State moving it around. Pass to Kurt. Just five on the clock over Maxi. That one a little long. 76ers have gone one of three to turn out the second quarter. He feeds it to Ubé. Back to Maxi. Jacks up a three and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Green’s got six rebounds here tonight. The shot by Curry no good. And so George will bring it up for the Philadelphia 76ers. only given up two points this quarter and it’s sent back by George. George clearly one of the best two-way players in the game. He never takes a play off defensively. And the call is going to be Yes. Yes, it is. An illegal screen and not the most common call you’ll see in the NBA, but hard to argue that pick wasn’t illegal. Yeah, you know, the officials aren’t nearly as lenient as they used to be on that call. As a matter of fact, I know I got away with a lot of those in my playing days, but that was 40 years ago. Well, in spite of the critics and the injuries, Paul George continues to produce one of the league’s truly elite players. And there’s the whistle. Illegal screen. Now Maxi pass to Ubé. And you mentioned the injuries for Paul George. Uh let’s see. G the broken leg, shoulder surgeries last season, a torn elbow ligament. And I’m sure there are a few others, Kevin, but give him credit. To battle through and maintain his greatness tells you something about his competitive will. Shooting two. Free throw. Good. New Jimmy Butler. He’s checked in for the Warriors. Good on both. And here in the second quarter of action with a hair under two and 1/2 minutes played so far. Kept alive. No good with the layup. The 76ers leading by eight. To the middle. Here’s Maxi. He’s one of the most feared wing defenders in the league. Butler rejecting the shot. Beautiful. Another miss and they’ve really hit a rough patch here. Here’s Edwards and he can’t extend the lead to double digits. Warriors trail by eight. There’s the pass to Curry. And again, no good by Golden State. You know, he’s just not taking good shots, not taking smart shots. Forcing up a lot of low percentage jump there. Curry against Maxi. Shoots over Curry. Drummond controls the rebound and puts it back up and in. Drummond’s got the lead up to 10 now for the 76ers. This is what Drummond is known for, fellas. I mean, assertive, aggressive, relentless, hardworking. He’s just a dog at offensive rebound. Back to Curry. And the officials calling for a 3second violation. Philadelphia leading by 10 outside George. Maxi in the corner. Shot clock at six. looking to end his cold spell. Curry with the rebound. Nothing seems to be going his way this quarter. To me, it appears he’s starting to lose his composure a little bit. We’ll see if he can regroup and get back into a better rhythm. Ubé outside, kicks it to George. the three. Here’s Drummond. And Drummond throws it down. Few players get more dunks than Drummond. He’s a center who plays like a traditional center, looking to throw it down every chance he gets. Timeout called the Warriors. You can see the coach very displeased with their defensive effort on the glass. They’re giving up a bunch of second chance points. They got to get that corrected. Heat. Heat. And it’s Curry with the ball bringing it up for Golden State. A 12-point game right now. Let’s send it over to the sidelines and get a report from David Aldridge. Thanks very much. In recent years, the NBA has opened several internationalmies. Commissioner Adam Silver says huge numbers of people are playing basketball, but unless you take the best at a young age, get them facing elite competition and training under high pressure circumstances, they won’t develop into NBA caliber players. Kevin, well, opening doors, David, that’s always a good thing. Expansion. Thank you. Here’s Ubé. The Warriors making the shot. They get the rebound. Here’s Drummond. UB outside. Goes back up. The shot no good. Great T that time from Green. to the paint. Golden State moving it around. Pulls up. Had a chance there to cut it to single digits, but it’s off target. The 76ers leading by 10. Lobed up there for Drummond. And it’s Drummond with the jam. How about the superb anticipation from Drummond sensing the opportunity to go for the alleyoop and then converting in style. Back to Curry, releases, and Philadelphia grabs the miss. Left side Maxi and it’s out of bounds. Nice touch by Curry and the Warriors making a change here. Moody’s checked in. left side. Maxi Embiid trying to break loose. Trains it from beyond the arc and the 76ers lead by 15. Pick works well there. Not much resistance from the deep. Yeah, that’s not the defense you need. You got to be tougher defensively. Pass to Moody. passes it to Green for the three. Moody’s shot is off. And every miss finds its way to his hands. Well, what an impressive performance. Tell you what, those are crazy numbers, guys. I mean, believe me, I was a good rebounder in my day. It is not easy to corral that many boards in one night. How frustrating for the defense. You get the stop but then fail to block out. Well, you know, that’s the way it’s going to be for them today, fellas. Can’t sustain any momentum. He’s covered by Max. Shot to stop the run. That one wide left. You know, the fact is he’s not a lock from there, but he was open enough to where he should have hit that shot. George looking over the floor. No good that time. And it’s the Warriors taking it the other way. Pass to Moody inside. Green breaking loose. Maxi grabs the miss. And there’s the pass to Embiid. Back to Maxi. Pass to Embiid. Lock at six. Slides through for his seventh basket in 11 tries. You know, with all he does offensively at his size, Joel Embiid is like a cheat code. special talent. When Joel Embiid entered the NBA, many questioned if he would be able to overcome the devastating injuries. Well, you know, he didn’t play his first two years in the league. Those questions were fair to ask. I mean, is this guy ever going to get on the court? But once he did, oh my, a monster. I’ve not seen a big guy do the stuff Joel Embiid can do. It’s actually insane. And here are the Warriors now after the made shot from Andre Drummond. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. Boy, you can just see the frustration growing on their faces. Nothing going their way. You know, guys, no denying it’s been a rough patch here. I think they’ve got to run whatever is best in their playbook to get a good shot. Takes a three. That one doesn’t drop. The Warriors go the other way with it. with the teardrop. The shot missing. Good D by Embiid. Maxi looking it over and the call on the shot that sends him to the line. The 76ers have shot 75% at the stripe. Six of eight. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And the first one at the line is good. See both teams changing it up here. He doesn’t get the second one. Golden State’s gone 0 or two from deep in the second. Here’s Jay and he drops in the layup off the glass. Well, I love the way he goes after it there. I mean, and you’ve got to respect that. He’s rewarded for his efforts of pursuing the ball. passes to Embiid and they double up Embiid and wrestling for it there but no one has possession. We’ll have a jump ball. So it’s the Warriors now. Warriors trail by 20. They could use a big shot here to get this offense going. Too many empty possessions right now. how they need the basket. And there’s the call. It’s going to be illegal screen. And guys, point of emphasis for the league is to really crack down on illegal screens. Yeah. You know, he might have gotten away with that a few years ago, but not anymore. No way. Now you’ve got to be stationary on those screens. No extra hips or elbows, or they’ll call it. There’s 57 seconds left in the first half of the game. This one for three. Buries the long range jumper. You know, a feed like this shows you how well-rounded Joel Embiid’s game is becoming and what a good teammate he is. He’s not just looking for his own. Now, here’s Moody. He’s still scoreless so far in this one. Here’s Green. That one’s rebounded by Embiid. And Bead’s got rebound number 13 for him here tonight. Here’s Maxi and that one clearly a foul. Gets the whistle and two shots coming up. That one is unhealed for Philadelphia. They have made seven free throws and miss three in this game. Shoot two free throw. Good. Maxi Maxi hits them both. And here’s Heel. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. 