Phillies vs. Brewers Game Highlights (9/1/25) | MLB Highlights
It’s a perfect Labor Day for baseball in Milwaukee. What a series we have in store for you. It’s the best team in all of baseball, your Milwaukee Brewers. And they’re back home to take on the Philadelphia Phillies who have the second best records in the National League. The Brewers with on their mind as the calendar flips to September. They get right-hander Jacob Mizarowski. Last time he was on the mount, 10 strikeouts, only one walk against Arizona. Yeah, big big improvement from his start before. He had really good command with the fast ball and the slider. He’s been really good at home in five starts from Mizarowski. 3-0, a 216 earned run average. Tre Turner leads off for the Phillies. Breaking ball into shallow center for Perkins. And a fly out to center field. Now you look out for the thump. Kyle Schwarber second in the big leagues and homers. One behind Cal Raleigh. Had a four homer game over the weekend against the Braves. Got him. Top of the zone with 101. Three pitches to get Schwarber. That’s a very tough pitch to get a piece of 100 plus up the zone. We move from Schwarber right into Bryce Harper. Out to left center field. It’s not that deep. It’s going to drop in for a hit. Harper’s aboard. He’s now hitting 15 of 18. Real Mutoo is the batter. Real Mutoo one for nine last time these two teams faced each other. And a popup this one on the infield left side. Joey Ortiz drifting underneath of it. makes the catch and the inning is over. Right-hander Taiwan Walker, four and seven, very respectable 3.63 RA. He just hasn’t got any run support. Taiwan did face the Brewers earlier. He went four innings, seven hits, and four earned runs. Terang had 10 home runs in August. He’s hitting .287 with 16 home runs and 68 runs batted in. Fly ball center field well struck. It is back. Another one for Terra. A new month, the same result. What a heater this kid’s on, man. Well, don’t pinch him. He’s one of the few guys that don’t doesn’t want a day off tomorrow. Well, when you swing the bat like he’s been, he must want to keep playing. 16th home run allowed by Tylon Walker. Allowed just one home run in five starts in August for Walker. He’s allowed one to one batter in September. Now, Contraras, he also had a great month of August. 11 home runs for Contras since the last day of July. Then he lines this one down the line off the glove of Sosa. Contras hustling around first, digging for two. He’s in with a double. Breaking ball right down the middle and he hammers it like he’s been doing a lot. So he walks in first walk. It puts runners on first and second now. It’s up to Blake Perkins hitting in the six spot. Perkins of course with that ability to switch hit and get his glove in center. Another 3-2 and heads it to right. A base hit that might score two. Contrarus is in. Here comes Yich. Burn it around third. He scores. Three nothing Brewers after the first inning. A 32 pitch. Perkins able to hit it hard right by Harper down in the corner. And you knew that Christian Yell was going to be able to score. It’s like poetry watching him run. Harrison Bader the batter now and facing Mizarowski. Got him. Another strike out for Mizarowski. His second. He’s back to triple digits consistently. Pitching on five full days rest. Last time he worked was the 26th. Going away on Kepler. Here comes Miz. Got him. Fast ball in 100. Two strikeouts in a clean second inning. Durban one for two against Walker in his career. 257 hitter. Nine home runs and 46 driven in. Durban. A drive to left. Back goes March. He is staring. It is gone for Dur. That was a no doubter. Way back second deck. A 92 mph sinker. A 2-1 pitch. See you later. No doubt about that one. Way back in left. Halfway up the second deck. Man, how about the rookie season for Caleb Durban the Brewers are getting. There’s one away for Jake Bowers. Sharply towards Short. Diving stop made by Turner to his feet. Throws in time. What a play. And what a reaction by his teammates as well. And Mundo Sosa was almost cheering as he was getting to his feet and making that throw over to first base. Blake Perkins now the batter and a called strike three. A one, two, three, third inning for Taiwan