Ceedee Lamb: They Know Us, We Know Them | Dallas Cowboys 2025

What was your reaction when you got news of Michael Parson’s trip? Uh, I think I posted an emoji. That was a real emotion. Yeah, that’s my dog, man. He knows it. I expressed to him just about every week I could. So, I feel like he knows where we stand as far as brotherhood, friendship, and all that. So, um, obviously wishing him the best. Hope he has the best season ever. And, um, he he’s Michael Parsons, you know what I’m saying? He’s unblockable. He’s unstoppable. So, hope he terrorize those guys over there. What’s it going to be like on September 28th? The worst. It’s going to be weird. It’s going to be conflicting. And I hope he is not in a back field in two seconds. Dead ass. Do you just charge us up the business though? Business of the game. People learning this. This is the reality of a pro game. Yeah, it is, bro. It is. And um I’ve learned that last year obviously. And um you only you only can go off your own experience. And a lot of people won’t even realize half of what’s going on. And I understand you want to think about the team and you want to think about everything else, but man, you got to take care of your family first. And um this is his first big contract and I feel like he needs to get everything you deserve and he did. And shout out him for that. That’s your dog. There’s a lot of players dogs in the locker room. How are y’all as a team managing this losing a guy that y’all were so close to? Honestly, it sucked. Uh a lot of people on the team. I mean, we’re really close with Micah and um he was really good with a lot of people. You know what I’m saying? He can relate to a lot of people. He loved to compete. Him as a competitor, him as a player, him as a brother, him as a friend. And um overall, like I said, bro, he would be missed for sure by me and um a couple other guys that I can name off the top of my head, but I mean, obviously, I’d rather not, but as for him, again, I I wish him nothing but the best and I hope he stays healthy throughout this whole season and um go kill it. Was the whole locker room surprised by this decision? I mean, yeah, essentially. Some I mean, some people knew more than others. I didn’t know anything. I didn’t know what was going on. I just assumed that he was going to get a phone call that he was going to be coming back here. He was going to get paid. I just didn’t know how much. Now, were was the opinion of Micah? Did everybody feel the same way about him? Some players What opinion? I don’t just in terms of his how he ruffled feathers in the front office. Oh, yeah. I I wasn’t I don’t know anything about that honestly, but um he ran. That’s for sure. Did everyone love my guesses? Yes. In my eyes, from what I’ve seen, yes. Easy or hard for everyone to move on because there is a game. I mean, yeah, for sure. Um, I wouldn’t say it was easy for us to move on, nor would I say it’s hard. It’s just it’s it sucks. You know what I’m saying? It’s just like a repetitive thought. Granted, we did get a great player in Kenny in Kenny Clark. So, uh, let’s not override that. But as Michael being drafted here, um I would have loved for him to finish his his career and uh with a star on his helmet, but obviously that wasn’t the case. But um yeah, man, that’s that sucked. On a bright bright note, you being named captain, just talk about how that feels. Ah, that’s surreal. It wasn’t I mean, I didn’t think it was real until he gave me the patch, honestly. And I’ve always wanted one for sure. and to lead the troops and for those guys that really trust in me and that speaks volume of the organization. They believe in me and my ability and my ability to lead and um yeah, I’m going to take it and run with it, man. That tells you where your growth cuz you was Amar’s little brother. Then he was uh still am. You know what I’m saying? You learning from them. Now people are learning from you. Yeah. No, for sure. Uh if those who don’t know, I’m a learn I’m a student of the game. And again, shout out Coupe, bro. I’m I’mma do it. I’m going to give him his his flowers for as long as I’m here. And um if it wasn’t for him, I don’t know if I would have been as successful as running routes as I am now. But I’ve learned so much from him in two and a half years. And I feel like without him, it’s it’s it’s been I don’t know, bro. But I’ve learned a lot. And again, shout out him. And man, he taught me how to be a professional, a receiver, and to be dominant in this position. Have you been a captain before? High school, college? Yeah, in college I have. uh high school I was, but I mean it was never with a C on my chest. What is that? What is that C rep to you? Some elite work. I love that. As one of the captains on offense, what’s your message going into the game for the offense as far as trying to get started quickly? We got to go out here and compete, man. We got to play. We got to play together. We got to be physical. And I mean, we can’t be reactive as far as them bringing a punch to us and then it was like, “Oh snap, we in the game.” You know what I’m saying? And I feel like we got to go out there, match energy, if not have them match our energy. And I mean, everybody’s going to have a lot of excitement. It’s the first game. It’s week one. But then again, we also got to realize that everything is not going to be perfect week one. And the season don’t end in