12 seconds left to play in the first half. Shot clock at five. No dice from the high post. So, as we conclude the first half, so far fairly one-sided. Philadelphia ahead, opening up a huge gap. We’ve got more in store for you right after this. And now, the 2K Sports Halftime Show. Hey and welcome back to the NBA on 2K Sports. Ernie Johnson here. If your name is Shaquille O’Neal, raise your hand, please. If your name is Shaquille O’Neal, raise your hand, please. I guess Shaq’s not here today. If your name is Kenny the Jet Smith, raise your hand, please. And I’m Kevin Harland. It was Joel Embiid who got hot in the first. He had 16 points and one assist. And from what we saw so far from the Sixers, Kenny, what’s your takeaway? They played smart. They took their time and limited mistakes. When you value each possession, you eventually will get the shot you want. But when you lose the ball, you have no control over the destiny. Shaq, how do you think the Warriors were playing? They’re getting abused in the paint defensively, letting their opponents set the tone. You can’t match up physically, you’re toast. That’s what the scoreboard is reflecting right now. Toast with butter. And that should do it with the second half about to begin. Let’s send you back to Kevin Harland. Go back to Kevin Harland. Go. Just go over there. And with the second half upon us, we’ll find out if this game becomes the route that it’s threatening to be. Joel Embiid has been sensational. Well, with a double double in hand through two quarters, you can just imagine what his statline will look like at the end of this one. Yeah, he’s got that locked in look in his eyes tonight and he’s not going to start taking it easy. I think he’s going to be going hard until that final whistle blows. And there wasn’t too much drama in the first half, but maybe things will tighten up here in the second. The 76ers shooting 34% from the field. That’s not going to get it done. They’ve got Edwards. Tyrese Maxi out there with Kelly Ubé. Then it’s Paul George and it’s Embiid in at the five. That’s the group on the floor for Philadelphia. Here’s George and a missed layup. And it’s the Warriors on the break. Rebound by the 76ers. Edwards finds Maxi. Philadelphia moving the ball around. from outside the arc. It’s not going to go for him. And Golden State will come the other way. Defended by George. And there’s the foul. It goes on Jimmy Butler. And that’ll be his third foul so far. Oh, great defense. there, anticipated the play and got there first. And not afraid to put his body on the line either. He took a shot for the team in that situation. Always good to get another look at a terrific defensive play. An emphatic rejection that was. Boy, you got to appreciate that kind of forceful, in-your-face defense. Now, here’s Maxi looking to get back on track here. And the layup is up and in. Maxis got the first points of the third quarter up on the board for Philadelphia. Oh, what an impressive dribble drive. That replay brought to you by Mobile One. And a drive like that one can be a knockout punch. Great finish at this juncture. Back to Curry from outside. Off the mark for Philadelphia. They’ve gone one of three since starting the second half. Bobbed up there for Edwards up high to stuff the alleyoop. And he pulls off the Houdini to make that catch and slam it through. Stupendous alleyoop. And the crowd got their jaws dropped on that one. Total disbelief. Now here’s Maxi. Nine points in the game so far. Ambiid with it. No good. And tight defense there. Bothered that shot. And the layup is good after a nice lead pass. Nine points in the game so far. Whatever the defense gives, that’s what he takes. A sign of a skilled offensive player. Here’s Maxi. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. Green’s got nine rebounds in the game. Getting it done. And it’s sent back by George. Basket is good. He’ll get a chance for one more at the line. Good. So it’ll be Jimmy Butler shooting. That one on George. The Warriors have been all four of their chances so far in this one. And just to mention, a season ago, they were very comfortable at the line, hitting about 78% of their free throws. One shot. Butler’s leadership the last few years has really been admirable. I mean, the guy simply wants to win and he’s willing to pay the price to do so. Maxi kicks to UB outside Maxi. Pass to UB. Draymond Green grabs the miss. Green’s got double digit rebound. now in the game. And the foul called on Edwards. That’ll be his second foul of the game. Third quarter action in just under three and a half minutes have gone. It’s held in by George. 76ers have gone two of seven from the field in the third. That leaves room for improvements here. Golden State’s gone 02 from deep to start things here in the second half. Outside Edwards banked in off the glass. Edwards got four points this quarter. Big miscommunication on defense. He recognizes it and quickly takes advantage. Boy, the defense looks shell shocked. I mean, they’re on the ropes right now on their heels. Rebound by Joel Embiid. Here’s George. And a lot of contact on that one. So, he’ll shoot two here. George knows how to get his man to overcommit and off balance so he can draw the foul. He’s got a number of sneaky veteran tricks that he effectively uses. Two shots last on the first. That free throw good from George And both free throws good for Paul George. And the Warriors with possession here outside Curry. Covered by UB trying his work from deep. UB pulls it in. 76ers have gone a lackluster three of nine from the field since halftime. Edwards can’t hit. There’s the three. It’s hauled in by the 76ers. All the time in the world to get that one off. Here’s Maxi. He can’t get it to go. Curry with the defensive effort from deep three-point range. He doesn’t hit that one. And Philadelphia the other way now. The pass to Maxi got a piece of it. Curry against Maxi. Golden State moving the ball around. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. And here’s Edwards. He’ll bring it up for the 76ers since halftime. They’ve only allowed five points. And he’s been a force on the glass all game long. Yeah. I love the way he’s fighting through box outs using his elbows. I mean, he’s doing whatever it takes. And that’s what Curry will do for you. force the defender to commit, absorb the contact, and get to the line. The Warriors have been good at the line so far. Five of five, shooting two. And he makes the first. And so he makes both from the line. They are enjoying the commanding lead and it really gives them the opportunity to give their starters a rest. Always critical when you get ready for that home stretch. Embiid kicks to George. Pass to Ubé front pass the ark and it’s Curry with the rebound. Curry’s got six rebounds here tonight. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. Oh, I like how Butler uses his body in the paint. Excellent at forcing the issue and getting the call close to the rack. He made the only free throw attempt he had earlier in the game. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And the first one drops. So he gets them both. Philadelphia’s gone 0 of two from deep to start things here in the second half. Outside George Ubé against Heielded UB can’t get it to go in the corner. It’s healed and the Warriors miss again. The 76ers shooting only 31% their offense really struggling to put possessions together. a big part of two Sacramento blockbuster trades. Buddy Heel went from New Orleans to Sacramento in the Demarcus Cousins trade. Here’s Drummond. Here’s Edwards. The layup off target. Passes it to Jay. Healed outside. Six on the shot clock and he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up. That one on George and Clark for Heield. Six years later, he was part of the Kings Pacers mega trade. Yeah, Kevin, that one sent Damontis a bonus to Sacramento. Heel showed his value as a player night in and night out in Sacramento and that created the trade value that allowed him to be moved for good players. He’s actually one of the best shooters you can find in the league in my opinion. He misses the free throw and very quietly. He is one of the best three-point shooters in our league as dangerous as they come. And the Warriors making a change here. And he sinks the second of 76ers leading by 23 outside George over Moody. They grab their own miss and Crumman throws it down. Nothing soft about the put back there. And why chance it, right? Take the dunk if you’ve got it. Well, you know, if nobody’s going to put a body on him, then that’s going to be the result. Curry looking around and the Warriors miss again. Philadelphia’s gone 0 of two from deep to start things here in the second half. Here’s George. Basket good. George has got six. When George is aggressive now, I think it energizes his whole team. Pass to Moody. Golden State moving the ball around. Healed. Can’t hit. They have been really controlling this one. You never want to be complacent on the floor. That’s when you lose momentum. Now here is George. He’s got six 18 ft out and Trummond is right there. He’s got 14. Oh, hard work and soft hands, guys. That’s what made that play possible. No simple offensive rebound there. Going for the tip in, but that’s the