NBA LIVE! Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns | September 2, 2025 | Warriors vs Suns | 2K26

Anderson. Also with us tonight, our reporter Ally Leforce, [Applause] Ally, it’s all yours. Thanks. Well, guys, Jaylen Green grew up in Fresno, California. In high school tournaments, he said, quote, “Nobody knew where Fresno was or how hard it is. They think it’s some nice little city, but really it’s not. It’s crazy out there, but my support system kept me from trouble and just locked in.” Brian, well, he stayed in the gym. Valley, thank you. This should be an active game. Two squads that really move the ball well and share the load offensively. Brent, well, we got some great playmakers out here, BA. So, it’s a multitude of guys who are going to be able to survey the floor, maybe make that back door play or that lob pass to the rim. That’s going to be a lot of fun. Let’s take a look at our starters for the Golden State Warriors. And for Phoenix, Green out there with Devin Booker. Then it’s Dylan Brooks. And it’s Williams in at the five and it’s the Suns to start out. Outside Booker pass to Brooks. Step back shot. That one doesn’t drop. and Golden State will come the other way. He may not be the strongest inside presence in the league, but still he’s got to convert from there. Got to love the effort there. And under size four who can really make things happen with that leaping ability. Now here’s Booker outside Green. Pass to Booker. Williams with it. Just five on the clock. Rebounded by Green. Now the Warriors with it. The shot. Oo, great D that time from Dunn. Probably not the shot that was drawn up for that possession, but you can’t pass it up and you can’t knock it down. Brooks outside and they’re going to count that bucket and they’ll send him to the line. It could be a three-point play. You know, that was an excellent play right there using his strength to power through contact. I mean, during his first playoffs, Dylan Brooks proved he was a big game player, pouring in 31 in his playoff debut, an upset win over Utah. One shot. The free throw dropped for Brooks. You know, talking about Dylan Brooks also great in those first ever playin games. Gray. Yeah, BA. I mean, the Grizzlies making the playoffs, winning two games. Brooks was outstanding in a win at Golden State, locking down the Warriors on the perimeter. He’s consistent from out there, especially when you give him that kind of room. The Suns have gone one for three so far. Pass to Brooks. Now here’s Booker beyond the ark. The shot no good. He didn’t make them pay for that weak defense, but they just can’t rely on him to miss those kind of shots. Green up top. Let’s go with a three. They get it back and he battles for the ball. Gets the second chance bucket. A hard work on the offensive glass. You can see the coaching staff rise up and clap for that effort. Kept alive. Out of bounds. It’ll go to the Warriors. [Music] Golden State has gone one or two from three-point land so far. The three from Curry. Rebounded by Dunn. Pass to Green. Here’s Booker. Here’s Dunn. Not going to go that time and it’s the Warriors taking it the other way. Uses the glass on the layup. That’s a great pass from Draymond Green. Just understands where his guys are going to be. And that streaking rack attack is the mobile one drive. Yeah. Taking the onus on himself to make something happen. Got it into the teeth of the defense and made them pay. Three-pointer Brooks and he can’t connect. He’s one for three in this game. The Warriors leading outside. Curry. Pass to Green. Pulls it. Rebounded by Green. Well, he finds some space in that in between gap there. Too bad he can’t release that one on target. Williams finds Booker. Brooks outside. Six on the shot clock now. Green. A shot to stop the drought. It’s not going to go for him. Green with the defensive effort. Perfect timing to rise up and challenge the shot inside. Yeah, not easy to do there. And that’s a guy that you can tell takes every possession defensively very seriously. Now here’s Booker. Well, quiet so far offensively, searching for his first points of the game. That shot is off. The Warriors have gone four of nine in this one so far. To the wing, right side, [Applause] banked it in off the glass. Feels like Jimmy Butler is getting better on how he finds the open teammates. Really elevating his playmaking skills. Boy, they’d love if anyone could get a bucket. Yeah, their offense has been grinding to a halt. Phoenix calls timeout. They’re