week one. And I’m not saying that to negate any thoughts because we still going in here thinking we going to win this game. So, is it surreal? They’re going to be celebrating their title. You know, you I don’t know if you have to watch this ceremony. No, I’m going to watch it. I’mma watch it. Shout out them for that. Shout out J cuz I still got brothers over there. You know what I’m saying? It’s not it’s not really anything personal, but it’s something that I’m chasing. So, why do you want to watch it? Uh, motivation. Motivation. There’s a lot of external excitement about what you and George Pickkins can do, I guess. How excited are you individually just to see that? Very excited, man. I can’t even put it into words. I tell my camp back at home, my brothers, my family, my friends, how excited I am. And obviously, I don’t want to keepress expressing it to the media. I’ll let you guys do that. But as for us, we got to go out there and do what we do every day as as we’ve been doing and just continue that on throughout the season and never really get complacent or too excited about the moment that we’re embracing. Obviously, the Eagles are a very familiar opponent, but they have had a lot of changes in their secondar. So, how is that preparation going? It’s not like you can look at the starters in preseason. I mean, we’re very again, like you said, we’re very familiar with those guys and big fanio. We play I played him three this will be my third time third and fourth time this year. So his defensive scheme don’t really change much. Um he does a great job of really just comboing receivers and seeing uh the tendencies that we run and try to adapt off them. But as for us we just got to go out there and prepare and play fast. And one of your fellow captains back year 10. You’ve been here for about half of it. What do you see from him in terms of his motivation? He’s confident man. He got a swag to him. And I mean, I say this every year, but I mean, every year is like a year of elevation. You learn from your past mistakes and you try to get better off of it. And I feel like he has. And I can’t wait to go out there and play with him again this season. Night kickoff. What do you do? How do you how do you pass the time for before a night on a night kickoff? Just prepare, man. Prepare. There’s no such thing as overpreparation. You can’t over you can’t just play the game over and over until the game actually comes. So when it comes and you making you see yourself making this play, it’s like, I thought about this already. So, it’s not really new to you, nor is it new to your internal self. So, just again, put yourself in the game and um study your keys, study your film, and make sure that you got everything that you need to play fast. Your offensive line pretty young, some guys playing for the first time. How much does that affect how you run your routes or maybe how especially against a Dline like the Eagles? They don’t change anything. They don’t change anything. I tell my old line, just give us three to four seconds. If nobody’s open, ask us. I feel like teams are or even us in the media underestimating that you guys could beat. Absolutely. But it’s fine though. Does that angers you guys or motivates you? What does that emotion? Absolutely. But it’s fine though. For some of the younger guys on offense, like obviously rookie Jay and Blue or or Tyler Booker, for example, what’s your message as offensive captain to those guys so they don’t get, you know, too outside of their shoes and feel? Compose yourself, man. Just compose yourself. Uh this game has been a game still the same game that you’ve played since you were a kid, since pee-wee, obviously. just people are a little a little bit stronger and smarter. You know what I’m saying? But other than that, man, it’s still the same game. Just read your keys, do your job, just hold your 111 and be yourself. Play the game as as if you are that kid, as if you are in college. You know what I’m saying? You might see some guys that you’ve seen in college, which I’ve done. So, you’ll see some familiar faces. Just just go out there and be yourself. Thank you. Appreciate that.

CeeDee Lamb talked to the media to discuss the Micah Parsons trade, being named a captain of the football team this season, his message to the offense for the upcoming season opener vs the Philadelphia Eagles and more.

  1. Really starting to feel like there might’ve been quite a few people that were happy to see Micah go. CeeDee was having a hard time hiding that with his phrasing.

  2. He is Micha P, Unblockable, Unstoppable… Your on the wrong team to get what your gonna watch happen b4 the game Thursday CD… It sucks too because to see this team win Chips is LIKE NO OTHER… But the Jones are in your way.. So play out you contact and go get yours somewhere ELSE is my advise…

  3. I’m glad CeeDee not a hater and he is being real with how the team really did liked Micah. The “bad teammate” narrative the news and some of these so called Cowboy fans kept saying been crazy.

  4. Why do these guys speak with no correct dialect???
Did they graduate Highschool? College? It’s truly sad they can’t speak properly.

  5. Block Parsons and Catch passes, make tackles, Score TD's , intercept passes, recover fumble s, quit worrying and talking about a player who is now your competition and win games, we sick of hearing about it…. Let's gooooo