way to go if you’ve got good position. Now here’s Moody defended by George. Just five to shoot. Three-pointer heel. Rebound Andre Drummond. I’m shocked that didn’t turn into three points. I mean, he makes you pay on those nearly every time. Here’s Walker. It’s deflected and they’ll keep possession. And Drummond kicks to George. Sinks the three-pointer. George has got seven points for the quarter. Able to stretch the floor with his shooting. Paul George takes great pride in knocking down those triples. And the pass to Heel. Curry outside. Rebound by the 76ers. Guarded by Curry. Launches a three. Pulls in another board. Collecting yet another board. He’s been everywhere. Just sensational. Nice aggressive take that time by Drummond. goes right into the defender to get the shot off and a foul. And a moment here to take a look at the scoring breakdown for the 76ers. I like this throwback approach they’re taking, looking to score high percentage shots in the paint, and so far it’s working. They’ve been pounding any miss on the glass and cashing in on the offensive boards. Um, I’ve been impressed with that aspect of their game. That free throw, no good. No luck that time either. And here’s healed. He’ll bring it up for the Warriors. He kicks it to Kurt. Pass to Moody. And here is he outside. Curry. They could use a bucket and he’s good on the three ball. Curry’s got 14 points for the game. That’s the kind of D that you’re not going to find success with, guys. They’ve got to get a hand in the face. Here’s the three and no good. And it’s the Warriors taking it the other way from deep. Another three for Golden State. I mean, the range is just unreal. Curry can make even the toughest shots look easy. Passes it to George. The 76ers with another miss. And the Warriors with possession here. Pass to Moody. Curry against Walker. Here’s Jay. Andre Drummond grabs the miss. 23 seconds left to play in the third. Here’s George. Bucket is good. George has got nine points now in just the second half. George really efficient close to the hoop. He makes the most of just about every chance down low. On its way from Curry for two. And so it’s the Philadelphia 76ers in complete command. Their lead at 28 points going into the break. They’ve been playing some inspired defense, giving a very few easy points. We’ll return shortly. How about a look at today’s state pharmacist of the game? Just true art artistry right there. I mean, great decision on where to go with the ball. And how about the perfect delivery and they’d love to see every possession end this way. True team basketball. And one quarter to go in a game that to this point has not been an evenly fought contest. Setting the floor for the Warriors. We’ve got Jay. Buddy Heield is out there with Collins. And it’s Santos. And at the three, the small forward. Here’s Jay. Back to Collins. Here’s healed. Here’s Jay. Nails the 16-footer. The entire defense was frozen footed. Nobody picked up the shooter. The 76ers shooting just 31% in the game. There’s the pass to Watford. Another shot. The Warriors pull it in. Jay’s got it. got rebound number five here tonight. Fourth quarter of basketball. We’re about a minute into it. As to Collins. Golden State needs to get off a shot. Here’s Jay. Misses the three. And I think that one could have easily have fallen for him. Back to Walker. Good ball movement here by the 76ers. Here’s Watford. Oh, and that one had the right spin on it. And it is good. You know, as you add experience, you start to see the floor better. That was a sweet find by Drummond. Rebound by the 76ers. You can see he just rushed that a little bit. Lost the focus, I think. Gordon kicks to Walker, shoots, misses the J after tricking the D with the nifty pass fake. He is singlehandedly dropping the temperature in here with that cold streak. and he’s got to find other ways to contribute then because his shot making is not happening right now. Now here’s Collins and he overshot that one missing. The 76ers have gone one of four since the end of the third quarter. Back to Walker. Pass to Drummond. Falls right in. He is eight for 11 with that shot. They’ve gone out of their way to involve Drummond in this offense and I think that’s really kept him engaged. Guys, they’re looking for a SP here. Yeah, a cold stretch offensively for sure. Now here’s Collins. Yeah, clearly he had an established position there. Yeah. And and I I like this call because you want the refs in that situation. If there’s any doubt, air on the side of giving the benefit of the doubt to the offensive player. That should have been a block and it was. Here’s Collins to the inside. Fouled on the shot and picks up two points. So, one free throw coming up. Seems to have a knack for hitting guys in their spots. His vision excellent. One shot. for Philadelphia. They’ve gone two for five on field goal attempts in the fourth quarter. A bit under three and 1/2 minutes have passed here in the fourth. Shot clock at six. The Warriors pull it in. Pass to Jay. It’s hauled in by Gordon. I wouldn’t say that’s exactly his spot now. I mean, and you can see why. And so, it looks like the 76ers will retain possession here. Kyle Lowry, he’s checking for Philadelphia. for three, Gordon. And the 76ers get it back. And they get it back again. I mean, how many rebounds offensively have they had? Everything’s going right for them today. First one falls That’s also good. So he hits both free throws and Collins has got the ball here for the Warriors. So far in the fourth quarter, they’ve allowed just six points. Richard defended by Gordon driving inside the pass D. Shot clock at three and they recover it. Shot by Collins. No good. Gordon inside. Here’s Watford. Not going to go that time. And Golden State will come the other way. Here’s Row laid in with a nice touch off the glass. Really textbook use of the dribble. getting inside to get his work done. I’m glad we got a chance to check out that fantastic drive one more time. And they might be down big, but you’d love the mentality he has to go at defenders and just keep attacking. Outside Walker. Jay with the rebound. Jay has got it got six rebounds now in the game. Collins with it and it’s Gordon picking him up and stolen by Gordon. The shot off that time. Warriors have gone three of eight here in the fourth quarter. Here’s Jay. Makes it off the glass. Jay’s got it. Got four points this quarter. Not much resistance from the defense. Easy play that time for him and Walker kicks to Gordon. Some nice ball movement here by the 76ers. Walker finds Gordon and there’s Lowry. That’s good on the assist by Eric Gordon. Can’t let Lowry get comfortable from beyond the arc because he’s more than capable of hurting you from there. Here’s Row and the Warriors tack on two more. Philadelphia’s gone one and two from three-point ranger in the fourth. Outside Gordon outside Walker pass to Gordon. Pocket six. Here’s Lowry. Makes the most of the high percentage shot and just so crafty around the hoop. Lowry probably 6 ft at best, but man, he can slip inside and score with the best of them. To the paint. Here’s Ro and the basket is good. And he’s got a chance here for one more at the line. It looked like that was going to be blocked, but then he pulled the Houdini and flipped it in for the score. One shot. on the free throw. No good. Philadelphia shooting in the fourth quarter down around 31% not playing with as much energy here lately. Knocks it loose. Shots good by Walker. And you know, coaches will take possessions like that all day long. Phenomenal use of the screen there. Passes it to Ro and foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. shooting two. The first one falls. And so he hits both. And so Lowry will bring it up for the 76ers. Kicks to Gordon. Lowry passes to Watford and foul on the shot. So, he’ll get a chance at the line. And Gordon just continues to prove why he’s so valuable. I mean, he knows he’s out there to shoot the ball and he does it very well. Two shots. That free throw missing. And the second free throw good. Warriors have gone six of 11 since the start of the fourth quarter. Down low. Collins. Good. Well, check out that assist. That’s a pair of teammates that are clearly on the same page. Lowry kicks to Gordon. Back to Lowry. Come on, guys. Six to shoot. Pass to Watford. The shot’s good. Watford’s got four points this quarter. Lowry showing you the veteran smarts there. Able to sniff out when the D has overcommitted and taken advantage. The pass to Ro. Some nice passing by Golden Stadium. Here’s Jay. Pass to Collins. Shoots a three and Philadelphia grabs the miss outside. Lowry. Gordon. The pass to Lowry. outside Walker. It’s blocked and he stays with it. And there’s the shot clock violation. Couldn’t get the shot off in time. Lowry against Collins. Passes it to Jay to the middle. Beautiful dish and the layup goes down. And that’s what you want to see. Good fundamental sound basketball with the bounce pass. bounce pass from Lowry. Walker the pass to Watford. He kicks it to Lowry outside. Walker. Five on the clock. Back to Gordon. Launches it. Golden State’s gotten off to an 0 for two start from downtown here in the fourth quarter. Offensive rebound. Here’s Jay and he makes the bucket. Gets the whistle and now a three-point play chance here for him. One shot. And that one misses. The 76ers leading by 23 outside Gordon. 