NBA 2K26 EARLY ACCESS – CLIPPERS vs HORNETS

Here we go. Tip off goes to the Clippers. Now the opening lineup for the Los Angeles Clippers. Dun and Kawawaii. They’re the wings. Collins at power forward. Zubots in the middle. And it’s Harden in at the point guard position. Now here’s Zubats. Here’s Leonard. Nice start for him. Sinking his first shot. I like Leonard’s shot right there. He’s very comfortable from that distance. [Applause] Ball passes to Plumbley. It’s Bridges on the wing. [Applause] Miller outside. Shot clock at six. [Applause] Rebounded by Dunn. Now Los Angeles with it. Here’s Leonard. Oo, excellent D there from Ball. And here’s Bridges. He’ll bring it up for the Hornets. And this is year two for coach Charles Lee at the helm of the Hornets Grant. Yeah, BA. A long time assistant. He knocked on plenty of doors before finally securing the lead role, and that’s determination to break through. Something he’s looking to impart to his young roster. He’s showing off his eye for finding open teammates. Canipple is no selfish rookie. Don outside. Pass to Collins. Nice ball movement by Los Angeles. Here’s Dunn. Takes a three. Ball with the rebound. First quarter just about 2 minutes in. Here’s Canipple. Deflects the pass. Stolen by Harden. Now Los Angeles moving it up. Here’s Dunn and it’s rejected and they’re able to recover. [Applause] Ball with it. And keeping us updated from the sideline, Alli Leforce. I briefly spoke with Charles Lee. We talked about Kawhi Leonard and how much his experience plays a role. He mentioned when you have a guy like Kawawaii, you can take one aspect of his game, but he’s so skilled and experienced that he will find another way to beat you. They’ve got their hands full with the vet. Ba. All right. Appreciate it, Ally. So, it’s Los Angeles now. Half to the basket by Charlotte. Done attacking. Hey, how’s that for an answer right back with the dunk? Done finishing in style and the explosion to the hoop. Powerful ball outside. And here’s Canipple from the arc. That shot no good. And so it’s Collins who brings up the ball for the Clippers. Miller against Leonard. Here’s Zubox. And it’s slammed in by Zubox. You expect Kawhai to take the shot, but he cleverly makes a pass. Hornets trail by four. Ball passes to Plumbley. Here’s Canipple. Defended by Harden. Pass to Bridges. Just five on the clock. Miller buries it from three. Love the confidence from this young man. Miller so quick off the catch. The Clippers have gone four of seven, shooting a solid percentage out left to the wing. Done. And the pass to Harden, the floater. [Applause] Leonard outside. Oh, sweet move and they pick up two. An incredibly strong player. Leonard able to convert through the contact. And a chance to catch up on some numbers here. The scoring breakdown for the Clippers. Everything working for them inside so far, guys. Tons of high quality shots that they’re knocking down inside. And I just love playing on teams like this, passing teams. You can tell they really like playing with each other. And hopefully they keep this up. [Applause] And the free throw no good. You know, when you talk Kawi Leonard, you start with his defense. And I don’t know if there’s a better wing defender around. Here’s Zubatz. Oh, he’s looking comfortable now. Three for three. That’s the finesse part of his game right there. Lofting in that little teard drop. Ball right side out to Bridges. Yes, sir. And it’s Ball with the assist that time. No hesitation from Bridges there. He knows exactly when he should look to shoot it off the catch. outside. Harden. [Applause] Kicks it out to Collins. [Applause] Leonard on the wing. Guarded by Miller. Leonard can’t get it to go. He’s as surprised as we are. Most nights that bucket is automatic. Slam dunk by Plumbley. Great teamwork on that drive. Punctuated by a strong finish. That is the perfect fast break, guys. Getting a hoop before the defense can get set. Now, here’s Dun. Leonard outside. [Applause] He can’t hit that time. Great D that time from Miller. Now Bridges. Miller outside. Plumbley. A screen on Collins. Miller. The pass to Plumbley. And he misses the go-ahead basket. The Clippers have gone. Six of 11 so far. Now here’s Harden. No points so far. Leonard outside. Great D that time from Miller. The Hornets have gone five of eight. Solid opening quarter for them. And the dunk to finish it off. A beauty. Rising to meet the challenge of that interior defense. What a play by Miller. Pass to Zubots. Now Leonard. Guarded by Miller. Back to Zubots. Their [Applause] offense stone cold. Another miss there. Charlotte has gone two for three from outside the arc. Now Miller to the inside. Here’s Plumbley. Slam dunk by Plumbley. The BA when he gets the rim in his sights, it’s tough to stop. So aggressive and a determined finisher. Nice. And