just giving away a run right now. The question is, can they stop the tide? Hard to say right now. At this point, I’ve seen the coaches run through two or three iterations of defense. Is there a fourth? I’m not sure. Heat. Heat. Yes, it do. [Applause] Williams finds Booker. Brooks outside looking to win the run. Clean look from mid-range. coach will probably want to run that play again. After a tough decade for the Suns between 2010 and 2020, they are once again a team to be reckoned with in the NBA, bro. Oh man, the cache of talent that this roster has is tremendous. And this team really came together in a hurry and they’re going to be a force for the next few years to come. Some room here for Williams and the Suns miss again. The Warriors have gotten five of 11 shots to go and he got the whistle on the way up. So, he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. It’s going to be on Dylan Brooks. Felt like he was getting more and more hungry as he got closer to the rim. Jimmy Butler just tenacious there. And let’s take a moment to get your take, guys, on the scoring so far for the Warriors. They’ve done a great job establishing an inside presence. Now that’ll open up more options offensively throughout the remainder of the game. I love the passing that they displayed at the start of the game. Great ball movement that’s opening up some chances without really getting deep into the execution. [Applause] And that’s good as he hits both shots. Butler gives you so much toughness and determination. This guy can really impact what the culture of your team is all about. Pass to Booker. Back to Brooks. They get it again. Williams shot is good. But he seems to be in the right place at the right time more often than anybody that’s on the court here tonight. We see that pay off from the strike and he knocks the jumper down. Building a big advantage early with a terrific all-around performance. Well, if I was baking up a lead, I’d add two ingredients. One would be playing smart. The other one playing selfless. They’ve done that tonight. Serve it up. And it’s hammered home by Green. I would imagine it’s nearly impossible to not get fired up after that play. Grant, check these guys out on the bench. Their reaction says it all. They are fired up. Williams grabs the board. Phoenix has gone 0 for three from downtown. Brooks, the pass to Green left side. Williams. [Applause] Warriors with the rebound. And there’s a whistle. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. [Applause] He’s off on the first. Richards has checked in for the Suns. Allen comes in for Brooks. Moody’s checked in for the Warriors. Good on the second one. The Suns trailing. Phoenix calls timeout. Failing to find a rhythm offensively. Something that needs to change and change soon. Yeah, they’re like a 4-day old soda right now. Just flat. They’re missing shots left and right and just not playing their best. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Now Allan Outside Booker. [Applause] Here’s Richards. Phoenix no good that time either. Can’t blame him. Just trying to take what the defense allows. They’ve controlled the paint so far. That’s been the difference. Yeah, the bully ball tonight has paid dividends. Highly effective down there with the physical play. Now here’s Booker. Well, he hasn’t put up any points yet in this one. [Applause] Back to Allen. Five to shoot. Fires the three. Called in by Curry. And here are the Warriors now. They’re on an 18-7 run. Pass to Moody. Fires the three. Rebounded by Green. Allen on the wing outside. Green up top. Booker. Here’s Dunn. Rebounded by Green. Green’s got his fourth rebound in this one. Allen defending. Pass to Moody. into the lane. Oh, and he brings it down with a two-handed jam. Boy, I like their energy coming in. Terrific execution so far. Well, if there were four or five boxes to check in terms of the game plan tonight, they might have checked six. I mean, they’re doing everything out there. Now, here’s Green outside for Booker. Pass to Dun on the wing. Green shoots over Curry. Phoenix no good that time either. Allen defending. Here’s Moody. Three-pointer and the shots off. One for two in this one. And he probably thought he was going to bury that one. And he’s headed to the line for two. He gets the whistle there. Two shots. Foul two. Shooting two. That free throw misses. So, both teams making some changes here. And the second free throw is good. Boy, we’re seeing inspired play out of them and that’s