Tennessee Titans fan immediate reaction to GREAT NEWS from Titans week 1 practice!

Tennessee Titans fans, week one is upon us. It is here this Sunday. The Tennessee Titans and the Denver Broncos going against each other in Denver in week one of the regular season. And we’ve got some good news coming out of Nashville today about a number of guys that have been injured that have been sidelined as training camp in the preseason have gone on. But it is officially game week. It is officially week one and we’ve got some good news to report here. Check this out. From Terron Davenport, Titans right tackle JC Laam is back at practice today after missing the last few practices. Tvandre Sweat, Kevin Winston Jr., Kell Mullings, Legious Sneed, Lloyd Kushenberry, all practiced. Game week is indeed upon us. And if that does not fire you up as a Tennessee Titans fan, I don’t know what does. These are all major players on this team for the Titans. JC Laam, starting right tackle, had missed a few practices. Some people were starting to wonder what the heck’s going on, but he’s back out there today. A full go. That is great news. Tvandre Sweat back out there. Feels like it’s been weeks since Tvandre Sweat was actually back on the practice field in a meaningful capacity. He had his tonsils taken out. He had to recover from that. I will still say I’m a little concerned about Devandre Sweat’s conditioning because he’s a big guy. He hasn’t, you know, he didn’t play in the last two preseason games at least. So, there were some reps that maybe he missed that as a year two player looking to build on what I thought was a good year one. I’m still a little concerned about Sweat’s conditioning. But, if they feel good about it, which apparently they do, then fine. Kevin Winston Jr., that is one that I am very happy about. Very good news about the rookie safety. Third rounder, we knew he was coming off of a major injury. They took him out a couple of weeks ago as a kind of a precautionary thing and he never really got back in as a full go at practice. Everybody’s wondering what the heck’s going on, but for week one, Kevin Winston is back out there. I don’t know how much he will play on Sunday because the Titans have a pretty stable room of safeties uh that are veterans. So, I don’t know how much Kevin Winston you’ll see on Sunday, but the fact that he’s able to go and that he’ll be dressed out and available for the Titans, that is good news. Kell Mullings, the running back, I that was somebody that I kept asking about. I knew he got hurt in the final preseason game against Minnesota, but I wasn’t quite sure the uh severity of it. They weren’t really saying, but it looks like it is nothing serious at all as Kell Mullings is back out there today and he could have an opportunity to do some things as soon as this Sunday with Tai Spears being on IR and Kell Mullings having a good preeason. Tony Pard obviously can’t just do all of the carries for the Titans this Sunday. So, Kell Mullings could get some action. Legious Sneed of course, good to see him back out there after the months and months and months of wondering is he ever going to be back. Legius Sneed back out there full go today and I expect him to be needless to say starting on Sunday against Denver. And then Lloyd Cushenberry which I think at this point was a given that we knew Lloyd Cushenberry against his former team is going to be able to go. I think it’s kind of been trending in that direction for a while. I do want to also show you this from Terron about Kevin Winston. No sleeves or anything other than shorts for Kevin Winston Jr. naked knees for a guy coming back from ACL surgery last September is a good sign for the Titans rookie. The fact that they are willing to let him go out there, you know, with no extra padding or anything around that knee tells me that they feel good about where he’s at and he feels good about where he’s at. I know a lot of us are excited about Kevin Winston. The third round pick could be viewed as a real steal for the Titans in the third round of the 2025 draft. I am very excited that he is out there and that he is a full go. No precautionary measures really needing to be taken surrounding his knee. He’s healed up. He’s ready to go. And like I said, I don’t know how much of a factor he’ll play on Sunday against Denver, but I do believe that he is headed in the right direction and by at least the the halfway point, maybe even sooner, you could see him getting meaningful playing time for the Titans. I wanted to show you this post from Terry McCormack who said this uh Cal Brian Callahan did a press conference today and he said he feels good about where Lloyd Kushenberry, JC Laam, Tvandre Sweat and Deleius Sne are in their endurance said they will see about where they are when injury report comes out Wednesday. So Callahan kind of contradicting himself a little bit by saying I feel good about where they are. We’ll see where they are when the injury report comes out on Wednesday. We’ll we’ll talk about that on Wednesday when that rolls around. But I’m sure Legious Sneed being a veteran that’s been in this league a long time. I’m sure he’s ready to go. I know Cushenberry is I think Laam, you know, Laam I don’t think was ever a serious thing. I just think it was precautionary. Tore