guys, I like the fact that he chose the one hand tomahawk slam because you get a little higher when you go off one hand and one foot. And so Tailoo calls a timeout. Coach taking this moment to speak to his guys, maybe alter some of the game plan. Some changes for Los Angeles. Lopez, he’s checked in for Zubots. Bdonovich comes in for Leonard. And it’s Beal in for Dunn. Here’s [Applause] Lopez. Collins outside. [Applause] Pass to Lopez. And here’s Beal. Nice move. Five to shoot for three. Collins drops in the three. And this is a part of Collins game that’s really evolved. Hitting jumpers and catch and shoot. And so it’s ball with it. He brings it up for Charlotte. Bridges outside. There’s a screen. Now here’s Ston from downtown. Collins with the rebound. And the go-ahead bucket. No good. The Hornets with a lead. Pass to Ball. Takes the three. Sinks the tray. Sneaking out to the corner. Can’t lose LaMelo. He’ll make you pay if you do. Lopez. The screen on Ston. Now Bdonovich. That one’s in there on the nice assist from Beal. And this is just fun. These teams are trading threes back and forth. Nothing like answering back. One team gets three, you fire three of your own. Boom. Now here’s Ston. Still no points. You could see Lopez tracking that shot the whole way. Nice awareness from him and a terrific rejection as well. First trip to the free throw line for him in this one. Yeah, that’s a great asset to have guys um for any team coming down the stretch in close games. They got a guy who’s confident and very good at the line. When he steps up there, you feel good about it. First free throw is good. And Los Angeles making a change here. Jones has checked in. He’s perfect from the line this time. It’s not luck that he’s so steady at the line. It’s through repetition and hard work to the paint. It’s tipped outside. Bdonovich. Can’t tie it up. That one misses. Here’s Charlotte. They’re on a 14-6 run. Ball taking his time here. [Music] It’s Bridges on the wing and the three-pointer goes. Bridges has got six points. Always looking to make an impact and capable of doing so. When Bridges sees a shot, he does not hold back. He lets it fly. Here’s Harden. Back to Beal [Applause] outside. Jones fires the three. Hornets with the rebound. After going undrafted in 2016, Derek Jones Jr. carved out an important role for himself, Clark. Yeah, he really did. And it was all about refinement. Early on, BA, he was seen almost exclusively as just a dunker, but now he’s a valuable 3 and D guy. Credit to him for refining that part of his game and proving as a three-point shooter and continuing to impact the game at the defensive end. Now, here’s Bridges. He’s got six pass to bowl. Here’s McNeely. The three is up. Bradley Bo with a rebound. Time now to hear from our reporter Ally Leforce. Thanks, BA. Lamela Ball is a playmaker first and foremost. He said, “I just start off the game trying to get my team involved, get the flow going. After the team’s going, I try to get mine. If you get the team involved first, more pieces going, it just makes the game easier.” Brian, back to you. A great passer, Ally. Thanks very much for the report. Here’s Ball following the three-pointer by Los Angeles. And the call will be against James Harden. That’s his first foul. Charlotte making some changes. Diabate checked in for Bridges. And it’s man in for LaMelo Ball. [Applause] 114 left in the first quarter here. Stolen by Harden and it’s the Clippers on the break. Mdonovich from long range. Diovate grabs the board. Charlotte leading by three. [Applause] left side man to the middle and he goes strong with the one-handed jam. Nice one-handed jam. Simple ineffective. Ba. Hey, with the lead. I’m surprised he didn’t come up with something a little more creative. Well, I think he did plenty of damage nonetheless. I mean, it was only with one hand, but he still threw that down pretty hard. Such confidence as a passer. He hits guys in stride and makes it look easy. Pass to McNeely. 23 seconds left in the first quarter and he got the whistle on the way up. So, he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. Heading play to stop that easy layup right there. I mean, make him earn it at the line. Yeah, exactly. I mean, free throws are always better than a layup. So, I’d agree with you there. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. Let’s get it. Get it. No good on that one. Batum has checked in for Los Angeles. [Applause] And he’s good on the second. Clippers trail by four. And here’s Peele. He’s scoreless. launches it. It’s not going to go for him. It’s been all about Mason for Charlotte. Eight points in the quarter. showing how effective he can be. All right, we’ll get back to the action after this break. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Hope you’ve enjoyed the broadcast so far, halfway through the first half in this one. And let’s take a moment to get your take, guys, on the scoring so far for the Hornets. You know, so far in this one, these guys have been knocking it down from distance. You’ve got to like their confidence as this game continues. They’re on a nice roll. Yeah. I also like how they’ve immediately gotten out in transition. They came to run and we’ll see if they can keep it up. So here are the five for the Clippers to start the second. The and Kawaii operate together on the wings. It’s Batum at the power forward with Zubots at center. And it’s Harden in at the one. Here’s Zubots following the bucket by the Hornets. Here’s Leonard. A shot no good. And here’s Miller. He’ll bring it up for Charlotte. They lead by six. That’s their biggest margin. Yeah. Showing he’s not just a shooter. Canipple the rookie with a nice take. And about a minute gone in the second quarter. Harden. The pass to Leonard. [Applause] Nice ball movement by Los Angeles. Oh, ripped away. Fast break. Here come the Hornets. Plumbley with it. Harden picks him up and that one’s good, man. And now a 10-point Hornet lead and just totally relentless. only increasing the intensity level. Yeah, I love the fact he doesn’t play the score. He just keeps coming. Attack mode. He doesn’t know how to step off the gas. Now here’s Harden. No points yet. Six on the shot clock. Harden drawing the double team. Los Angeles needs to get off a shot. Yes. And it’s Leonard with the assist that time. Well, most NBA teams run their offense through their star player, but Grant, that can leave a team vulnerable when that player has an off night. You know, in a strange way, it’s almost better if your star is out of the game. I know that sounds weird, but those complimentary players get increased opportunities and are emboldened to do more. The rookie conciple with the confident answer, a three of his own after the one on the other side. Come get it. Come get it. Matum outside. Pass to Leonard and it’s out of bounds. The Clippers able to retain possession here. A great read to get a hand in there and disrupt the play. And you know, even though they didn’t come up with the steal, that’s still a nice defensive play. Bridges, he’s checked in for Charlotte. Ball comes in for man. And the Clippers making a change here as well. Collins checked in. Now here’s Zubatz. Six points for him. And here’s Collins. Three-pointer ball with the rebound. Bridges against Collins out to the right wing. Ball outside. [Applause] Collins finds Harden. Leonard for three. Misses again. Two for eight in this matchup. Oh man, he can’t get anything to fall. You can feel his frustration and he’s got to find other ways to contribute then because his shot making is not happening right now. Charlotte shooting their fifth and six free throw attempts tonight. shooting two. First one falls for him. If there’s anybody that can come out of college and command leadership right away, it’s Khan Canipple. Done. He’s checked in for Beiel. And that’s good as he hits both shots. Clippers trail by 12. [Applause] outside. Harden Collins a screen [Applause] fires it and once again off the mark by Los Angeles. Miller with it and it’s Leonard picking him up. Miller the pass to Plumley. Leonard against Miller. Pass to Caniple from behind the ark. His fourth make in five tries. Solid start for him. Bang bang as they say. Piple with a quick release off the catch. Leonard on the wing. Stolen by Miller inside. Plumbley. Slam dunk by Plumbley. And that’s what happens when you don’t take care of the ball. Hey, that makes the turnover hurt even more. What you you mean the throw down at the end? I’ll tell you what, fellas. I mean, the highlight shows are going to pain them even more. And so Tailoo calls a timeout and we might see some changes. Coach potentially looking to adjust. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] And so it’s Leonard who brings up the ball for the Clippers. 17-point game. Kicks it out to Collins. Nice ball movement by Los Angeles. Pass to Leonard. Outside Harden. Collins with a screen on ball. Five on the clock. Harden from outside. Two shots, two makes. Off to a good start. And we know Harden is a laser now. He has confidence in that long ball. The defense has got to get on it. Here’s Leonard outside for Harden. Pass to Dun. [Applause] Leonard left side. looking to get it going. Miller pulls it in. Charlotte leading by 14. Now here’s ball. Miller the pass to ball puts up a deep three. Leonard pulls down the board. Clippers trail by 14. During his career, we’ve seen LaMelo ball score from just about everywhere. Clark. Yeah, you know, he’s really a talented player. I mean, he can make it hard on any defense. He’s always in motion and he knows what to do when he catches the basketball. And he’s