certainly reflected in the score. Pass to Jay. Curry with it. The three ball. O’Neal pulls it in. Here’s Allen. Boy, he’s been patient so far. Nothing yet on the scoreboard. Here’s Goodwin. [Applause] Allen with it. launches it. The shot comes out and you just can’t afford to give up that kind of look very often. It’s good. And he drew contact on the shot. So, he will go to the line. A three-point play opportunity. and the free throw. No good. A minute 50 left to play in the first. And here’s Allen to the inside. Poke loose. that. Here’s He’s Moody. That one won’t fall. He’s one for three on the day. We’re not going to see that very often. The defense in the vicinity, but still he’s not one to blow layups. Pass to Allen. Here’s O’Neal. Now Allen. [Applause] Here’s Richards. And he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. First one falls for him. Both good from the line that time. 102 left in the first pass to Moody. Outside Curry. Little turnaround. The Suns clear it. Richards has got four rebounds now. [Applause] from the ark and the rebound goes to the Warriors. Curry with it from outside the ark. O’Neal pulls it in. The green light they gave him early should probably turn red. He needs to get others involved. And here are the Warriors now. They’re on a 20-7 run. And here’s Curry for three. And the Warriors get it back to the middle. Goes back up and he lays it up and in. Give him eight. Just a great show of Butler’s upper body strength right there as he plays through the contact. Pass to Richards. 18 ft out. Jimmy Butler getting it done for the Golden State Warriors. Eight points in the quarter showing how effective he can be. And don’t go far. We’ll be right back. Great to have you with us. Second quarter of basketball. This game has not exactly been neck and neck, but plenty of time left in this one. A very convincing performance from the Warriors so far. Well, you have to credit their effort on the defensive end. It set the tone for this contest. Yeah, defense has been infectious here as everybody stepping up aggressively on that end and the league has redefined the rules a bit regarding the gather step. Players getting more leeway. What do you think about that? Well, I think guys BA are getting a little more creative in practicing that. I mean, they they will adjust to the rule. That is one thing we’ve seen through the years with NBA players. And so in the offseason, if you can find a way to take advantage of a half a step more in order to gain advantage on a defender, I’m all for it until they change the rule back. They’ve got Dylan Brooks, Devin Booker out there with Green, and it’s Williams in at the pivot spot, manning the middle. So that’s the lineup on the floor for the Suns. Now here’s Booker. Boy, no scoring yet from him, but that’s likely to change. Williams misses and the Warriors shooting just 38%. Their offense not where they want to be. Offensive rebound and it’s heel missing on the wing. Brooks outside. Booker pass to Green. Brooks outside. And here’s Dunn. Now here’s Brooks over healed. Can’t connect making him one for six from the field. Curry again. It’s Green to the inside. A shot from the mid-range. The shot no good. And Phoenix the other way now. Here’s Brooks and down it goes. Jam that one home. Booker’s allaround game is really coming together. Nice play there. Pass to heel [Applause] up and over Brooks and misses it off the right side of the rim. Green in the post. He’s covered by Curry. So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. Boy, you look at Jaylen Green. All the tools to be a star. It may take some time. Now, growing up, he was always the most talented, but he is a gym rat and a worker, a grinder. So, I bet on him to reach his full potential soon. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. Free throw good. Green. [Applause] So he hits one of two from the strike. The Warriors have got nothing to go in this quarter. They’re 0 for five. [Applause] Brooks defending outside. Curry. Tries it from the top of the key. Rebounded by Green. Green’s got a rebound number five here tonight. Brooks outside. There’s the triple. Misses again. Two for eight in this matchup. Brooks defending outside. Green up and over. Done. And that one hits the back iron. The Suns have gotten only one of four shots to go in. Here’s Brooks. No good there. That would have cut it to single digits. Golden State has gone 0 for two from outside in this second quarter. Pass to Curry. The three is up