132 left in the game. Ash Delaware. Four on the clock over Collins. And so it’s going to end up in the record books as a blowout. A dominating performance for the 76ers. It was a standout performance across the board. I mean, it was like watching a cat play with a mouse. say they were able to do more or less whatever they wanted. And we watched one guy all night long, guys. And looking at the stats just confirms what a dominant game he had. What a night it was for Andre Drummond. Now, he was a problem on the glass today. Relentlessly crashing the boards and came away with a bushel basket full of rebounds. He’s off on the first. Good on the second free throw. Not nearly as productive a trip to the line as he’d have liked. They need all their free throws to go down at this point. outside Lowry down low and the layup is good and you can sense that these fans, these players, they are ready to celebrate and I think they can start that celebration right now. I mean what a terrific team victory. Now here’s Collins, Richard. And the layup’s good off the glass. And you could appreciate the fight now, but it isn’t how they came into the game. Yeah, you know, I agree with you. They waited too long to finally ramp themselves up. Here’s Lowry. It’s 9 seconds separating the shot clock and game clock. And there’s the pass to Gordon. two points. That one goes and it’s just competing, you know, giving your best when it matters most. Yeah. You know, once they got victory in their view, a huge injection of energy and a great run to finish it off. So, it’s the 76ers winning this one easily. They won this game going away. Hey, they were the better basketball team by far tonight. And you got to commend this sort of dominance, particularly here at home. It’s a great feeling when you play almost a perfect game and to have that crowd be so pumped up. And that’ll wrap it up, folks, for Greg Anthony, Clark, and David Aldridge. This is Kevin Harland saying thanks for watching and we’ll see you next time. This could be a chess match tonight. We have two very smart teams that tend to make great decisions and that’s the value of experience. You know what you’re good at and you limit your mistakes. It’s hard to fool a person who sees it all. The starters for the Golden State Warriors. Maxi passes to George. Now here’s Ubé. Embiid finds Ubé. Just five to shoot. That shot off the mark and Golden State will go the other way with it. Green. The pass to Curry. Embiid against Green. and he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So, he’ll take two free throws. It’s going to go on Paul George. I like when Green looks to score. He’s good at putting defenses in a bind. Yeah, you know, after a couple down years with key players injured, it’s safe to say the Golden State Warriors are back. and he makes a first. The Warriors are back to contending for championships. Yes, they are. A testament to their perseverance and belief in themselves. They knew once they got healthy, they would be a threat. And they’ve been a fun team to watch as they get back to form. And that one goes in two from the line that time. A vocal leader both on and off the floor. Green plays with a real fire in edge. Now here’s George outside. Maxi Warriors with the rebound. That’s the shot you hope for right at the rim. Just couldn’t capitalize. First quarter, just over a minute played and the officials will call the illegal screen here. You’re not going to fool the officials too often on an illegal screen. That’s a very avoidable turnover. You got to focus on the details. Pass to Embiid. Puts up a three. The Sixers with another miss. And the Warriors with possession to the inside. Embiid with a nice defensive effort. Here’s Edwards. The shot misses. Green with the defensive effort. Edwards pulls it in. The 76ers have gone 0 for four, missing their first four attempts. George passes to Embiid. Curry against Maxi. Missed inside. George defending pass to Curry. He shoots and too long on the shot. I I’m trying to think of the last time I saw him miss a shot like that. It’s It’s been a while. Time called here. The Warriors decide to talk it over. When you think of the 76ers, Richard, they’ve had so many Hall of Fame players. Allan Iverson sticks out to me. Growing up, I loved watching AI play. And then when I entered into the league, I was competing against them. If you grew up in the ‘9s or 2000, AI was the guy that just kind of changed everything for you. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. First quarter of basketball. Just over two and a half minutes played so far. Back to Curry up and in on the layup. And you’re asking for trouble when you give Curry this positioning. He’s so efficient down there. Back to Ubé. The put back controls the rebound and the put back. The effort, the position, the timing, all there. And add instincts to that. He can sense where the rebound’s going to go. Pass to Curry from deep. Hits the trifecta. Curry’s got five points. His shooting motion is just so impeccable. Curry’s long ball is one of the prettiest shots in the game. Outside Ubé back to George. Six to shoot. The three is up and the 76ers get it back. Second chance shot. Oh, the nice bucket inside from Embiid. And how about that reach of Embiid using those long arms to just gobble up second chance opportunities. The three is up. Edwards pulls it in. Philadelphia has gone 0 for two from outside. When you think about tough-nosed fan bases that don’t hold back, the Philadelphia 76er fans, well, let’s just say they stand out. They are extremely demanding of their team. Sixers fans have no issues letting their players hear it when they are falling short of expectations. And you could argue it makes it tougher for these players in the long run. They know these fans want to win. And because of it, these players are determined not to let them down. But if you succeed, you worship forever. And the first one at the line is good. So UB nails them both. The Warriors leading. Pass to Curry. Embiid covers. Shot clock at six. And that’s good. Stephen Curry for three. Curry’s got eight points. They will take that option every time. Up the floor. Curry from the corner. Now here’s George tightly guarded. The Sixers again can’t hit. Golden State is gone two for three from outside the arc. Will not go. Misses off the front iron. Ubé on the wing. He’s covered by Curry. Unloads and it’s Maxi missing. The Warriors have gone three of eight so far. He shoots it. The shot no good. So, Philadelphia will take it the other way. George finds UB. Maxi against Curry. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. That 2020 draft was so deep. Tyrese Maxi going 21. Maxi is already a premier scorer. A steal that late in the first round. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. That free throw no good. Tyrese Maxi part of that loaded 2020 rookie class. Richard at the top of the first Anthony Edwards. He is an absolute star. So is LaMelo. Last pick of the first round. Desmond Bane can absolutely play. Like Maxi though, Isaiah Stewart, Sadique Bay are great picks in that 20 area. And he’s good on the second. And here’s Curry. Give him eight. And again, no good by Golden State. He hasn’t been able to find his touch this quarter. Yeah, straight up, guys. Like, he’s ice cold. Like freezing. What’s colder than cold? But you don’t have to shoot it, my guy. It’s okay to pass the ball. They get it back. Tries again. Edwards can’t hit. Golden State has gone two for four from range to start things off. George defending. pulls up high post. Rebound by the 76ers. Embiid’s got rebound number five here tonight. The Sixers again can’t hit. Now the Warriors with it. It’s a three-point game. Green. The pass to Curry. Pass to Green. Golden State needs to get off a shot. The rebound by Embiid. Philadelphia has gone 0 for three from downtown. They’re searching for a way to score. Yeah, buckets have been very tough to come by. Here’s Ubé. Oh, nice D from Curry. The Warriors shooting just 25% from the field in the first quarter. From downtown and the foul called on Draymond Green. That’s foul number two for him. outside. Walker. He’s covered by Curry. That one’s good for two. Just owning the painted area. If it’s working, no need to change. Fantastic replay we just