unpredictable in how he goes about it. He’s a hard cover for sure. The shot by Dunn. No good. Maybe he thinks he has that type of range, but I don’t think his coaches will agree. Yeah. You know what? Sometimes guys have the green light to take that shot, but I don’t think he’s one of them. Now, here’s Miller. He’s got five. Up again. It’s good on the foot back. There you go. Relentless pursuit of the ball. I love it. He never stopped working. Collins outside. Zubots finds Collins. Don outside. Collins a screen. The three and once again off the mark by Los Angeles. Hornets leading by 16. Miller outside. The three is up. That’s good from Canipple. on the assist from Miller. Canipple’s got 15. And another one from Canipple. I mean, he’s in a major groove tonight. Boy, they’d love if anyone could get a bucket. Yeah, their offense has been grinding to a halt. Done. The pass to Leonard. [Applause] Harden from outside. Ooh, he’s looking comfortable now. Three for three. They knew this was coming. Harden can’t just let that last three go. Way too competitive for that. It’s Bridges on the wing. [Applause] Charlotte shooting their seventh and eighth free throw attempts of the game. [Applause] Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] And he knocks down the first one. You know, one of the things that endeared Miles Bridges to his college coach was he was a superstar in talent, but played with a bluecollar mindset. Jones, he’s checked in for Los Angeles. Bogdanovich comes in for Kawhi Leonard. [Applause] Bridges hits them both. Clippers trail by 18. Don outside Jones. The pass to Collins. [Applause] Now here’s Harden. Check by Ston and stolen by Ston. Done with a steal. Outside Bdonovich. Pass to Harden. Outside Bdonovich [Applause] from outside the ark and the rebound goes to the Hornets. Miller on the wing defended by Bogdanovich. Miller outside. Six to shoot. [Applause] Jones with some nice D and so it’s Harden with it. He brings it up for the LA Clippers. They trail by 18. Baseline try. Miller pulls it in. Miller’s got four rebounds now. Here’s Bridges and it’s Bridges with the jam. That athletic ability gets Bridges to the rim there. He almost um totally shrugged off the defense. Clippers trail by 20. [Applause] Here’s Harden. He’s got nine. Pass to Collins. It’s tipped. Up top. Bridges. Defended by Dunn. Bridges passes to Sexton. Oh, stolen by Harden for the finish and then Harden with the jam. And you know, Harden’s exceptional Nick getting out on the break in transition. I mean, running exactly the right path and getting it done. Now, here’s Bridges. 10 points for him. Pass to Kipple. This one for three. The shot comes out. Clippers trail by 18 outside Harden. Done outside. Just five to shoot. Let’s go with a three. The Hornets pull it in. Bridges has got his sixth rebound on the night. Defended by Dunn. Pass to Bridges. He’s off on that one. Jones with some nice D. The Clippers shooting just 27% in the second quarter. Tipped. [Applause] Harden with it. 11 points in the game from deep three-point land. The rebound by Bridges. Bridges has got seven rebounds in the game. It’s Miller with a drive and he goes in for the dunk. And that’s how Miller can take his game to the next level by being aggressive and attacking the basket. They’re searching for a way to score. Yeah, buckets have been very tough to come by. Jones with a screen on Miller and he’s gone for the love and the dunk by Jones. Great teamwork and great timing. Oh, spectacular play and the crowd got their jaws dropped on that one. Total disbelief. Now here’s Ston pass to Canipple. Fires from deep and give him another one. He’s six of eight and looking solid. The defenses have to chase Canipple off the three-point line or he will just continue torching them from there. Just one second separating the shot clock and the game clock. [Applause] Now Harden Don outside the three ball. He can’t get it to go. So as we conclude the first half, a fairly one-sided game. Charlotte on top. opening up a huge gap. We’ll see you after halftime for the beginning of the third quarter. [Applause] And after a very lopsided first half. We’ll see if things play out a little more evenly in the second. [Applause] Charlotte leading by 21. Miller at the three with Bridges at the four. Ball is joined in the back court by Canipple and it’s Plumbley in at the five down low. So that’s the group out there for Charlotte. Back to Bridges. Deflected. [Applause] Now here’s Zubatz. Here’s Dunn. Harden from outside. Gets rebounded by Charlotte. Plumbley’s got four rebounds in the game. Bridges passes to Ball and he’s going to the line for two. The officials saw contact while he was going up. The D is fully aware of Ball’s threat to score. He took advantage of their anxiousness that time. These are his first free throws of