and it’s in. Only two for nine though. That’s a go-to shot for Stephen Curry. Ready to shoot as soon as that ball touched his fingertips. done right side and that’s a foul called on Stephen Curry. That’s foul number two for him. And just over three and a half minutes played here in the second quarter. Pass to Booker. And here’s Dunn. Green covering. This is why Draymond’s one of the top defenders in the league and right now getting under the skin of the opposing offense. No good. And here are the Suns in the second quarter. They’ve given up just three points. Looking to get it going. And it’s Brooks missing. Golden State has gone one for three from downtown here in the second. Tries again and the layup is good. He’s got nine. Like a matador. Olay. There was no defense. That has to be one of the easier shots I’ve seen tonight. Yeah, feels like Christmas right now. Just gift wrapping points. Now here’s Dunn. Well, he hasn’t scored yet, but I’m sure that’ll change. Just five to shoot. inside. And there’s the whistle. The illegal screen is the call. The screener was leaning a bit right there. His feet may not have been planted. Pretty obvious call by the officials. Got to hold firm or or you’re going to get a call. Smooth sailing for Golden State. 16-point lead, the largest margin in the game. And here’s Curry for three. And the Warriors get it back. [Applause] Federer on the way. Rebounded by Dunn. Dun’s got six rebounds in the game. Back to Booker. Brooks outside. Hey, if you can’t block it, sending him to the line can be the next best thing. [Applause] shooting two. No good on the free throw. [Applause] That’s off as well. So he misses both. That’s a strange trip because typically he’s pretty much money from there. A chance here to catch up with Ally from the sideline. Well guys, the NBA expanding its footprint through video games. Commissioner Adam Silver said, quote, “There’s an opportunity to capture a new kind of fan who isn’t currently watching our games, but enjoys playing NBA 2K. By learning about the players and the teams, they’re more likely to engage in the live product.” Brian, yeah, it goes hand in hand, Ally. Thanks. Phoenix calls timeout. They’re giving up a lot of points in the paint. That’s something they have to address here. Yeah, coach knows that. They know that. In the timeout, they’re going to hear about it. Make the adjustment. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Now here’s Green down low. Stolen. Oh, and a fast break for the Warriors. And the basket by Curry. Curry’s got seven now in this quarter. Love the old school finger roll. It’s just a graceful move. Going all in. That was the 2K drive. Well worth a second look. With the lead they have. You might think they’d start to settle, but they are still going at the rim strong. Brooks. The pass to Williams. Green for three. And the Suns miss again. Golden State has gone one to four from three-point land here in the second. Back to Curry. And it’s Phoenix with the rebound. Here’s Green. Done. Right side. Brooks outside. Five on the clock. trying to get back on track. The shot won’t fall. I mean, he’s trying to shoot his way out of what’s becoming a prolonged cold streak. Yeah, he’s got to move on. Forget about this sequence here and and try to find a way to get on the board. Not himself from range right now, but the only way out of this funk is to keep trying. His playmaking is something to watch. Threading that pass right in there. [Music] Williams defending. Lets the three fly. Second chance effort. That one’s wide left. Pretty lax defense there. He’s going to see fewer and fewer chances if he can’t bury those kind of jumpers. They retain possession and the Warriors miss again. Phoenix has gone 0 for two from outside in the second quarter. Here’s Booker tries it from 16 and the Warriors shooting a low 31%. Their offense is lacking with the teardrop. It’s hauled in by the Suns. Dun’s got rebound number eight here already in the game. Brooks outside. Pass to Dun over Green. The shot by Dunn. No good. Dun’s gone just one of five from the floor. Left side. Curry up and over Brooks. They get the rebound. And terrific work on the offensive glass as he picks up the deuce. He’s got 11. And that’s a back breaker for the defense. I mean, offensive boards like that run momentum against you. Yeah, that pops your confident balloon out there. Just completely deflating when plays like that happen. 