saw of the mobile one drive. Yeah, he made that drive look easy, but that had a high degree of difficulty. George defending fade away. And that one’s good, Jay. And the Warriors lead by three. Those are some hustle points. It’s really bonus points when you put in a miss. And Philadelphia calls time here. Yeah. Hoping to tap into something that’ll get them clicking. Yeah, they need to regroup and maybe try and draw something up that can get them a clean look at the basket. Heat. Heat. Heels checked in for Draymond Green. The Sixers trailing. He’s covered by Curry. Here’s George. Sinks that one from the post. I know what they say, defense wins championships, but you need some bucket getters, too. Now outside heel pass to Jay back to Curry. The three ball. They get the rebound. Here’s Jay. Oh, and makes it with the kiss. And the Warriors lead by three. He’s got a knack for those putbacks. So you have to be aware of that defensively. get a body on him. Here’s George. No good. Off the back of the rim. That’s a shot he’d like back. He’s usually going to make those. Takes a three. That’s good from Curry on the assist by Heel. And now a six-point Warrior lead. He has the fastest shot in the game of basketball. Curry’s release is so quick that the D can’t afford to lay off him at all. The rebound by Jay. Golden State has gone three of seven from beyond the arc in the first. Great start so far. Three of three in this one. No settling for an outside shot there. They went right to the hoop. Offensively, it’s been a struggle for them. Yeah, they need to string together some shots to have any kind of chance. George. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. That one on healed. The physicality of George. His coaches and teammates encourage him to attack and draw contact. All right, guys. What do you think about the the offensive approach we’ve seen so far for the Warriors? Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. No good on the free throw and just one of the most complete players in the game today. George’s two-way game and strong leadership traits are reasons why he’s a star. Good on the second one. The Warriors leading. Curry passes to Heield. Here’s Jay Drummond defending and he got the whistle on the way up. So he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. The officials were right on top of that one. Heat. Heat. No good on that one. He does not get the second one. Philadelphia has gone 0 for three from downtown. up top. Walker and it’s blocked. Pass to Jay and count that. Two points and a chance for one more at the line. And adding to this lead right now, riding a wave of momentum. Yeah, they’ve locked in during this stretch. If they keep it up, their lead will only continue to grow. Heat. Heat. And no one misses now. Philadelphia with it. They trail by nine. We’ve got 123 left in the first quarter. Nice shot by George. George has got five now. A wing not afraid to mix it up inside. PG-13 finishing down low. Back to Curry. And there’s the call. It’s going to be an illegal screen. You can get away with one once in a while, but it looked like he wasn’t completely set on that pick. You got to blow the whistle when it’s that obvious. Great call there by the official. We got to see that one again. That block was all out effort. Yeah. Good offense comes from great defense. This lead is only getting stronger with plays like that. He’s covered by Curry. Second chance effort. Misses the layup. Golden State has gone three of seven from beyond the arc in the first. Here’s Heield and it’s Philadelphia with the rebound. He’s covered by Curry. Walker for three. And he can’t get that one. So Golden State will take it the other way. The 15-footer. Here’s Jay. And the layup is good. He’s got 10. That’ll drive your coach crazy. failing to box out. Oh yeah, you think you got to stop and it’s wasted because of sloppy work in the glass. You literally practice that every day. That one’s off. Guys like Buddy Hill, knockdown shooters, they are in high demand around the league. He hits the second from the line. Five ticks left to play in the first from deep three-point range. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors earning this break in the action. Up 10. They’ve had incredible success defensively taking away good looks and pressuring shooters. Back after this. And so far through one quarter, it’s been a lopsided game. We’ll see if that changes here in the second. And what do you guys think about the Warriors here in this one? Give it up for their D. They’re battling, communicating, and coming up with key stops. It’s been a group effort, and that’s what it takes to play the kind of defense that they’ve played. Great showing from them. You know, with all the dunkers out there, some players make sure they don’t end up on too many posters. Grant, you ever uh make a business decision? Yeah, but yeah, you know, I made a few business decisions through my career. Look, as a competitor, you want to make sure that you can play defense, give it your all, contest at the rim when you feel that you can. But when someone like a Vince Carter in the midst of insanity, that’s when you make a business decision and that’s a smart decision. And so in the game for the Warriors, Moody is out there with Stephen Curry. Then there’s Draymond Green and it’s Jay in at the five. Back to Curry. to the paint. That one goes. Now he’s one for two. An absolute superb facilitator because Curry is such a lights out shooter. It opens up passing lanes for him. Outside Maxi. Quarter number two with just over a minute to play. The wide open shot is on the money. The Warriors leading Curry against Maxi. Green up top. Pass to Jay. Just five on the clock. Here’s Moody. And that one’s long. Hard to turn down a look that good. Still, long twos are losing favor and misses like that are the reason why. Fantastic defense giving full effort and a miss there on the triple for Philadelphia. They’ve got two of three shots to go in the second. Oh, it’s blocked by Green. When you talk about the best defensive players of this era, you have to talk about Draymond Green. Pass to Moody. Shoots over Embiid outside. Curry lets it go from deep. They grab their own miss. Here’s Jay. And another shot. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. The Sixers trailing, trying to find a spark here. Yes, indeed. A rough stretch offensively. They could really use a basket. Pass to Green down low. The 11-footer. That one’s off. He’s four for nine. Well, some trips you get the shot you want. It just doesn’t fall. I’d go back to him in that area on the floor. Yeah, he was able to sneak it to the rim. Had enough room to get just like an easy layup. And that replay showed how sensational that drive truly was. Yeah, they’re trying to close this gap. Always a good option to probe the paint and see if you can get an easy one inside. Now here’s Curry over Maxi. Curry no good. What more is there to say about how much Embiid means to his team in this city? After being hurt his first two years, he’s been worth the wait. Here’s Embiid inside 13 ft out and he’s going to the line for two. The officials saw contact while he was going up. It’s on Stephen Curry. And with Embiid, when he puts his foot on the gas, there’s no stopping him. a top scorer in the league since his inception. Not many centers who can stop this man. Uses so much power. Almost unguardable. Shooting two. And that one misses. And the 76ers making a change here. George has checked in. And the Warriors making a switch here. and he sinks the second. And here in the second quarter of action as we approach four minutes played and he takes the feed in stride and slams it home. Nice one-handed jam there, Ba. Hey, little exclamation point. Now here’s George. Five points in the game. It’s deflected. MP good time called here. The Warriors decide to talk it over. Yeah, coach no doubt wants to use this timeout to review the matchups and maybe make some adjustments as well. I’m sure all of the above is in order and you can never be too content. Heat. Heat. There you go. Golden State has gone 0 for four from beyond the arc here in the second quarter. Pass to Green. Here’s Moody. and play stops. A whistle there on what looks like an illegal screen. The screener was leaning a bit right there. His feet may not have been planted. Pretty obvious call by the officials. Look, guys get away with this all the time, but on this occasion, he got caught. And it’s Jimmy Butler with the foul. That’s foul number two for him. That was a good call. The defense wasn’t established. So, it’s Philadelphia now. Their defense is only allowed four points in the quarter. George outside. And now just a three-point Warrior lead. George can make the tough passes. He can also make the easy ones, too. No way he was going to miss the wideopen