Walker. His best one of the day. It’s four nothing Brewers as we go to the fourth. Dangerous part of the order coming up against Miserowski. Beginning with Kyle Schwarber. They just struck out Schwarber for a second time. Oneonone on that fast ball from Miz. Fast ball in. Tough to get the barrel to bat on that pitch. Bryce Harper steps in from the left side. He’s singled in his first at bat. One of the two hits the Phils have. That one’s in the air. Center field. Hit well. Perkins going back toward the wall. Back at the wall. It’s gone. Home run. Bryce Harper. His 23rd of the year. And he makes it a 41 ball game. That’s one way to get things going. Sure is. It’s only the sixth home run that Miseroski’s allowed this year. Base hit Joey Ortiz. Freelick never breaks stride. He’ll go to third without a throw. A perfectly executed hit and run single for Joey Ortiz to put him on the corners with only one out for the crew. It’s almost like Taiwan Walker wanted no part of Bryce Terang. He walked him on five pitches. That’ll load the bases for Jacksonio. Well, you’ve got Freelick at third. He singled. Ortiz at second. He’s singled Durang at first. He walked fly ball to left. Marsh back tagging and coming down the line to score as Freelick getting to third is Ortiz. Sack fly for Jackson Cheerio gets the job done. Was able to push a run cross. Still has not been able to avoid that big inning in any of his starts recently. Hopefully that’ll change here today. Some runners on the corners now with one out. Trey has a chance to drive it a run. He’s 0 for two. Lines that one out toward right field. That’s going to be in for an extra base hit. It’s going to go to the corner. One run is in. Here comes Stock steaming around third. He’s going to score. Going to third is Turner. It’s a tworun triple. And that puts the Phillies right back in this ball game. It’s five to three. A terrific hitting here by Trey Turner. And that’s going to be it for Miserowski. Once again, cannot afford the big inning. And the Phillies have their first two runners aboard here in the sixth with runners on the corners. Harrison Bader is the hitter. He’s 0 for two and he lifts this one to deep left field. Going back on it is Chorio and it’s over his head. It takes it off the wall. One run is in. The hold Marsh at third RBI double for Bader. It’s a 54 game. The Phillies have a lot of things going on right now and putting a lot of pressure on these Brewers big time. Nobody out. Runners at second and third. Phillies got something going here. Fly ball center field. Marsh is tagging. Under it is Perkins. The throw goes toward third. Marshall score. And the Phillies have come all the way back and tied this game up at five. A sack fly for Kepler. Go ahead run now in scoring position for Sosa. Fly ball right field. Should be deep enough. Frea gets under it. Tagging is Bader. Felic gets behind it. Here comes Bader. Here comes the throw. Offline and the Phillies have taken the lead. Backto back sacrifice flies. It’s a 65 game. So Durban works a one out walk. Moving up 90 ft on a wild pitch is Caleb Durban. So hopefully that will cost the Phillies as the tying run gets himself into scoring position here with two out. Not the way you wanted to start if you’re Alvarado. Alvarado kicks, delivers. The runner goes and the pitch is down and away. He works the walk and Durban walks into third and Jackson Churio going to try and come up with a big hit against Alvarado. Sack fly last time up two away. They’re on the corners to second base. Bobbled save game is tied. Oh my goodness. Bryson shorthhanded as they come at second base. He just booted it and this game is tied. Doesn’t take any talent to hustle. Well done by Cheurio. We remain tied as we go to the top in the eighth inning. Well, the new pitcher for the Brewers is right-hander Shelby Miller and Brandon Marsh will be the first to face him. And Marsh picks up his third hit of the day. Broke his bat and he’s got a leadoff single over the head of Andrew Vaughn. Now the Phillies have the go-ahead run aboard. Bader is one for three. Doubled his last time up and he lights that one out toward left field. Cheerios on the run. He won’t get there. It’s a one hop off the wall. Marshes to third. They’re