11 ft out. Phoenix grabs the miss. Dun’s got nine rebounds now. Brooks outside. Pass to Green. Back to Brooks. Here’s Williams. Rebounded by Green. Now the Warriors with it. They’re on an 11-2 run. Williams grabs the board. Boy, they need something to go to regain some confidence. No question. And way too many empty possessions for them. Back to Green. [Applause] Brooks outside and the Suns miss again. And not a way to get out of a funk. He needs to be looking for good, solid, more efficient shots. Not the wild one he took there. outside. Curry takes a three. Rebounded by Dunn. Dunn’s got 10 rebounds here tonight. So, oh, active [Applause] to the paint. Here’s Booker. Good setup. Led him to the rack perfectly for the layup. Booker’s got his first basket. Devin Booker will score by any means necessary. And that time over decent defense getting the contact and the Warriors call time here. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. and it’s a completely new group for the Suns. [Applause] It’s a minute 26 left in the half and too long on the shot. He wanted to keep that shot from getting blocked, but in the process he gave it no chance of going in because of how unbalanced he was on the fade. Pass to Jay. Fires for three. Offensive rebound. Here’s Moody. And that one goes in as he’s fouled. It’ll be three points if he converts the free throw. [Applause] Phoenix has gone 0 for three from deep to begin the second. Pass to Allen. There’s 49 seconds left in the first half. Now the Warriors with it. They’re on a 14-4 run. Gets an open look and hits it. And just executing at a high level. I mean, taking what the defense allows and putting in the work. Basketball IQ is something that gets talked about, but it’s importance to a team showing up here running plays that turn into scores. Here’s Goodwin. Phoenix no good that time either. And just because he might not be as big as some of the other guys that are on the floor, it doesn’t dissuade him from getting in there and playing fearlessly on the glass. [Applause] Basket counts. 10 points for him. And Butler with the ball up in the air just sniffs that one out. He goes in and rips it down [Applause] and stolen by Green. He got it off in time. Unable to get that one. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors up 25 big ones as we head into the next period. Defense is setting the tone. Time for a quick break, then back to the action. And now, the 2K Sports Halftime Show. Hey, welcome back. The first half mercifully coming to a close. I’m Ernie Johnson. Kenny’s here. Shaq is here. So, it’s Golden State who’s out on top at the half. They are completely in control of the game, leading by a massive amount. Kenny, how’ you see it? Their effort on the glass is absolutely key to setting the tone. They wanted to send a message with their physicality and they wanted to dominate on both ends. A really terrific performance thus far. And Shaq, what’ you think about Phoenix? And they were gutting a little too much from downtown. Uh they can’t afford to become dependent on that shot. They got to compete the consistent way. I’d like to see him mix it up more in the second half. Thanks for joining us, folks. We’re now just a few minutes away from the start of the third quarter. And after a very lopsided first half, we’ll see if things play out a little more evenly in the second. And it’s the Warriors with the ball. Kicking off the second half. Here’s Steve Kur five. Green against Curry and so he draws the foul headed to the line to shoot a pair. You look how Jimmy Butler stays committed on that play, ready to overcome the defender and still take the shot. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] And he can’t get the first one. [Applause] [Applause] and he sinks the second. [Music] Now done outside Green. Here’s Brooks. Jimmy Butler with a rebound in transition. Here come the Warriors. The three from Curry. That one no good. Some solid defense from Williams. Green against Curry. Pass to Dun. It’s stolen by Curry. What was that? The three is up. Second shot opportunity. The basket drops. Anthony gets fouled on the shot. One free throw coming his way. A great move. I mean, the defense has no response. Well, just ripping through right there as he he finds the open spot and gets right through there. High basketball IQ play. One shot. [Applause] Second half rolling along. About a minute played here. Outside. Booker. Back to Green. Shoots over Curry. And it’s Green missing. Golden State has gone 0 for two from outside here in the third over Booker