man on that one. Shot on the wing. The rebound by Embiid. Embiid’s got rebound number 10 tonight with that last one. George for three. Sends it home from three-point land. George has got eight. Confident shot by George off the hot pass. Doesn’t waste time thinking about his selection. Maxi covering. Ooh, nothing falling for them right now for Philadelphia. They’ve gotten six of 10 shots to drop in the second. Nice work to the inside. Can’t get the go-ahehead bucket. And the Warriors shooting an unimpressive 30% in this game so far. Here’s Green and it’s hammered home by Green. With how much Draymond moves on the offensive end, Green gets a lot of dunk opportunities. Here’s Maxi and he makes the eight-footer. Maxi’s got his second basket of the game. Got to fight harder to get over those screens. Yeah, as soon as these guys feel contact, they are just disappearing like they’re not even there. You got to show some fire and keep defending. And that’s a defensive lapse. A shooter of his caliber can’t be left wide open. Outside Maxi now here’s Embiid. He’s guarded closely. Basket’s good. Seven points in the game. A great look provided by Embiid. The big man just dropping dimes. George defending down low. Here’s Moody. And one move ahead of the defense. A solid pick and then the monster dunk to complete the play. Well done. Oh, great chemistry on display. He understood where to put the screen in order to free up his teammate. And Philadelphia calls time here. Yeah, hoping to tap into something that’ll get them clicking. Yeah, they need to regroup and maybe try and draw something up that can get them a clean look at the basket. Heat. Heat. Drummonds checked in for Joel Embiid. The Warriors also with a sub. Heels checked in for Philadelphia. They’ve gotten eight of 13 shots to fall in the second quarter. Pass to Edwards and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Green’s got rebound number eight here already in the game. Left side healed. Maxi covering. No one near him. Five to shoot again. Golden State putting the buckets in Jimmy Buckets offensively at his best off the catch and shoot. George with it. Give him eight points now. And the officials call goalending. So they’ll award the basket. Well, at least the D was going for it, but he got to the ball just a moment late. Golden State has gone just one of five so far this quarter from three. Pass to Green and it’s off the back of the rim. No good. The Sixers trailing. Launches it and the 76ers another three. That’s why you keep your head up. If the assist is there, you can pounce. Heal up top. Tried to come right back with a three of his own, but it’s no good. Got a hand on it. Driving to the basket. Edwards against Green. Outside heel. No good on the three. It’s tough to get open in this league. And when you do, it hurts not to capitalize. And it’s Maxi missing. And for the Warriors, they’re shooting around 29% in quarter number two. inside. Here’s Green and watching Draymond Green play. Grant, he’s the quarterback on both ends. I love that, BA. Defensively, constantly calling out instructions on how to switch, keeping everyone organized, and offensively, Green is an incredible passer. Sees guys get open before they do. Heat. Heat. Free throw good. Green Walker. He’s checked in for Philadelphia. And both free throws good for Green. Here’s Maxi. He has seven. Time out. Time out. Philadelphia calls. Timeout can do it, guys. Yeah, boys. Heat. Heat. I don’t know. George passes to Drummond. Pass to Maxi. Clock at six. Oh, no good. Had a chance to take the lead. And here’s Healed. Green for three. Philadelphia grabs the miss. Now Maxi. Rebounded by Green. Green’s got nine rebounds in the game. Boy, he’s getting it done. Pass the Heel. 144 left in the first half. Walker pulls down the board. It’s clear he’s totally out of sync. The team needs to rethink its strategy around what to do with him. Now here’s George and the Warriors pushing it up now. Lots of room. Walker pulls down the board. Philadelphia has gone two of three from beyond the arc so far in the second. It’s George on the wing. Here’s Walker and it’s good. Fought through contact. Hit the shot and will go to the line. Find the length. Find the length. Good shot. And that one drops. So now they lead by one. 105 left in the second period. Outside Curry. Pass to Jay up again. Great positioning on the foot back. Green’s got eight. Relentless. You will never outwork Draymond. 51 seconds left in the second quarter. George outside. An absolute bomb from three-point range. Nine points in the game. His three-point shot looks so pure. The defense allowing him to get comfortable out there to the paint. Welltimed pass and he goes straight to the bucket for the layup. Look at He’s unselfish approach. He’s working to find everyone to look, not just himself. Backy passes to Drummond. And he lays it up and in. And once more this half they find a way to get great position inside. Now Curry. One second left and he takes it up and lays it in. What focus from Curry on offense so far. Doing everything he can to provide a lift for his squad. It’s all tied in Philadelphia and we’ll be back for the second half following the break. Keep it right here on 2K Sports. It’s the 2K Sports Halftime Show. Hey, welcome back to 2K Sports. Ernie Johnson alongside Shaquille O’Neal and the Jet Kenny Smith. Let’s get to it. It was a rough ride in the first quarter for Philadelphia. Abysmal shooting from the field. Miss after miss and unable to get into any kind of rhythm. They simply could not put together an efficient offensive run. They came out in the second quarter with a lot more energy and with some nice offensive stretches and were able to even things up before the half. Let’s start with you, Shaq. What’ you think about the Sixers? Got to give some credit to the energy of their bench. The second unit guys are trying to make a name for themselves tonight and you know they’re fire under the starters baby. And over to Kenny now. How do you think the Warriors were playing? The role can be unfriendly and they’ve clearly risen to the challenge. They’re shrugging off the chance from the fans defense. All of that. No, no, no, no. They’re playing their focus and they’re getting to work. They’re playing with a lot of confidence. That’s all for now. Say goodbye to the folks. Thanks for joining us. Third quarter just about ready to begin. And we’ve got second half action for you. Thus far, a pretty evenly contested game. Stephen Curry having a dominant impact in this game. Well, if he’s hit threes like he did in the first half, he’s going to have a monster night. And let’s see if the D adjusts make life a little more difficult on him. And after a fairly even first couple of quarters, this second half could turn out to be a great one as both teams trying to gain an edge. They’ve got Joel Embiid Edwards out there with Paul George. Then it’s Maxi and it’s Ubé in at the two guard position. That’s the group for Nick Nurse getting going here in the second half. Playing with passion, Butler is never scared of a challenge. A wing who battles inside. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. That free throw misses. The gritty, hardworking mentality of Butler is contagious. He just elevates his teammates to work on becoming better, too. Good on the second one. It wasn’t perfect, but it was enough to give them the lead. The Sixers trailing. Here’s Maxi. No good with a layup. The Warriors shooting around 35% from the field so far. The rebound by Embiid. Great opportunity. Just couldn’t complete the play. And you have to feel for him. That’s the kind of miss that will stick with you for a little bit. And they’re on the break. And there’s contact and a whistle. So he’s got two shots coming up. shooting two. And he drops a first. So, he gets them both. Some big guys struggle at the line. Not him. He’s put in the work to defy that assumption. Pass to Ubé. Here’s Embiid. Now Ubé. Six on the shot clock. Shoots. Another shot. Edwards. And he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. Man, he made sure to get his money’s worth on that foul. 2 free throw good. Edwards. And he makes both free throws. And if you’re just joining us, we played just over a minute here in the third. Back to Curry. Embiid covers. Excellent D there from Embiid. There’s the drive and the rebound goes to the Warriors. They’ve led by as much as 10. Out to the right wing. Maxi covering. Back to Curry. Lays it up and banks it in. Curry’s got 15. Keeping pace here. That’s an excellent move inside. And we just had to see that mobile one drive one more time. Great stuff. And you know, a close game, you got to find that edge. High energy plays like that one can make a big difference. Pass to UB puts it up from 12 and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Green’s