What is going on guys? Brad here for pits.com and I got a pick in this athletics first Cardinals game going down on Monday, September 1st, 2025. You will find all my plays there. But let’s get right into it, guys. We got the Athletics headed into St. Louis to play the Cardinals. The Athletics are currently finishing up a series against the Rangers while I’m recording this. And then the Cardinals are finishing up a series against the Reds as well on Sunday. So, we’ll see how those games go. But, man, you know, this is an athletic scene that was hot as hell. We saw them, you know, sweep the Tigers. They looked really good in that series against the Twins as well. Um, but then they had Texas come into uh Sacramento this past weekend and we saw the Athletics lose both game one and game two of that series. Like I said, we’ll see what happens in in game three, but, you know, maybe this athletic team is coming back down to earth a little bit after that hot streak. Whereas the Cardinals, a team that was, you know, struggling there um kind of over the last month or so, won game one against their series against the Reds, won game two against their series of the Reds. They lost game three, and we’ll see how game four goes. Um so, I mean, if you go just based off this weekend, these teams could be headed in different directions. We’ll see though. We’ll see. I don’t want to overreact from the results from this weekend for either of these squads. Um, but man, for this one, you got Luis Morales on the mount for the Athletics and Sunonny Gray on the mount for the Cardinals. Luis Mu Morales has been pretty damn solid this season. I mean, he has a 119 ERA. Don’t get me wrong, there hasn’t been much of there hasn’t been a large sample size, but he’s pretty damn good. And a lot of his starts have been in that ballpark in Sacramento, which is extremely hitter friendly. I’m not mad at L. Morales, man. He’s also the the athletics have won um four of his last five starts that he’s he’s played in. So, look man, um I I think Luis Morales is a great option for the Athletics. Um and then Sunny Gray, it’s been a little bit up and down this year for Sunny Gray, but he seems to be in good form right now. Yes, he had a pretty bad start against the Yankees on August 16th, going up six earn, but if you look at his last five starts, you know, they’re they they’ve been pretty damn solid besides that one. Um, so this is a game, man. I like both these teams, honestly, right now. You know, I I still like this a seam. Um, even though they struggled in in Texas, I still think there’s a lot of value with the A’s at the price that we could get them at. And then, like I said, I think the Cardinals, you know, getting some momentum against this series against the Reds. I think they might be able to carry that one into this series. But the way I’m looking at this, guys, while I’m recording this, if you want to take the Cardinals, you’re going to have to lay minus 160. And that just seems a little bit too juicy for the Cardinals, man. Um, I would have set this line probably maybe Cardinals minus 125 because or minus 135 because yes, they have been a great home team, but when you look at these teams over the last month, last two months, I mean, there’s not much separating them. There’s really not. And the fact that the Athletics have a guy like Luis Morales who has been so damn solid this season on the mound. I think the A’s are definitely live in this game. And for those reasons, I’m going to tax some plus money. So, I’m going to take the A’s in this game, guys. I just can’t fathom laying this much juice with the Cardinals. I just can’t do it.