and it’s Green missing. Green’s gone just one of five shooting from the floor. Booker tipped. [Applause] Here’s an eight-footer and he hits the jumper for two. He’s got 16. The scoring is coming easy for him. Got to keep the ball in his hands for three and it’s cleared by Stephen Curry. The Warriors have got just two of six in the second half. Already a terrific career for Booker. threetime allstar and then last year he was named to the allNBA first team. Just a big honor. The Suns have gone 0 for four. Not the way they want to start the second half. Curry against Green. Clock at six. Fades away. It’s wide right. Hits off the rim. And with Booker, it’s not just the scoring, Grant. He does a little bit of everything. Hey, BA. I mean, you go back and look at last season, he had careerhighs in rebounds, steals, blocks. I mean, he’s learned how to affect the game. Even when his shot isn’t falling, which is rare, drains the triple. Want to be an all-star guard like Devin Booker? You might want to start hitting your share of triples. [Applause] Brooks defending pass to Green from deep. Knocks it down from distance. And both teams running long range plays that are working well. Both of them looking towards the three-point line. And I like to see that especially when the results are made buckets and it’s out of bounds. They say it was last touch by Brooks and you got to be in awe of incredible defensive efforts like this. Showing no signs of giving up this lead, that block sent shock waves into the opposition sails. Just under three and 1/2 minutes played here in the third quarter. The offensive rebound and that one’s good. Green. More of an instinctual play right there from Draymond. Just anticipated that. He knows where that miss is going. Look, his guys don’t miss much, but he gets the ones they do. Now here’s Brooks. He’s got five and no good. Booker defending. It falls again. He’s now eight for 12 from the floor. Well, he’s too good a finisher to blow that kind of chance. But that’s going to be a wakeup call to the defense. That was another look at our Mobile One drive of the game just a moment ago. And this is exactly what you love to see. Up big, not letting up, keep on applying pressure to their defense. Now here’s Brooks. Pass to Green. Oh, can they get it? Phoenix no good that time either. Golden State has gone one of four here in the third from range. The three from Curry and it’s Phoenix with the rebound outside. Booker from the line. That one is off. And it’s the Warriors taking it the other way. Oh, a clear foul there on the missed shot. So, he’ll get a pair at the line and an important part of every team’s game. A look at the hustle stats for the Warriors. Well, they did a tremendous job keeping guys fresh. Their aggressiveness took over showcased by their points off the fast break. Their attacking of the offensive glass has also been a success story. All game long. They’ve been committed to finding those second chance opportunities. The first one falls. Heels checked in for Draymond Green. That one’s no good. Every trip up the floor gets more and more important. Yes, indeed. They badly want to stop the bleeding here. And the foul on the shot. So, he’ll take two from the free throw line. And the first one at the line is good. That’s also good. So, he hits both free throws. Golden State has gone just one of five from three-point range here in the third quarter. Pass to Curry from downtown. Williams grabs the board. Williams has got 12 rebounds here tonight. Big time effort. Green against Curry. Now here’s Green guarded closely and it’s Jimmy Butler with the foul. That’s foul number two for him. And the Warriors making a change here. Pass to Booker. And here’s Dunn. Three-pointer. And again, it’s a Suns missing. Curry against Brooks. The shot misses. Now the Suns take it the other way. And the officials will call the illegal screen here. You can get away with one once in a while, but it looked like he wasn’t completely set on that pick. Yeah, a quick little lean like that is going to get the ref’s attention. Foul called. Richards has checked in for the Suns. And the Warriors with possession. They’re on a 14-5 run. Tries to break his ice. Curry no good. And it’s Phoenix’s ball. Left side. Green. Pass to Williams. Shoots over Curry. And again, it’s the Suns missing. The Warriors shooting only 31% in the game. Outside heel. Now here’s Curry. Shot clock at five. Good. Brooks defending. Good work defensively by Brooks. Phoenix has