And you figure, well, you’ve got show to him going. It’s 4 nothing. You should be in good shape. Not so fast there, Sparky, because in the fourth, Matt Olsen scores on a wild pitch. Azie Alb hits a home run. It’s a 4-2 game. In the fifth, Eli White homers to center field. It’s a 43 game. And now we’re going to see what the Cubs can get out of Imanaga. He ends up giving you six innings of three-run baseball. And then can their bullpen get the job done? Let’s get right into our Hooters winging winging it. Starting pitching matchup for the Braves. It was Wentz. Four innings, seven hits, four runs. They’re all earned eight Ks, one walk and allowed that three-run home run to Kyle Tucker. Showed it Imanaga picks up his ninth win against six defeats, six innings pitch, five hits, three runs there, earned two Kks a walk and two home runs. And then the story of the game for me is the bullpen. Pomearans gives you a scoreless inning. Thebar gives you a scoreless inning and then Daniel Palencia picks up his 22nd save. Not without a little bit of drama in the ninth inning as they got a Marcel Ozuna base hit. Next thing you know they’ve got first and third and they’re cooking and then Palencia gets the job done. fly ball to PCA who got the night off until the ninth inning came in for defense and it was a can of corn to shallow center field. He squeezes it. Ball game over. Cubs win. Player of the game, our apt player of the game, abt.com. Uh, I could go Kyle Tucker for the three-run home run. So, I think that’s what I’m going to do. The oppo three-run home run. I thought about giving it to the entire Cubs bullpen. Three guys that pitch, Pomeran’s, Theoboar, and Palencia. But we’re going to give it to Kyle Tucker, who had two hits on the night. He drove in three with that one big swing. And the Cubs find a way to win a baseball game. The Brewers had the day off. So, the Cubs pick up a half game in the standings. And they are now five games back of the Milwaukee Brewers who will resume their series with the Phillies on Wednesday when the Cubs will close out their series with the Atlanta Braves. So, a quality quality victory tonight. Let’s take a look at our Studio 41 look ahead now. They’re all super important, man. You’re into the month of September and tomorrow you’ve got to find a way to win the series. The Cubs have gone for sweeps so many times and we have not seen them consistently put people away. Tomorrow it’s Elder against Horton. It’s a really good pitching matchup. It is at 6:40 at Wrigley Field. Then you get a day off on Thursday. And then Friday, Saturday, and Sunday you get three games with the Washington Nationals in Chicago. Just wake up tomorrow and find a way to sweep the series. Find a way to win a baseball game. The Chicago Cubs won another 1-run game on a night the Milwaukee Brewers had off as they gained a half game and closed the lead to just 5 games. Kyle Tucker delivered the game’s big blast, a 3-run shot in a scoreless game to get the Cubs on the board. Shota Imanaga tossed his 6th consecutive quality start and the bullpen starred yet again. Daniel Palencia survived a shaky 9th to record his 22nd save. The win puts the Cubs in position to sweep the Braves on Wednesday before an off day on Thursday as the Nationals roll into Wrigley Field.

Losing that game against MIL SF and CO. Those are 3 wins. And a few more over the year. But they have not won 15 in a row. MIL has. Now the Cubs have to. And there is one on the calendar for them to worry about. Just start swinging in hitter's counts and quit hanging 0-2 sliders to lose ball games. Smarter hitting and smarter pitching. Then they have a shot to catch MIL>