waving him home. Here’s the throw by Ortiz. It won’t come. The Phillies have taken the lead. Bader with his second RBI double of the day. Wow. Harrison Bader is making his mark here with the Philadelphia Phillies. Jumps all over a first pitch fast ball and smokes it to left. But what a job by Brandon Marsh. Typically, you cannot score on this ball from first base, but he read it extremely well. Here’s Max Kepler. Miss down and in. Two and two is the count. And Shelby Miller feeling something after that delivery. Immediately winced. That is not good. No. Remember when the Brewers traded for him, felt like he was back up and running. Had that elbow issue. Not sure if this is related to it, but he is coming out of this game. Chris Hook was first out there. Pat Murphy is going to meet Shelby Miller. He felt something and he is in a lot of pain. Runner moves up to third is Bader. But now with two outs, Brewers will trade that of course. So now Bryson trying to get the runner home with two outs. Line drive down the right field line. That’s going to be in for a base hit and it’s going to trickle toward the warning track. Stoer scores and the Phillies lead it 8-6. Great job by picking up that big two out base hit. Two walks in a base hit in the inning and the Brewers have them loaded for the rookie of the year candidate Isaac Collins. Ground ball off the mound under the glass. Here comes Contress. He will score and we’re tied. Took a shot off the side of the mound and that was enough. Redirected just enough to get by Trey Turner and with two outs was able to tie it up with a breaking pitch. Again, Drake’s been playing an excellent brand of baseball on shortstop and just ball just scoots underneath his glove. It would have been a great play what he normally makes. Abner will try and keep the Brewers right there. He’s going to face the gauntlet. Schwarber, Harper, and Real Muto. Miss Low and he walked him. Leadoff man is on for Philadelphia for a fifth straight inning. Check swing. Did he go? No. Two and two. Brewers dug out. Can’t believe it. Not happy. Let’s see. Here’s one away. And now here’s JT Romut. Check swing appeal. No, he didn’t go. This is Jim Wolf. Yeah, they’re not calling any of them, man. Pat Murphy is fit to be tied. Oh, yeah. And Pat Murphy just got tossed by Jim Wolf. Chris Hook is coming out to chat with Urebe. Jim Wolf said, get back in the dugout. Murphy was made about the nonall on Bryce Harper. And in a situation like this, close game in the ninth. Just his second ejection of the year for Pat Murphy. And Murphy’s had enough at the third base so far. I don’t blame him. Here’s the look. Oh man. Yeah, he went. He went. Here’s Marsh. Three hits and four at bats. Go ahead run at second base for the Phillies. Ground ball right side into right field. A base hit. Stubs around third heading home. He’ll score the throw to third. RBI for Brandon Marsh. The Phillies are back on top. First earned run allowed by Abure in his last 19 appearances. And all of that made possible by a missed call by Jim Wolf over at first base. And now Harrison Bader. And Bader lifts that one to right field. It’s not that deep. Going out is Terra. He can’t get it. Another run will score. The throw goes to third. Marsh is out at third. It’s 108 Phils. But they’re going to check this on this play to third base. Little snow cone action. Think they got him. I think they do. Held on to the ball. Super close. But part of the issue here was that that Brandon slowed down for some reason and looked back to see if maybe the ball was caught. After do we call him the field stands, runner is out. Philadelphia. It is Joe on Duron time as the Phillies have a safe situation as we go to the bottom of the ninth inning. They lead it by two. Joey Ortiz the batter. He bounces it to third. Sosa has it. Throws across the diamond in time. And you want to talk about a gut check victory for the Philadelphia Phillies. They get it here today over the Milwaukee Brewers as they come from behind and win it 10-8.

Great 👍 come back Phils ⚾💪💯🎯🔥 stay hot for the post season.!!!
Baby miz😢 future Dogers💙
This game was rigged. Horrible calls in the ninth inning against the Brewers. Makes me sick. What a joke.We need accountability.
