Orioles vs. Padres Game Highlights (9/1/25) | MLB Highlights

Some breaking news here from San Diego as Fernando Tatis Jr. who was going to be leading off is now out yesterday. Fernando holding the back of his leg in a play late in the ball game and he left after the seventh inning. Rhino Herd and Raone Lauraniano, two guys that were added to the Padres’s team at the trade deadline and really have been great contributions to this club. Dylan Cece gets his 28th start of the year. Well, Don, you mentioned the success at home. Most uh certainly at home. Home is where the heart is. 386 RA overall 4.82. They swing and a miss goes after the fast ball at 96 and strikes out. First K of the day for Dylan C. two down three and two and Henderson in the air to left field not deep. Sheets in over towards the line on the move and the Baltimore native reaches up to make the catch and ends a one two three. Top of the first for Dylan C. Kyle Bradish now 28-year-old Kyle Bradish making his second start of 2025. Line to left and there’s a base hit for Rise. Good start in this bottom of the first inning. Rise is going 3-2 cut on and miss. Great throw right down by Jackson to Jackson Holiday. A strike him out throw him out double play. Two down for the former Orio Ryan O’Harn. And it’s hooked into right field of base hit for O’Harn. Two out knock. Lauraniano, a team ranked since August the 1st when came the Padres’s. Well, he’s led them in hits, home runs, RBI’s and extra base hits. And Lauraniano shoots it high up into the high sky. Coming on is Jeremiah Jackson. He’s going to make the two-handed catch, ending the inning. So, strike him out, throw him out, help Bradish out as we go into the second inning with Emanuel Rivera leading it off. Lines this one to third and Manny reaches for the foul line to make the catch. One out in the top of the second inning. Well, these Orio hitters and players should know that you hit it to the wrong guy when you hit it down that third base line. Taking away extra bases off the end of the bat. Out in front a little bit on the four seamer and the extension for Manny out to the shortstop. Alacius short hand. Good arm had to hurry. Beavers beat it. Rice Glacius doesn’t know Dylan Beavers and but we know about him at 6’5. He can pick him up and put him down. It went through the wickets of Freddy Firmine and allows for both base runners to advance. And so you get a single here and the Orioles can take a two nothing lead. And Basiah with a missile pass the dive of Cronorth into right center field to drive home a pair. Beavers is in Carlson right behind him. A two-run double for Samuel Bosio. And it’s a two nothing jump by the birds here in San Diego. Well, a big Sam in the house here at Petco Park early. Third double of the season. You want to talk about turning one around. This is not where you want to pitch him. Fast ball right down the gut. And you talk about on time with 97. Sheets to third. Cronorth to second with one down. Johnson in the spot. 313 with runners in scoring position. 333 overall in 43 games. It’s to Johnson lined up the middle into center field and a base hit. Sheets will score. Croworth going to be held as Paul comes in towards the infield, but Bryce Johnson with another hit and an RBI single to get the Bobs on the board. It’s two to one. Little surprise leap held him there. I know Cone had to wait to see where that ball got through, but I don’t know that Carlson was even thinking about home. He comes up throwing right to second base. Shorter over for Arise in this spot. Two outs runners in scoring position at 266. Arise to left field. That’s in for a base hit. And in from third is Cronorth to tie the score at two. Luis Arise drives in the second run. What an AB that was. What a great inning for San Diego. Leading off with a couple of walks and Luis Arise doing what he does best. Okay, you’re going to pitch me away. I’m going to take it that way. And he’s fired up. Ninth pitch at bat. First and third with one away and a tie game. And Rivera lined out hard his first time up. Swing and a miss. And he struck him out. Needed that. Fourth strike out for Case. Two down. And a swing and a miss. Strike three. CE comes back with back-to- back Ks to end the inning and Strand runners at first and third. But Sio smoked a two-run double near the bag at second base’s first time up that went 110 mph. That’s Rocket up the right field line, screaming into the corner and down for a base hit. It’ll bang off the wall. Basia will lay out his second double of the night. He’s into scoring position with a ringing two bagger screaming through the sunshine deep down the right field line. Well, show them who you are, kid. And I tell you who he is. He is Sam I am. And Sam is getting it done today. And taking third base, Bisio. Now the go ahead run 90 ft away. Two two pitch. Swinging. Messi struck him out. Slider gets him. Sixth strike out for C. Second time. Mayo’s down by way of the K. This might be CE’s last hitter regardless. And a swing and a miss. Dylan ends up striking out backto back batters to get out of trouble here in the fourth inning after three and a half. Still tied at two against the Orioles. Last 11 for encompassing 12 total innings, four hits, zero earned runs, walking two, striking out 13. Can you say dominating? Yes, dominating. Oh, he’s he’s just fun to watch. And that’s a swing and a fly ball tagged at center field. Johnson on his way back. He’s at the track. He’s at the wall. It’s gone. facing one of the best relievers in the game. Jeremiah Jackson takes Adrien Morahon over the wall in center field. You know what? You can you can only laugh. My goodness gracious. Really? There are announcer jinxes and then there’s you. It happens. Oh, hey, I said it. I don’t care. It’s part of baseball. Unbelievable. Thank you, Mark Grant. Unbelievable. So, now two on and two out for another former Baltimore Orio, Raone Lauraniano. and a base hit into left field from third comes from Maine. This game is tied three to three. Raone Lauriano reach out. Serious coverage right here going down and in after that change up away. This one leaks down and in. Speeds up his bat and through the 5.5 hole. Cronorth leads it off here in the bottom of the six. Then towards the middle. Nice grab by Henderson to get the out. Gunner Henderson had made an error folks. I think what it 69 or 70 games now. Got to go back to June the eth. And I tell you what, this is about as good as it gets. 6’4 range and all the way over to second base. Slides quickly to his feet, points the shoulder. Go to the seventh inning. Back out there is Jason Adam on the ground softly hit. Oh no. The glacius will have no play anywhere. And down is Jason Adam. Oh no. Here’s what he says to them as he arrives. I felt something pop. Now watch his left leg as this ball is thrown. It just takes a little bit. Okay, he planted now the right. Now watch his left right here on that plant right there. See how they kind of twist a little bit. So Allstar Jason Adam leaving here as Robert Suarez takes over and a couple runners. Orioles would love to push one across here. So Beavers will bat. Beavers laces it to right field. That’s down for a base hit. Buck Britain wheels around Jackson. He’s coming home. Lauriana with the throw. It’s late and the runner is in. Jeremiah Jackson scores on the go-ahead base hit from Dylan Beavers and the Orioles take a 4-3 lead here in the seventh. Dylan Beavers does it again, folks. One down in the seventh inning. Here’s Arise. Here’s the ground ball back up the middle into center field. Hit number 1,000 in his career for Luis Arise. Get that baseball number 1,000 for Luis. Congratulations. There goes the runner. Swing and a miss. Garcia strikes out O’Harn and that’s how the seventh inning comes to an end. Two down in the ninth on the day that he gets his 1,000th career hit last time up in the seventh. He would like another one. Swinging a miss. He struck him out and the Orioles win. They take game one of the series. Bullpin got it done for the Orioles and the offense does just enough to win four to three.
