San Jose Sharks 2025-26 Season Preview
Good morning, afternoon, or evening from wherever you are. And we are up to the San Jose Sharks preview for the 202526 season. First Western Conference team. Let’s dive right into it. Been in a lengthy rebuild, have not made the postseason since 2019, but the way their fans and other NHL pundits talk about it, you’d think that they’ve been on the fringe every year. But apparently having like 20 win seasons constantly is something to be proud of because your prospects will magically turn into something great. You can ask Saber fans, did that work out well? No. 14 straight seasons of missing the playoffs. So, there has to be some blame. I don’t see too many Shark fans blaming their front office and especially GM Mike Greer for some reason. He’s not done a really good job and I think he’s gonna lead them into even more [ __ ] He’s just not sure what his game plan is. But people think they’re going to have a 10, even 15 point improvement. Hell the [ __ ] no. I I could see them having as few as 15 wins this season. They’re just really bad in a borderline AHL team. And I am not sorry to say that. So yeah, top six. I don’t give a [ __ ] Their only two good players are will celebrating. That’s it. Goodbye. But we’ll continue going through it. Tyler Tofoley, he used to be really good player but passes prime Wenberg at a few good flashes. Giovanni Smith and Adam Goddet. Yeah, not really that impressive but in the bottom six Jeff Skinner former Oiler now within Barkley Gudo who was really good for them in the 2019 playoffs especially when Vegas choked against them. So he’s back but he’s not the same player he he was when he was really young. Kersef, Grunstrom, Deandria Reeves. Yeah. No. And their coach, I forgot his last name. His first name is Ryan, but I’ll be like that little kindergarter calling their PE teacher coach. So, yeah. Coach, I bet besid if every one of the top six besides Ekquin and Cell Brady doesn’t do well, I don’t think you’ll have problems mixing and matching. Sorry. because it isn’t like any of these players are much worse than what we saw in the top six. As I said, this is a borderline AHL team. Their defense, yeah, it’s even worse. Faro has some promise though, but he’s still young. Lilligrin Orlov Orlov is a good solid veteran presence, but it’s past his prime, too. Clingberg, I don’t know who the [ __ ] this is and how to pronounce his name. than Lety. So yeah, they at some point might have to rely on some younger, more even more inexperienced defensive players if a lot of these veterans just [ __ ] the bed. They’re goalending Ascarov, the supposed goalie of the future. I mean, he had some good flashes last year, but it’s way too early in his career to see if he’s good. And I think playing on an abysmal tire fire like this might make him might slow down his growth and progress. We’ve seen this with goalies of the future from time and time again. So, but hey, according to him, he wants to learn and grow with this young team. I don’t know if that’s the best idea, but they’re entrusting him to be a starter now. Yorv dog [ __ ] is a UF bay and then Nulkovic will be their backup, but I think they’ll do a tandem sort of thing. But the way for Ascrov to learn fully is for him to play the bulk of the games, which modern day stat nerds won’t let that happen. And their MVP is Mack and Celrainy. Yeah, no question. You could have put Ecklland, but Mlin is their only hope for the future. And I know many people disagree with that, but looking at that roster, that’s the case right now. I didn’t have time to look through their other prospects, but what I’m looking at right now player last season 2050 and 12. I believe they’ll be under 20 wins this season. Goals for 2.54, which is 32nd, but goals allowed 3.78, which is also 32nd. I swear I had a few points this season they were allowing four or more goals a game but I guess Ascarov or stole them a few and as we’ll see Mackenzie Blackwood who is now thankfully saved his career by going to Colorado was really good for them 18.6% the power play is 26 oh they’re not last place in something miracle penalty kill 70 74.2% 2% another thing they’re not last place in another miracle which is 27 top five scores M celebrini 70 games played 25 goals 38 assists 63 points I expect him to get better as his career goes on especially if he somehow gets better line mates at some point in the future 77 games played 17 goals 41 assists 58 points to 78 games played 30 goals 24 assists 54 points Javanni Smith when Javon Smith is your fourth best scoreer that you know something’s [ __ ] wrong with your franchise at the moment. 74 games played, 18 goals, 27 assists, 45 points. And Fabian Zetterland, 64 games played, 17 goals, 19 assists, 36 points. Their goalending, they use five, but when you’re that crap of a team, you’ll probably scapegoat goalies from time to time. Vanichek at one point was their starter or 1 A1B with Blackwood. 29 games played in three and in three 3.88 goals against average and 82 save percent. He also had a 24-1 record with the Panthers. Anyways, story for a different time. Ascarov showed some promise at times and at other intervals. He was lit up by a Christmas tree. 13 games, 46-2, 3.1 goals against average and 896 save percentage, which on a team like the Sharks 895 or above looks elite. Gorgiev, they got him from Colorado via trade. 31 games played, 719 and four, 3.88 goals against average and 875 save percentage. A shitty goalender like Gorgiev, that’s where he belongs. Perfect. Almost giving up four a game. Blackwood elite stats. I mean [ __ ] elite on the Sharks. talking about 19 games played six 9 and3 three goals against average even which is very low and 9009 save percentage. Thank the [ __ ] lord he got out of there and Gorgi Romanov was technically their fourth string goalender so he was arguably worse than Gorgiev from what I watched. Eight games played 0 and six 3.89 89 goals against average and 877 save percentage which is better than Yorgiev but he looked way worse out there and imagine being a fourth string goalender on the worst team in like five years. Yeah, surprised he didn’t have like five goals against average eight games. So let me know if you think the Sharks are going to come out of their rebal anytime soon. I sure as hell don’t think so. I don’t want to sound like a broken record though. Like the video, share with at least 10 people. Subscribe if you haven’t and turn on notifications.