gone just one of five from three-point range here in the third quarter. Back to Booker. Pass to Richards. [Applause] Oh, poked away down low. Right side, Green. Soft touch off the glass. Green’s got five now. He’s a go-to guy for them because he’s that consistent. Time and time again, he delivers. Right side healed on the wing. Curry pass to Heel. Shoots over Booker. And again, no good by Golden State. Seriously. Now here’s Curry. Green covering. Back to Curry. Oh, they need this. And it’s Phoenix with the rebound. Green’s got the glass covered here tonight. That’s 11 boards for him. Brooks finds Booker inside. Here’s Williams. Gets rebounded by Golden State. Pass to Heel. Here’s Curry. Booker defending back to Curry from behind the ark. The shot that time not on target. So Phoenix will take it the other way. Outside Green. Here’s Richards. He’s covered by Curry to the middle. Here’s Booker. Can’t cash in the 10-footer. Well, the Warriors shooting a rough 29% from the field here. The tear drop and it’s Devin Booker with a rebound. Booker’s got his sixth rebound on the night. Pass to Green. Here’s Richards and that comes off the assist by Green. Richards has got five now. Now there’s some easy offense there. Keep finding looks in that area and their shooting percentages tonight are going to be off the charts. Timeout called the Warriors and the other team is running all over them right now. The timeout before the timeout here maybe just to cut off the momentum and have a chitchat with the team to settle down. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Hello. Here’s Moody. Allen defending. Here’s Moody. Five points in the game. shooting two. [Applause] And he knocks down the first one. [Applause] [Applause] and good on the second. So he makes them both. Phoenix has gone just one of five from three-point range here in the third quarter. Pass to Goodwin. Here’s O’Neal. Here’s Goodwin. Still getting warmed up offensively. No buckets yet in the game from him. Just three to shoot over Curry. That one a little long. He just couldn’t finish the job that time. And too bad because it was a nice look. And here’s healed. A minute 35 left in the third quarter. Moody from outside. And the three-pointer goes. Moody’s got 10 points in the game. That’s pretty much not how they want to defend the three-point line. Somebody’s got to shadow him out there. Suns keep it alive. And he gets that one. Richards has gotten four this quarter. A stronger defensive presence would have saved them two points. It didn’t seem like anybody was really aware there to go and collect that rebound in the possession. Now here’s Heel to the inside and it’s going to be a 3second call and the Warriors making a change here. Green has checked in. 55 seconds left to play in the third. Here’s Goodwin. There’s the three. The rebound by Jay. The Warriors shooting a less than average 27% in the third quarter. Heel for three. Richards pulls it in. Richards has got his seventh rebound of the game of that last one. 3se second difference between the shot clock and the game clock. Great job setting him up. The timing of the pass was key. Looking to get back on track. It’s hauled in by the Suns. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. It’s going to go on Draymond Green. Everyone in the building saw the obvious contact. Two shots. Relax on the first. And he makes a first. No good on the second. So he hits one of two. Gets it to go from the corner. He’s got nine. Well, this guy Jimmy Butler not showing that he’s a ball stopper. Awareness finds the open man. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors with an almost surefire victory here up 32 at the end of the quarter and dominating. They’re communicating well and stringing together stops. All right, stick around. We’ll be right back after this. And one quarter to go in a game that to this point has not been an evenly fought contest. So it’s Phoenix now. Royce O’Neal is out there with Nick Richards. Then there’s Grayson Allen and it’s Goodwin in at point guard. So that’s the lineup on the floor for the Suns. No good that time. So Golden State will take it the other way. Kicks it out to Collins. Back to Green and the shot goes. Oh, Draymond Green with only one thing on his mind when he gets that close, and that’s collecting two points. Pass to Allen. Here’s Goodwin. Here’s O’Neal. Green covering. O’Neal inside. Can’t connect from short range. The Warriors shooting only 31% in the game. [Applause] the three. They