the game. And guys, the numbers don’t lie. I mean, he was such a reliable presence at the free throw line all throughout last season. and he can’t get the first one. You know, with LaMelo, you really have a one-man offense. I mean, there’s not much he can’t do on this end of the court. [Applause] He hits the second from the line. And here’s Harden. [Applause] Oh, there’s the alley and it’s slammed in by Zubots. Love how aggressive Harden is in the pick and roll. Exceptional at shooting and passing after getting the screen. Pass to Plumbley. Ball outside. Up and overdone. And they’ll get another chance. Clock at six. Here’s Bridges. Collins with the rebound. And it’s Collins with the ball for the LA Clippers in the second half. They’ve only given up one basket coming on the free throw. [Applause] Don outside. Pass to Leonard. Stolen by Ball. on the take. There’s the three. It’s rebounded by Zubox. Zubox has got five rebounds tonight. [Applause] Leonard looking over the floor. Now Collins. [Applause] Miller pulls it in. Here’s Canipple. 18 points for him. Miller outside right wing. There’s Ball with a three. Hits the three-pointer. Ball’s gotten four this quarter. The young fella ball getting more and more comfortable from the corners. Done. The pass to Harden. Back to Dunn. Fires the three. The Hornets pull it in. Bridges has got nine rebounds now. Ball right side. Pass to Bridges. Back to ball. Clock at four. Shoots over Harden. Ball no good. He just missed it. He’s typically solid from mid-range. Boy, they need something to go to regain some confidence. No question. Way too many empty possessions for them. A moment to hear from Alli Leforce. Thanks. Well, the NBA keeping an open mind. Commissioner Adam Silver said, quote, “This is the only league that plays 48 minutes. I’m a fan of 10-minute quarters. A 2-hour format is more consistent with modern television habits, but it’s such a dramatic change. Something like that would have to be talked about over time, guys. Back to you.” All right, Ally, thanks for the report. Three-pointer fires in the triple. Ball’s got 10. The defense must honor Ball’s three-point shot. He’s more than ready to snipe away if you give him the opportunity to do so. Now, here’s Dun. Tight defense on him to end the run. Hornets with the rebound. Bridges with it. 12 points for him. That one drops for him. Bridges has got four points this quarter. Boy, look how easily Bridges shoots through the contact there. I mean, his mechanics are strong, as is his body. And the Clippers call time here. [Applause] [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Batum has checked in for Los Angeles. Bradley Beal comes in for Dunn. [Applause] The Clippers have gotten just one of five shots to drop since halftime. Leonard outside. Harden the pass to Beiel. Nice ball movement by Los Angeles. A nice shot by Zubots. Strong performance from him, but he may need to do even more if they’re going to win this game. Pass to Diabate. Ball outside and play stops. A whistle there on what looks like an illegal screen. One of the trickier plays to judge, but it would be hard to argue against the call. Yeah, you know, the officials aren’t nearly as lenient as they used to be on that call. As a matter of fact, I know I got away with a lot of those in my playing days, but that was 40 years ago. Los Angeles has gone 0 for two from outside here in the third. Beal against Smith. Beal shot is good. Beal’s got his first bucket in this one. His position might be shooting guard, but Beal has no problems taking it inside. [Applause] Smith with it. Guarded by Batum. Harden against ball and Kawi Leonard gets a whistle that time. That’s his third foul so far. And Charlotte making a change here. Man’s checked in and the switch here also for the Clippers. Lopez has checked in. Now Smith hasn’t gotten one to fall yet. Six to shoot. Pass to Diabate. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. And a look now at how the offensive approach has been going here so far for the Hornets. Well, you know, they’ve been tremendous, I think, when it comes to sharing the basketball. You know, getting guys involved on the plays and creating offensive opportunities for everybody. Equal opportunity offense is fun to watch. Yeah. The other thing they’re doing is absolutely scorching the net. Redot from outside all game long. He’s off on the first. and he sinks the second. And so it’s Beal who brings up the ball for Los Angeles. [Applause] Here’s Lopez. Pass to Harden. Back to Lopez. Yeah. Tried to thread it inside, but just too much congestion. Oh, rejected by Beal. Now here’s Lopez. Nice pass. Nice catch and a resounding dunk. And Batum throwing it down with ease. Charlotte’s gone two of three from outside so far in the third quarter. Plumbley passes to Smith. Shoots over Lopez