You would think after playing 10 games at AAA someone would be considered "rehabbed". Murph says that the positions he plays are covered at the moment. Personally, I think Vaughn's 15 minutes of fame is up. Having a 5'10" 1st basemen scares me as he isn't a big target or very mobile. His bat has cooled significantly. I th9ink it's time to bring Hoskins back.
Thoughts?

What a bizarre thing to say (edit: by Murph)
So we’re going to bring back someone out for nearly two months and shit can a player who’s been on a tear…
Good. It’s true. Hoskins can only play 1B or DH, and those are occupied. You could argue Bauers should go, but Bauers is a lefty and Vaughn and Hoskins are both righties. Furthermore, Bauers has the better plate discipline and doesn’t clog the bases as much as Hoskins when he gets on. Love Rhys, but there are limited spots on an MLB roster, and the Brewers have better alternatives.
No reason to even think of keeping Vaughn on the bench full time. You don’t luck into the stretch he’s had. One slump doesn’t change that.
Absolutely silly to keep Hoskins down in favor of Bauers though.
Interesting that they’d rather hit Bauers vs righties than Hoskins/Vaughn. Bauers just hasn’t proven he can hit at this level even in a platoon.
Keeping Seigler but not bringing up a healthy Hoskins is insanity.
Vaughn has cooled off I’m fine having Hoskins back and Vaughn off the bench
Hoskins needs to be on the roster. I don’t care if he’s pinch hitting. It’s insulting that Seigler and Bauers are on it over him, especially since it’s 28
guys now.
Yea, was just reading McCalvy’s mention of it too

So should we assume this comes down to versatility because Bauers can do more if not as well? It is just roster flexibility I assume.
Here’s what the crew are likely thinking.. should something happen to a corner player in the next 7 days like bauers, Vaughn, Collins, or gawd for bid Yelich then you have a pretty straightforward move to reactivate Hoskins. If we reach the 9th and nobody has gotten hurt, then Bauers was likely playing for his job. He’ll get a DFA but still likely be cool to hang around aaa once he clears waivers. Thus if Hoskins has a setback or another corner player gets hurt bauers comes back. Siegler is probably getting left off the playoff roster and you could theoretically see bauers, Hoskins, and Vaughn all on the roster. You ride the hot hand (Vaughn or Hoskins) and that leaves you a righty and lefty on the bench. I have mad respect for bauers that playoff home run last year was so clutch and deserved to be a lasting moment in team history but alas Williams blew a save.
This thread is a hilarious source of bad analysis
Haven’t seen a single comment about playing the field. Vaughns defense alone is such an upgrade over Hoskins that this alone should keep him playing over him.
Hoskins needs to be on the big league roster and splitting DH with Yelich with Yelich also rotating in the OF.
They want more time to evaluate which player they want down the stretch and into the postseason.
It’s a huge decision and it’s smart to gather as much data as possible.
I think Vaughn is actually better than Hoskins at this point.
Vaughn was bound to dip better now then in playoffs, while I think Rhys should be on playoff roster, Vaughn should still be taking ABs. We’ve seen what he can do. Perhaps Yeli in LF, Hosk 1B, nd Vaughn DH??
Pretty sure they have until the 5th to be post season eligible. There is no rush. Who do you send down right now?
I agree, this should be a Rhys/Vaughn platoon for the most part. Vaughn had his time ripping the league apart.
Here’s a fun stat:
Rhys Hoskins’ last hit: 7/5 (left game due to injury)
Jake Bauers’ last hit: 7/6
What are we doing? DFA Bauers. It’s not like anyone will pick him up.
I’m looking forward to Hoskins and Vaughn in the same lineup as 1B and DH vs lefties. It’s gonna be some good times.