got a rebound number 12 here already in the game. Just under two and 1/2 minutes into this third quarter now outside Curry. guarded by Edwards. It’s tipped and they forced the shot clock violation. Great D. And this is the absolute wrong time to stop communicating. They have to get in sync. And that’s how you defend. Glad we had a chance to see a replay of that block again. Oh, terrific defensive intensity right there. Getting stops like that is crucial for them right now. Here’s Maxi. Seven points in the game. They need something good to happen here. Yeah, they’ve gone way too long without a score. Uses the glass to finish the layup. Nine points in the game. Use the pick to perfection and got all the way to the rim. And now we’re three minutes into this third quarter of play. Clock at six. Pass to Curry. Green with the ball over Edwards. Philadelphia grabs the miss. Embiid’s got 14. Yep. 14 rebounds for him tonight. It’s rebounded by Jimmy Butler. The Warriors have gotten just one of five shots to drop since halftime. Look at Curry getting crafty, ensuring he gets fouled while in the act of shooting. Take a break. Take a break. and he knocks down the first one. A multipletime champion and relentless competitor. Curry’s drive to be an all-time great, well, he’s pretty much there. gets one then misses the second attempt from the line outside. Maxi pass to UB this for the tie and a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. It’s going to go on Draymond Green. Well, that was clearly a foul. Two sides. That free throw no good. Moody’s checked in for the Warriors. He hits the second from the line. The Warriors leading pass to Curry and the Warriors miss again. The 76ers shooting just 34% so far in this one. UB can’t hit. The Warriors have gone only one for six here in the second half. Outside Curry. Guarded by Edwards. Pass to Moody. Six to shoot. lets it fly. No luck on that one. And Philadelphia the other way now. I think the defense will live with him taking mid-range jumpers, but maybe just a little bit more resistance. Offensive board, Embiid. And that one’s good. A nice job on the glass as they picked up two on the second effort. A gifted interior scorer. When Embiid establishes himself down there, he is almost automatic. Time called here. The Warriors decide to talk it over. Failing to find a rhythm offensively, something that needs to change and change soon. And coach called his time out to try and reset things on offense, shake them up a bit so they can hopefully start getting some shots to fall. Heat up here. Heat. Heat. left side. Curry to the middle looking to get back on track. Edwards pulls it in. The Sixers leading pass to Maxi. Ubé finds Embiid. Got it. Good job in the low post. Embiid’s got four points in the quarter. The value of good ball movement isn’t lost on this squad. Moody from outside and Joel Embiid pulls it down. And I’m surprised that didn’t go down. I mean, I’m sure he is too. Golden State has gone 0 for two from outside here in the third. And so he draws the foul headed to the line to shoot a pair. Man, the defender really went after him. And a look at how the offenseive approach has been going so far for the 76ers. shooting two. That one’s off. And the 76ers making a change here. George has checked in. And the second free throw is good. Close game here in Philadelphia. Outside Maxi shoots over Curry. Curry with the block making his present fell on defense. Curry with the rejection. Pass to Moody. Now Curry. Four on the clock. Fires for three. Moody misses. And for Philadelphia, they’re shooting 34% thus far in this game. Count it. Embiid’s got six in the quarter. And that’s how you lead a team, literally. Pass to Moody. Back to Curry. Here’s Moody. He’s got five. from deep and the shot clock expires. 24 second violation and the Warriors making a switch here. This is why you want ball movement and player movement. And that’s made it hard for the defense to key in on any one individual. The Warriors trailing. They’re searching for a way to score. Yeah, buckets have been very tough to come by. Shooting two. No good on that one. Andre Drummond has checked in for Maxi. Heels checked in for the Warriors. and he’s good on the second. The 76ers shooting a less than average 27% in the third quarter. Pass to Drummond. George outside Edwards. Shot clock at five. Fires from deep. The Warriors pull it in. Curry’s got his fourth rebound in this one. To the paint and he makes no mistake. Slam dunk. Just great awareness from Curry. So good at reading the floor and finding his open teammates. Pass to Embiid. Pulls up. Nice shot by George. George has got 10 points in the game. Golden State has got nothing to fall here in the third. 0 for four. Back to Curry. Outside heel. This for the tie that drops and it comes off an assist from Curry. Curry’s got three assists in the game. You got to expect this from a high volume shooter with range like heel. He loves to let threes fly from everywhere. Inside. Here’s George. The Warriors pull it in. Pass to Jay. And here’s Heield. And the Warriors with another three. And down in the corner, he looks so comfortable. I mean, that’s a shot he knows he can make. Here’s Drummond. Down low. Here’s George. That’s good. And now he’s five for 11 in this one. The focus, the balance. George doesn’t back down from converting these challenging buckets. Pass to heel. fires it and they recover it. No good. A bit long that time. It seems like every miss ends up in his hands. He’s been unreal. You aren’t exact. Exaggerating. You don’t get to 20 rebounds without having a special talent for grabbing misses. Off target from outside. Golden State has gone two of six from downtown here in the second half. That shot missing. Some solid defense from Drummond. Pass to Edwards. A minute 42 left to play in the third quarter. The 11-footer. So it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. No debate there. He He got hammered. All right, guys. What’s your take on the hustle stats for the Warriors? Two shots. That free throw no good. Walker, he’s checked in for the Sixers. The Warriors also with a sub. Draymond Green, he’s checked in for Moody. So, he can’t get either to fall. The Warriors leading outside. Curry pass to Heel. Here’s Jay. Here’s the three. Drummond grabs the miss. Drummond’s got his seventh rebound here tonight. George right side. He’s covered by Curry. Back to George. Oh, and he got fouled on his way. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. And so he’s picked up his final foul and he’ll sit the rest of this one out. He has such a skilled score. When Georgia is looking to attack, it puts pressure on the D. That one drops. He ties it up. And now they lead as the free throw drops in for him. The Warriors shooting just around 32% from the field. Pass to Jay outside heel. Another miss. Boy, they’re in a funk right now. Outside Walker. George with it. This one for three. Rebounded by Heield. He’s got his fourth rebound in this one to the inside. And he floats it in for the easy two. Credit to sweet setup on that one. He’s got five. Incredible game. This lead has been exchanged eight times. Tremendous show of will and resilience on both sides. High value assist there. Finding him inside for the finish. Outside Curry outside heel over George. It’s still anybody’s game as we reach the end of three. The Sixers on top leading by a point. And fourth quarter basket ball will be coming your way on 2K Sports right after this. And now we have a moment to reveal our State Farm assist of the game. You know, I’m kind of stoked that this was the choice because I love this pass. A remarkable find. He put his court vision on full display. That wasn’t a better pass in the game. Almost like he had a six sense. Well, what a terrific game it’s been been so far with this fourth quarter sure to bring more pressure packed basketball on the court for Golden State to start the fourth outside. Maxi shoots over Curry. Here’s Drummond. Pass to Maxi. Second chance shot and the 76ers get it back. They shoot again and Drummond with the layin and the 76ers lead by three. This is the exact energy you like to see from Drummond. He can be a monster on the offensive glass. To the middle. Here’s Curry. Uneasy two on the layup. And this is just typical of him always making an impact at crucial moments in the game. and his team needs every bit of his production if they want to pull this one out. It is neck and neck here in the final period. We’re just over a minute into this final quarter play. Inside good and he’s at eight of 14 now. A solid offensive performance. a tremendous facilitator out of the wing. Butler finding the uncovered man. And we just had to take one more look at that great drive. Now here’s Maxi Walker for three. No luck on that one. And Golden State will come