again. The miss by the Hornets for Los Angeles. They’ve gone four of eight in the third. Pass to Beal. Jacks up a three. Yes. And a nice assist from Harden. Beals got five points in the quarter and this offensive surge is just what they needed right now. Yeah, it’s still a big hill to climb. I mean, it was essential that they at least made some kind of dent in that lead before we got to the fourth quarter. Now, here’s Smith. No made baskets yet. Six on the shot clock. Man pass to Diabate from deep. Smith no good. Los Angeles has gone only one of three from deep here in the third. Ooh, took him no time at all to get that one. Be’s got eight points. Well, they’re on the right path now, but still in a pretty big hole. That kind of deficit, I think they’re going about it the right way. I mean, they’ve got to get aggressive on defense. They need stops. And then you got to take care of the basketball at the other end so you get a good shot every trip. It’s his first trip to the line. [Applause] And he makes a first. Colin Sexton’s checked in for Charlotte. [Applause] Both good from the line that time. Clippers trail by 21. [Applause] Here’s Beal. Lopez. Great positioning on the put back. Yeah, bully balling his way to the rack that time. Lopez with a great second effort. And here’s Sexton. Pass to McNeely on the wingman. Fires for three. On target from range. He has seven. He knows he can get his shot anytime he wants. And he also knows he has the green light. Lopez is screen on Sexton. Here’s Beal. Yep, that one goes. Such a tough guard. I mean, Beal mixing it up inside, coming out on top in that battle. Ston against Beal. Ston passes to man. Back to Ston. Shot clock at six and down it goes. Jam that one home. You know, Sexton can be just so clever with the ball, disrupting the defense to create for his team. Pass to Lopez. Ston against Beal. Leonard for three. That one’s in there on the nice assist from Beal. Beal’s got six assists now in the game. [Music] Ston looking around. Here’s Man to the inside. Here’s Dioate. And he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. James Harden picks one. No debate there. He got hammered. Blatant contact. Straightforward call. Simple. [Applause] [Applause] and he drops a first. Bridges, he’s checked in for Plumbley. Jones, he’s checked in for the Clippers. [Applause] [Applause] and he can’t hit the second. Clippers trail by 20. Pass to Harden. Screen screen. Beal outside over Sexton. Beal. Shot is off. Charlotte leading by 20. And here’s Sexton. Hounded by Beal. Ston against Beal down low. Here’s Diabate. And that one is stuffed right through. A monster finish with authority. And he hangs on the rim for a little extra spice. Well, I guess there’s nothing wrong with a little bit of showboating here and there. Now here’s Beal. 10 points for him. Top of the key jumper. No good. Here’s Diabate defended by Harden. Bridges outside. Pass to McNeely. Now Ston the three rebounded by Kawhi Leonard. And you just can’t afford to give up that kind of look very often. And here’s Beal [Applause] Harden. The pass to Baton. Here’s Leonard. Checked by Ston. Nice ball movement by Los Angeles. Gets the three to fall. Be’s got 13 points now in the quarter. Be’s got such a fluid shooting motion. It really helps him on those catch and shoot opportunities. Bridges feel peeling it out a little bit. 105 left in the third quarter here. Outside man for three. Matum pulls it in. Clippers trail by 19. Outside for Harden. Three-pointer, no good. Charlotte has gone three of seven from deep so far in the third quarter. McNeely for three. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Outside Jones. Pass to Leonard. They grab their own miss. Harden from outside and that one goes. He’s now recorded his fifth bucket in eight tries. If the defense doesn’t slow Harden down, he’s going to continue to pile it on. Outside man, pass to Bridges. No good that time. And so it’s Charlotte with an impressive 16-point lead heading into the break. We hear teams talk about wanting to get the ball inside, but this is how you do it. And more NBA action on 2K Sports coming your way right after this. [Applause] And a moment now as we take a look at our State Farm assist of the game. And I’ll tell you what, this was a nobrainer tonight. Take a look at the precision on this feed. Couldn’t place it any better. Served him up a tasty room service dime right there, boy. And with the fourth quarter upon us, time is running out for this game to become competitive. And so in the game for Los Angeles, Kawawaii and Collins are the forwards. Chris Dunn is out there with Bradley Beal. And it’s Zubat in at the pivot spot manning the middle. Miller against Leonard. shoots over Miller. The rebound by Bridges. Bridges has got doubledigit rebounds now in the game. The kick out to