Marlins vs. Nationals Game Highlights (9/2/25) | MLB Highlights
The nationals and the Marlins coming up. Game two of this three game series, Kane Cavalli is on the mound for the Nationals. The rider makes start number six since coming back off of his rehab here in his home ballpark. His two starts has not given up a run. Jacob Marzi that did well against him yesterday. Holding him to zero for four with two K swinging a fouled tip held on by Adams down goes Marcy on an elevated 98 mile per hour fastball off to a good start two up and two away and he swings one shallow center. Abrams the shortstop, drifting out, he settles under it and makes the catch and Kate Cavalli retires the side quickly. In the top of the first, we go to the bottom half and on the mound for the Miami Marlins making just his third start of the big league this year is right. Adam Major and 15.59 a most of his season at AAA Jacksonville drive base hit to right over the leaping first baseman Troy Johnston and James Wood back in the hit column with the first pitch leadoff single. What a force out 3 to 6. Abrams is the runner at first Josh Bell , former Marlin first baseman, there’s a swing and a miss got him with a slider for strike out of the ball game for Major in a scoreless game at the top of the second. It’s Otto Lopez who has seen the PSP a bit major league average right around 715 that shot into right field opposite field single for Otto Lopez. First hit of the ball game for Miami comes here in the second inning thanks to Otto, that’s back to back base hits against a hot shot single from Norby when he hit by a pitch and he loads the bases, two singles and a hit by pitch big moment right here for his grounds. One to third. Young has it to second for one, garcia all day to first for two , a double play. Cavalli pumps his fist and smacks his glove on the way back to the dugout. He gets out of a big time pickle after loading the bases, he gets a first pitch, double play. Nothing, nothing nationals in Miami in the bottom of the second with a major. The right facing the left hitting Dale Lyle flips one down the left field line coming in is hernandez. He’s going to get it Lyle with that speed easily into second with a leadoff double. Here’s Riley Adams, there’s one down the right field line. Will it stay fair? It will and it’s going to plate the first run of the game while and Adams will trade places in RB I double for the Nats catcher and the Nats for the second straight day. Take an early lead cut on and missed. That has been the weakness. The slider right on, right May Rs one off the plate away and Cruz chases and misses. Here’s Paul Young trying to get back on track breaks his background, one left side, the third baseman Norby picks up tries to tag Adams but lost the ball. What a break for the Nationals. All hands are safe and so that will be an error on Norby and Adams advances to third and the Young is aboard at first on the fielder’s choice and now Jacob Young going to try and make it hurt and he will young out to left center in the score is Adams, the Young will stop at second and it’s two nothing Washington pitch to woo that a hot shot R ball over the second X has got it flips to second for one on to first in time for the double play two nothing lead with Miami coming to bat and it’s in there strike three called fastball inside corner and Kane Cavalli has his second strikeout swing and a Messi struck him out with a changeup. So Cavalli two strikeouts in a row 2 to 0 nationals bottom of the third inning CJ Abrams leads it off swing and a drive to right center field but it drops in Raley first headed for second Abrams. He will make it easily with no one covering the bag shortstop hasn’t throw to first in time to get Bell one away as Abrams crosses to third. Now, two out runner at third with Lyle up in the hot bat in the first game and a half, Lyle swings in loops one into shallow left falls in for a base hit Abrams in to score the nationals lead 3 to 0. Lyle is two for two. A AA run scored and now his 24th RB I with that looping single to swing and a miss struck him out inning over but Nats get another run on a couple of hits and there’s one away Lopez, the shortstop coming up and he grounds one that’s going to sneak through the right side in the right field. Hicks is around second, headed towards third and he’s safe there and the Marlins have men at 1st and 3rd trailing by three here in the fourth with one out for Connor. Norby Lopez goes to second base and its 2nd and 3rd with one out here in the fourth and Norby flies one out towards the gap in right center field. Cruz is over. He’s not going to get there. Two runs are going to score and it’s an opposite field, two run single for Connor Norby. And now it’s a 32 game here in the fourth swing and a miss struck him out with a breaking ball in the inning is over. The Marlins get on the board. Fourth strikeout, Paul the young , the batter he reached and there’s a swing and a miss good fastball got him at 96. He’s got a nice little struck to him on the mound as well. Batters Jacob Young, it’s the young line to right, that’s going to fall in a base hit and Jacob Young is aboard two for two. Here’s James Wood, a single and a double play ball tonight. And the Nats have their three woods 27th of the season. RB I is 85 and 86 a two run homer for James Wood and it’s now the nationals five of the Marlins two through his first four innings on 61 pitches. Strikes out Mesa for the first out here in the fifth cade has his fifth K. There are two men at the top of the strike three called fastball 97 at the and Cavalli picks up strikeout number seven to end the inning pulling in for Cavalli top of the sixth Augustine Ramirez to lead it off against the lefty POA and the fastball is in there. Strike three called Ramirez is stunned, he might have a good argument pitched to be just above the zone, but it’s strike three beautiful change up down and away and two strikeouts for Poulan here in the sixth swing and a miss by Norby in an fastball. Poland strikes him out and three strikeouts in the inning. Bottom six we go had a major still out there for the fish. Pulls one on the, got past Norby at second. Cruz into second, shut it down there with a leadoff double one out a runner at second and now Hassell gets his first at bat drives one up the middle and through for a base hit Cruz had to head back to the bag on that initial read. So he’ll be held at third by Ricky Gutierrez. Runners 1st and 3rd 1 out for James Wood who’s two for three and into second with a steal is Robert Hassel the third swing and a miss a breaking ball for strike three and that’s the second out of the inning. CJ Abrams come to the plate now , two for four, there’s a shot to center field Marcy moving over. He calls makes the catch a pretty good job by major, especially in the last two innings to get out of some jams lead by three. The situation now top 82 free passes issued by Pilkington brings up Connor Norby as the potential tying run and brings Jackson out of the nationals bullpen. Norby swings and skies one to right should end the inning. Cruz drifting back now moves in a couple of steps waiting. Cruz makes the catch. Jackson Rutledge gets a big out to retire the side at the top of the eighth. Freddie Tarn second inning of work to 1237, two on with nobody out here. Bottom eight. There’s a swing and a miss and one away here in the eighth inning for freddie TNO. Strike three TNO gets hassle and here comes wood. He takes a called third strike change up at the knees. Freddie Tarnak, he got himself into a little bit of trouble with an air and a walk but he strikes out the next three, a three run advantage for the Nats as we go top nine looking to lock up a series win over the Fish. And here is Ferrer for the third time this year. He’s going back to, back to back days. 63rd game 49, a and the Nationals are out away from clinching a series win, locked him up and he went too far and the Nationals ramp up a 5 to 2 win over Miami Ferrer. The save Kate Cavalli his second big league win.

Tarnok had some pretty nice stuff on the mound, bats unfortunately went quiet though. π
Good win Nats
As a Marlins fan I must say, it was nice when we swept the Yankees and got back to .500, but I knew that was our peak for the year. Just hoping this young squad can get 75 wins or more. On a real note though, well done Scrappy Nats! James wood is a dog.
Triple A Vs Double A
Thank you Lord for giving us ALL the talents and abilities to perform for your Glory. Amen.

Thanks for the continuous update! Bitcoin is on its way to breaking records, getting closer to hitting new high prices, showing that it's gaining more value and could go even higher than we've seen before. I am super excited about how my crypto investment is going so far, making over $35,700k weekly is an amazing gain..βΊοΈ

Go Nats!
Rarely see such a good argument for lasers calling balls and strikes. This guy couldn't tell one from the other.