the other way on the wing. Curry for three. Curry with another miss. Philadelphia has gone 0 for two from outside here in the fourth quarter. Outside UB jacks up a three. The Warriors pull it in. Nice assist and nice finish. Solid play all the way around and now a three-point Warrior lead. George outside Maxi. Shot clock at six. Sweet little floater. The floater is so tough to defend against. Nothing defenders can really do but shake their heads. Pass to Jay. gets it. He’s six for 10 and looking confident out there. If you’re just joining us, fourth quarter here. We’re just over 2 and 1/2 minutes into it. Things just don’t seem to be clicking for them offensively. Yeah, they really need to find a way to get back on track. They get it back. Here’s Drummonds. Count it. Drummond’s got four points in the quarter. At this stage of the game, the offensive rebounding and put back is massive. It feels like a four-point swing. No question. It’s a big impact play. Credit to him for working hard to find that opportunity. The 76ers have gotten just three of nine shots to go in. Struggling this fourth quarter. Back to George. Pass to Maxi. using his post moves to get the two points and the 76ers lead by one. This is the very definition of a back and forth contest. Yes, neither side taking its foot off the gas. I’m expecting a spectacular finish. Pass to Jay. Curry against Maxi. Shot is good by Curry. Nice job staying aware of the shot clock situation. Curry is so cool under pressure. Time called here. The 76ers decide to talk it over. Man, it’s been quite a game for Stephen Curry. And I think a new plan would be a good idea. At least make it hard on this guy. Heat. Heat. Heat. Hey. Hey. And some changes here for the 76ers. Joel Embiid, he’s checked in for Drummond. And it’s Edwards in for Walker. All right, let’s get a report from Ally. I was able to listen in on what Nick Nurse had to say to the team. He told them to be more careful about their selections, saying, quote, “Don’t force it at the ark. If it’s not a good look, don’t risk it. Move the ball. Attack inside. Use your options.” And Ally, thanks. And he gets it to go. And it’s a three-point Warrior lead. I wouldn’t say Butler seeks contact, but he sure doesn’t turn it down. Maxi passes to George. Back to Maxi. George outside. Shots blocked. Embiid covers. Pass to Curry. The three. The rebound by Maxi. and he might have thrown himself off when he saw how much space he had from three. George outside now Edwards. Here’s Embiid. Oh, he got him with a pump fake, but he couldn’t finish. The Warriors have gone six for nine here in the fourth quarter. Great open look there and the Warriors lead by six. George outside Maxi. Now here’s Ubé to the paint. Here’s Embiid. Ooh, he can’t stop the run as that misses. He hits the back iron and sinks it. Nice ball movement there. That’s how you break down the defense. Offensively, it’s been a struggle for them. Yeah, they need to string together some shots to have any kind of chance. Pass to George. Lets it go from deep. Warriors with the rebound. Nothing is going his way in this half offensively. Really having a hard time finding his shot. The three from Curry. That shot no good. So Philadelphia will take it the other way outside. UB down low. The shot that time not on target. Golden State has gone one for five shooting from the arc here in the fourth. Here’s Jay. Second shot opportunity. Well, it was only a matter of time before they finally get the bucket. Hustle, you always get it from Butler picking up some second chance points. Now, here’s George. Pass to Embiid. Tries to snap the cold streak. Yeah, they just can’t seem to end the drought no matter where they shoot it from. This is snowballing for them. They’ve got to get a good look next time down. He’s fallen into a bit of a slump this quarter. How quickly things can turn outside. Ubé now. Here’s Embiid. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. Yeah, it’s such a simple yet effective move. Embiid executing the pump fake. Two shots. The free throw drops for Embiid. It’s tough to find things to not love about Embiid’s game. It’s so complete. He’s a true two-way player who is a nightmare you have to deal with on both ends. and Embiid drops them both. The Warriors leading outside. Curry. Oh, and he took a hard foul on the shot. So, he’ll head to the line to shoot a pair. Shooting two. First free throw is good. Good on both. Philadelphia’s got nothing to fall from outside the arc here in the fourth. 0 for four. Pass to Ubé Embiid with it. Fires from the corner and it’s cleared by Stephen Curry. Curry’s got seven rebounds in the game. Down to five on the shot clock. Off target with the free throw line. Jay, you got to move past that one. I mean, they’d want him to take that again. Yeah, it’s a great look for him. One they’ll try and manufacture again. Those are the shots you want him to take. Embiid’s shot is good. Well, and it’s just clear how comfortable Embiid is shooting the ball, especially from mid-range. Curry from deep three-point land. And Joel Embiid pulls it down. The Sixers trailing to the paint. Edwards can’t hit. Releases. Curry gets the bucket. Curry’s got eight here in this quarter. A and just not letting up at all. I mean, you have to love this approach. You want to get the ball to the guys who make plays. This is when good players really get after it. He can sense that they’re reeling and he’s going to put his foot on the pedal. And Philadelphia calls time here. Yeah. Hoping to tap into something that’ll get them clicking. Yeah, they need to regroup and maybe try and draw something up that can get them a clean look at the basket. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. And now a moment to present the New Balance Player of the Game, Stephen Curry. Can you say vintage? Wow. This was a vintage performance. I mean, so much of the game is about the three ball today, but his focus was going hard into the paint and doing damage from inside. I’m telling you, the added pressure of the road really brings out the best in him. You can tell he enjoyed playing so well in front of an unfriendly crowd. Philadelphia has got nothing to fall from outside the ark here in the fourth. 0 for four George left side and another miss by Philadelphia. Oh man, he can’t get anything to fall. You can feel his frustration. Yeah, right now he’s just in his own head. Not much you can do to try and push through it. Now here’s George. Tries it from the block and he connects with a jumper. And that one was on a platter. He won’t miss those very often. And here’s Curry. puts up a three. Rebound by the 76ers. Another missed three and he seems determined to shoot his way out of it. And the shooter had very little space on that attempt. I’m sure they’ll think twice about shooting against him next time. While he’s a bit undersized for a four, he more than makes up for it with his bounce. Here’s George following the score by Golden State. Pass to UB. And here’s Embiid. The fader. And that one’s good. Yeah, Embiid is getting everything he wants on the offensive side. He’s playing some aggressive basketball right now. Outside Curry, guarded by Edwards. Sinks the tray. Well, with a comeback out of range, we can put a bow on this one. Good performance for the Warriors. This team did a lot of things well tonight. Number one was passing the ball. And it was a team that was in rhythm and they just trusted each other to take the right shots. And they got a lot of great solo efforts tonight, but probably none bigger than the performance for Stephen Curry. We certainly got to see his best effort on offense, attacking the defense without fear and grabbing a lot of buckets. This is what winning is all about. Playing your best when it matters most. And let me tell you, as a team, you love to hit your stride right at the crucial moments. They put this game away in style. Six seconds separating the shot and game clocks. Guarded by Edwards out to the wing. Shot is up. No good. Off the back of the rim. Maxi with it. driving inside. And so it’s the Warriors taking care of business in this one. A statement road victory. So impressive. Statement indeed, BA. It was in enemy territory, but they controlled the game and took the crowd completely out of it. That’s how you win on the road. Well, now we have some time to check in with Alli Leforce. Ally, Jimmy, let’s talk about defense. What clicked for you down the stretch? We was locked in on our schemes. Uh I think we did a great job of our rotation and our second effort, but uh all in all, man, we executed on both ends in the fourth quarter. It takes everybody. Thanks, Jimmy. All right, Ally, thank you. Well, folks, that’s going to do it for now. For the entire 2K Sports crew, this is Brian Anderson saying thanks for watching. So long, everybody.