Happy US Labor Day and what a battle between top two teams
Real Talk I'm a Phillies Fan! Both of those calls were Horrible! They Both Went! Harper and J.T. However the Good Teams just stay Focused and Control what they can control and continue to play their game! Missed Calls can Happen in any game and to any team, however you have to keep Fighting! That's why These Guys are the Fighting Phils! They Keep Fighting to the End! ❤
THE HARRISON BADER AND BRANDON MARSH GAME. 🐐💪🏼🔥
HARRISON F…N BADER!!!!
What a pick up getting Bader with Duran… A Dombrowski masterclass.
Two bad ump calls cost brewers the game.
I thought for SURE Brewers had an easy win… I was at this game though and the crowd was crazyyyy. It was a good back and forth game, i was just happy to see Turang hit that homer!! GO BREWERS!!!!
Brewers fan here and was at this game. Honestly huge respect for the Phils with the timely hits and clutch moments but that check swing was absolute BS lol
My Brewers got railroaded in this game because of the check swings
Yankee legend Harrison bader
Misiorowski
"Me-show-ROHF-ski" ⭕
"Miza-ROW-ski" ❌
The swings looked checked to me, but this will become challengeable soon.
Phillies never gave up and I feel like Thomson handled this game pretty pretty well! #Phillies
Imagine if Bryce Harper didn't believe he was too cool to actually stretch at first. 8:11 He costs the Phils runs almost every game with that laziness. He'd rather flinch than work 8:21
If anyone is interested, the actual check swing rule is very interesting. Most of baseball culture thinks that it’s a full swing if the swing is parallel with the plate, but the actual rule is 45° past parallel with the plate. This means that neither of the batters in the ninth for the Phillies actually swung. I am also not a Phillies fan lol
Thank you Lord for giving us ALL the talents and abilities to perform for your Glory. Amen.
Can't wait for robo umps
Great move snagging bader, he’s fitting in perfectly
this game is a potential NLCS
Always, 5th inning problems for Brewer starters.
Ring The Bell..!! 🔔
Umps gave up 10 runs
Great game to watch!! I love both these teams, so whoever won was good with me. 🇨🇦
6 adds while I was watching this cmonmlb
Low iq brewer announcers and fans do not care. They will pretend like those were swings. They werent.
Let's go Brew Crew!
ご覧いただきありがとうございます
NL-E leader vs NL-C leader🫣
NL-W leader will be the 3rd seed.
How do you miss 2 checked swings
3:33 god imagine five days off. 😂 pitchers are on gods timing
Turner…!!!!! Still on point with the d pause…
Not to be forgotten the Brewers sweep I Phillie earlier this year. We need one of the next two games to keep a tiebreaker edge, just in case the 2 teams end up tied for the most wins in the NL. Two very good teams going at it.
Today you guys saw a perfect example of why my Phillies can't afford to trade Brandon Marsh. Marsh might not score a lot of HRs, but he plays excellent defense and makes winning plays. He was tremendous in today's game as he went 4-5.
Take that L fraud brewers
Aww, cry baby Brewer announcers, learn how check swings are actually ruled.
The Brewers crying and losing their mind over the check swing (which it was) is just frustration over the fact that they lost control of the game after Mizzy sputtered out. They were very cocky until the Phillies battled back even with two gift errors. The fans even started to boo. The Brewer fan boy broadcasters are clowns blaming the ump. It was pathetic. The better team won today.
I guess the Brewers haven't been putting the enhancing funny stuff in their beer lately
Will you guys stop with the umps can't you tell they're going by a script
Great game
Not a fan of either team, those aren’t swings Bryce Harper 1000% didn’t swing and neither did JT. It was arm swings. You cannot be so foolish. You have to try to be an unbiased just plain baseball fan. Those are two hitters who did their job
Also, not to mention, it’s a super bad look when you’ve been as lucky as the Brewers have been all season long to start crying about Check swings. A little crazy that you’re this tight about one game. You need it that bad? Those aren’t swings. Shut up and sit down. That is such a childish. Bad look
Right from the get go the Phillies looked nonchalant and I knew they were beat already.
How much rigging goes on anyways, it's not a good look…