Sweat, like I said, that’s the main one I’m worried about because he’s a bigger guy because he’s a young player. The endurance, the reps that he was not able to get for a couple of weeks there due to recovering from getting his tonsils taken out. It’s it that’s the only one that kind of doesn’t make me feel great. Some more quotes from the Brian Callahan presser talking about this year’s leaders. He said, “It’s really easy to lead when things go well. The real leadership comes when adversity comes. We’re a much more connected team.” This is the part I want you to zero in on. We’re a much more connected team. I feel really good about where we are with our leaders. We’re in a much better place. Now, obviously Brian Callahan on at least a little bit of a warm seat, so he kind of has to say that, but I do feel like from what I see as a fan, it does feel like a more connected team than it did one year ago at this time. Um, the Titans last year really from start to finish felt like a team that was not connected. They felt like a team that was not on the same page. Not that they like had drama in the locker room or they didn’t like each other, but it just felt like a team that was a bunch of individuals coming in, going to work, doing their thing, and then clocking out and going home. It didn’t feel like a brotherhood. It didn’t feel like a team. It didn’t feel like a group of guys that were fighting for one another. And that does reflect on coaching. And it’s it’s good that Brian Callahan realized it, saw it, and and addressed it coming into his second year as a coach. I think don’t not just going by what he said. Calvin Ridley said within the last couple of weeks that this locker room is a lot more connected and they’re a lot more uh they’re a lot closer than the locker room from last year was. And that’s a good sign. Listen, ultimately it’s going to come down to what happens on the field. For Brian Callahan to keep his job, it’s going to come down to what happens on the field. For us all to feel good about where the organization is heading, it’s going to come down to what happens on the field. And I understand that. But it is encouraging at this point to see that there is more connection, there is more camaraderie, there is a more close-knit group and and leadership within the locker room. I think they’ve stressed in in the NFL, we know the most important thing you can have is leadership in the locker room. It shouldn’t come down to the coaches to have to come in there every day and get the guys rallied. It should be the players leading that within the locker room. The Titans didn’t have that last year and what a coincidence. They were the worst team in the NFL. Let’s look at more quotes from Brian Callahan who said that in the preseason they were the least penalized offense, top 10 least penalized defense, zero fumbles. Not saying it will carry over, but it is good to see. And that’s kind of where I stand with it, too. Listen, you can’t put too much stock in anything you see in the preseason. You can’t put too much stock into anything you see in August. But that’s all we have to go on right now. And so in those regards, in terms of penalties, turnovers, it is good to see the Titans doing better at that with the opportunities that they’ve had. Now, if you come out in the regular season and and it’s the same stuff as last year, then none of that preseason stuff matters. But maybe that can be a good indicator that we’re figuring out these penalties that were so detrimental to this team last year and the turnovers. Hopefully that is a sign that things are headed in the right direction. One more quote from Callahan. Jim Wy at the legend said uh that Callahan said, “Feel good about the wide receiver group we have going into Denver. Some unproven guys for sure, but we feel good about the group.” Um unproven guys. Yes. I mean, he’s referring to Ellio Manor, Chim Ray DK, and Bryce Oliver. Those are the unproven guys. Uh Tyler Lockett, like I’ve said in the past, you know what you’re getting with him. Van Jefferson, you know what you’re getting with him. And then Calvin Ridley’s a stud. But I’m looking at those young guys. Elio Manor, Chim Ray DK, Bryce Oliver. At least one of you guys got to step up and do something in this game on Sunday in this season coming up. You’ve got to do something. You’ve got to emerge as a reliable target for Cam. And I’ll throw Gunnar Helm in there. I’ll throw Chica Conquo in there as well. You guys have got to help him out. You guys have got to because they’re gonna put Patrick Certan on Calvin Ridley this Sunday and life’s going to be a little hard for him. Somebody else has got to become a reliable target. We can’t have guys dropping passes, not getting open. We got to have other wide receivers. So, Callahan’s right. There are some unproven guys that on this roster in this team really need to prove it. Week one, this Sunday, Titans, Broncos. I just got done doing a podcast today, giving my predictions for the season in terms of who I think will win every division, go to the Super Bowl, all of that stuff. And this Friday, I’ll be previewing week one. Get subscribed on the Two Tone Talk podcast. There’s never been a better time to do it than right now. It’s week one. Tighten up, everybody. Say bye.