Ball. Pass to Plumbley. Here’s Canipple. Bridges outside. Plumbley. A screen on Leonard. Here’s Bridges. It’s rebounded by Los Angeles. Leonard’s got four rebounds in the game. To the paint. Here’s Dunn. It’s good. And the assist that time from Leonard. Leonard’s got his fifth assist in this one. Just over a minute played here in the fourth. Inside. Slam dunk by Plumbley. Pretty smart play that time by Ball. Calling for a pick and roll to throw the defense off the center a little bit. Here’s Beal. Zubox with a screen on ball to the inside. He can’t get that one to fall. Good D by Plumbley to the middle. Knocks it loose and out of bounds. Los Angeles will have it. That was just a bad pass. There’s no other way to describe it. It happens, but that was bad. Here we go. And so it’s Beal who brings up the ball for the LA Clippers. A great fourth quarter. Just give it up two points. [Applause] Misses off the left iron. Hornets leading by 16. And Kawhi Leonard gets a whistle that time. That’ll be foul number five on him. [Applause] Pass to Plumbley. Now here’s Bridges. Miller outside. Plumbley. A screen. Six on the shot clock. Lets it go. Miller can’t get it to go. Probably not the shot they had in mind, but you can’t fault him. He had a clean look. for three. Collins and once again off the mark by Los Angeles. The Hornets have gotten just one shot to fall out of three attempts of the fourth. Pass to Bridges [Applause] to the right side. There’s Ball with a three. It’s rebounded by Zubots. Surprising to see him miss here, but they’ll be happy with that shot in most possessions. Kicks it out to Collins. And here’s Beal. And the rebound goes to Charlotte. Plumbley’s got nine rebounds now. Charlotte leading by 16. Here’s Canipple. Pass to Plumbley. Bridges outside. Launches a three. Bradley Beal puts it in. Well, the Clippers shooting only 40% from the floor in this game. Leonard outside, kicks it out to Collins. Leonard with the ball and Bridges picks him up defensively. [Applause] Don outside. Zubots screen. They still need this. Another shot and it’s good on the layup. That’ll drive your coach crazy, failing to box out. Those are free points you’re giving away. You got to work harder on the glass. And we’ve got a timeout called by Charles Lee. No doubt he’s going to utilize the opportunity to make sure they’re all on the same page here. All right, let’s check in with Alli Le Force. Over that last break, I got a chance to hear what Charles Lee said to the team. He told his guys, quote, “Do not get complacent. No coasting to the finish line here. Stay on the gas, keep the energy up, and close it out.” Coach doesn’t just want them to hang on to this lead. He wants them to extend it. Great work, Ally. Thanks. He gets it where he wants it and takes it up strong. Out to Bridges. There’s the triple. It’s good. And the assist that time from Ball and the Hornets lead by 15. I think he epitomizes the modernday stretch for Miles Bridges can hurt you from deep in addition to getting to the rack. Here’s Dunn. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. The officials were right on top of that one. Clearly a foul. I mean, didn’t give him any choice but to blow the whistle. I mean, you got to play without fouling. [Applause] Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] And the first one at the line is good. [Applause] [Applause] That one falls. So he hits both of them. Hornets leading by 13. Ball with it. Pass to Canipple. Bridges outside. Down to five on the shot clock. Puts it up from 15. No good. Off the front rim. Clippers trail by 13 and he lobbs it up and then it’s Collins with the dunk. Oh, a high flyer. Collins playing above the rim and then coming down with force. Pass to Miller. It’s stolen by Leonard. He’s all alone. Leonard in transition. And that’s what happens when you don’t take care of the ball. Hey, that makes the turnover hurt even more. What you you mean the throw down at the end? I’ll tell you what, fellas. I mean, the highlight shows are going to pain them even more. Canippo with a bucket. Yeah, he’s in his bag from beyond the arc right now. You see his confidence? Yeah, I’d be confident, too. As a matter of fact, I mean, if you’re stacking up threes the way he is, I mean, he’s doing all this work from behind the arc. Now, here’s six to shoot. lets it go from 14. Plumbley pulls down the board. Plumbley’s got rebound number 10 tonight with that last one. Pass the ball. Hey yo yo, right here. Right here. Here’s Canipple. It’s stolen by Leonard. Zubots with it. Picked up by Plumbley. Now Leonard. Nice ball movement by Los Angeles. Just five on the clock. Three-pointer. Beal. Yes. And it’s Leonard with the assist that time. Leonard’s got six assists now in the game. [Applause] Now ball. Bridges outside to the inside. Stolen by Collins. In