Jarren Duran’s INSANE Inside the Park Home Run vs. Pirates

And that’s a shot toward the alley. Carlos in to score. It gets by the outfielders. Here comes Bregman rounding third. It goes all the way to the triangle. Another run in. Here comes Durant. He’s trying to score. He’s going to score all the way around. [Applause] That’ll wake this place up. Exactly what the Red Sox needed today. Talk about electricity. Red Sox lead it four to one. They’re calling that a home run. Wow. Just splits the outfield. And you know if it gets both back all of them in the outfield right there, no one’s getting it. It’s 420 back there in the corner. Nobody’s getting to it. Maybe they would rule an error on that, a triple and error. But he never stopped. He never touched it in center either. It’s not like he tried to pick it up and dropped it. It just kicked off the wall between his legs. There was no hesitation from Jiren Duran all the way around. Stand up inside the park homer.

Jarren Duran turned on the jets for a 3-run inside the park home run against the Pirates.

  1. It's amazing – this dude does just enough to keep a chunk of the fanbase happy, and absolutely nothing more. He's like a bad roommate, who occasionally takes out the trash when it isnt his turn, and it makes people forget all the times he didnt do it when it was his.

  2. Way to go JARREN DURAN ❤I Love you ❤️💖 so much. I am in a rehabilitation center nursing home facility. I really wish ❤😢you could come over to visit me and my roommate. We are both big fans of yours❤🎉

  3. “They’re calling that a home run.” Correct call. I was a scorekeeper for many years. Not in any important level. But I know the rules. I’m also friends with one of the Sox’ official scorekeepers. Not bragging. Lol. Just pointing out that I know how to score things. And just like you don’t assume a double play, you also don’t assume an error. For example, if an outfielder misses a fly ball and doesn’t touch it at all, even if he should’ve absolutely caught it, it’s a hit, not an error. I saw no error on this play. The closest you got is the bad throw to home. BUT, it didn’t sail over the catcher’s head and more importantly, it’s not clear they would’ve gotten Duran on a clean throw. He might’ve been safe anyway. So, again, you cannot assume the error. Since Duran may have beaten a clean throw, there’s no error. The fielder could’ve thrown it into the stands. Doesn’t matter. Since Duran may have beaten it anyway, you cannot rule an error.

There was no error on this play. I’m not saying the outfielders played it well. Seemed like they were lolligagging a bit. But lack of effort isn’t an error. The scorekeeper (not sure if my friend was doing it tonight) ruled it correctly. This is absolutely a clean home run. Beautiful. Congrats Jarren.