transition. Here come the Clippers. Here’s Zubatz. Count that one. He’s eight for 10 from the field now. Charlotte leading by seven. Ball passes to Bridges. [Applause] Back to ball. Oh, deflected. Dunn attacking. Oh, there’s a killer two hand slam. Boy, you’ve got to like what you see from Dunn. I mean, very aggressive using that long wingspan to get himself to the rim. Ball outside. Now here’s Leonard. The D’s right on him. [Applause] Zubots inside. Started by Miller and it’s slammed in by Zubots. And when the game is this close, you have to go all out. He certainly understands his role, huh? When the shot goes up, just crashes the offensive glass. You know, that time I thought he did it with authority. Tremendous putback at a time when they really need it. Five to shoot. Bridget passes to Ball. Okay, Ball with the deep three. No hesitation there from Ball letting it fly from distance. And timeout called by Tyoo. He wants their game plan to be crystal clear at this point. And the Clippers making a change here. Harden’s checked in. [Applause] Here’s Zubatz outside. Harden. That one doesn’t drop. Nice D from Bridges. Hornets leading by six. Ball finds Bridges. Miller on the wing. Ball outside and there’s the lob and it’s Bridges with the jam. Perfect communication and timing on that alley. Bridges saw the opening and then bounced right to the rim outside. Leonard now Harden. [Applause] Shot clock at five. corner. Jacks up a three. Pass from downtown. Well, I really admire the determination with which Dunn plays. Staying confident in his shot at all times. Ball with it. He’s picked up by Zubots. Now here’s Dunn. Here’s Zubots. [Applause] Leonard [Applause] Kawide finishes inside. So good at the rim. Leonard doesn’t shy away from these moments, embracing his role as a leader for his team. Now Bull now Bridges. Clock at six. Zubac pulls it down. Clippers trail by three. Leonard. Here’s Collins. Leonard outside. [Applause] Rebounded by Miller. And here’s Miller. He’ll bring it up for Charlotte. Ball with it. He’s picked up by Zubox. Oh, off target from downtown. Los Angeles has gone two of three from beyond the arc here in the fourth. Leonard against Miller. Oh, he misses the layup. And here’s Charlotte now. three-point lead and it’s out of bounds. Last touch by Bridges. Unforced turnovers. They’ll drive your coach insane. And timeout called by Tailoo. And coach didn’t want to take any chances in this situation, which is why he called the to0. Given the situation here, what sort of strategy needs to be top of mind? And there’s enough time on the clock to go for a two for one. Leonard up top. Guarded by Miller. Harden. No good. Couldn’t tie it up. And I think we’ll see him milk the clock a bit. Yeah, seems like the heady move right now. I do not know if there’s a more confident family in the NBA. Ball wants the ball when it matters most. And timeout called by Tailoo. He is not messing around. Calling them into the huddle. [Applause] Leonard. It’s off. It’s clear he’s totally out of sync. The team needs to rethink its strategy around what to do with him. Oh, I really like how Dunn draws these fouls. He’s actually excellent at getting defenders to foul it. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] So, the first one drops and that shrinks the margin to just four. [Applause] That’s also good. So, he hits both free throws. Yeah, they desperately needed those free throws and he delivered. It’s down to a onep possession game and they committed an intentional foul. We’ll see another one of those. So they get into the penalty. Getting a little desperate at this stage. I mean, the clock’s the big factor. That’s a good foul, though. I like that. I mean, clock management crucial at this time of the game. It’s a three-point game. And so they choose to intentionally foul. good on the first and that gives him a four-point cushion. And so he drops them both and it’s a five-point game. Showing great confidence from the line that makes this a two-possession game. Outside Leonard Collins fires. Yes, sir. With the three. Good decision making. Scopes the situation. Puts the pass right on the mark. And an intentional foul there. Stops the clock. He drops the first one and that makes it a three-point lead. and he hits both free throws here and it’s a four-point ball game. That should about seal the deal. Showing the killer instinct. Shoots a three. And so it’s the Hornets who come out on top here. This one was in the balance right until the final seconds. NBA, they showed their character when it mattered most, sending those fans home happy. And that about wraps it up for Alli Leforce, Clark Kellogg, and Grant Hill. This is Brian Anderson thanking you for watching the NBA presented by 2K Sports. And as we leave you, here’s a look at our player of the game, Miles Bridges.