grab their own miss. Moody from outside and it’s Phoenix’s ball. Pass to Allen and they call an illegal screen here. You’re not going to fool the officials too often on an illegal screen. Yeah, everybody saw that one. That was pretty blatant there. And the Warriors making a switch here. [Applause] The Warriors have gotten just one shot to fall out of three attempts in the fourth. Pass to Moody. Here’s Jay. We’re just over a minute and a half now into the fourth. And let’s face it, they won’t get back in the game with fouls like that. Here’s Jay. Five to shoot. Here’s Collins. Oh, the teardrop falls in. Showing off with the floater game. Not a shot you can swat. And no lack of aggression on that move. Good for the 2K drive. Moving along. Two minutes gone in the fourth. Pass to Richards. Inside Warriors with the rebound. That is a rarity. When he takes flight, he usually hammers it home. Here’s Moody. Back to Collins. [Applause] Deflected. [Applause] And off the left side of the rim, it swirls in for him. Where was the D on that one? Just too easy. Golden State has gone 0 for two from outside here in the fourth quarter. Fourth quarter keeps moving along. Three minutes gone by now. Lets it go. Collins with another miss. Collins has gone one of three shooting so far. Allen with it. Pass a good one. Six to shoot. All alone. Suns keep it alive. That’s been the difference tonight. They’ve been insanely disruptive on the glass. Here’s O’Neal from deep three-point range. No good on the shot. The Warriors have gotten only two of six attempt. The drop in the fourth. Collins outside. Here’s Jay. Three-pointer off the mark. The Suns have got one out of six shots to fall in this final quarter. Not ideal. Probably not the shot they had in mind, but you can’t fault him. He had a clean look. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. And he almost made them regret defending him so loosely. Here’s Goodwin. The rebound by Jay. The Warriors shooting poorly. Just 30% so far. Here’s Moody. [Applause] The Suns clear it. O’Neal’s got six rebounds now in the game passed a good one. And here’s Allen. Here’s Goodwin. And they forced the shot clock violation. Great D. Heels checked in for the Warriors. And so it’s Golden State with it. A great fourth quarter. Just get give it up two points. Back to Collins. Clock at six. Here’s Jay. Goes up and lays it in nice and easy. And there he is. I mean, attacking the boards, converting off the misses. I mean, trying to do everything he can to secure this W. I just don’t see how you climb back into the game when you’re allowing plays like that to happen. Extra work on the offensive glass. Martin inside guarded by Heel. Martin misses. That’s the only kind of defense that’s going to cut the mustard here tonight. You got to stay on top of a guy like that who can play at such a high level offensively. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. First free throw is good. Buddy Heel just has such an incredibly quick trigger. [Applause] That one falls. So he hits both of them and it’s Phoenix’s ball. They’ve given up just eight points in the fourth. [Applause] Martin outside. [Applause] Down to five on the shot clock. Parked it down low that time. Got hit with the 3second call. You have to limit mistakes. They’re so tough to overcome. Well, not making things easier on themselves right now, that’s for sure. Here’s Row. Pass to Jay. He’ll ball. Now here’s Collins. That shot missing. Now the Suns take it the other way. He didn’t have his feet planted. And they’ve been careless with the ball tonight. Yeah, it’s a lack of focus and a lack of discipline. They’re better than this. Oh, they get a hand on it. Oh, and a fast break for the Warriors. Healed from outside. He can’t get that one to fall. [Applause] [Music] The Warriors pull it in. Not a bad shot from the mid-range. The D’s giving it to him and he’s usually got an eye in that kind of range. It’s good on the put back. Real smooth, guys. Great job with the tip in. Those are the kind of plays on the offensive glass that can tell you a lot about a player. Shot clock at six. looking to end the drought. Ro grabs the board. Hard to convert against that kind of defensive pressure. Those are all the little things about effort there. He just gets out there and contests and that’s just enough. Oh, take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] Free throw is good from Collins. [Applause] He’s off on the second. Here’s Goodwin. [Applause] down low. Hey, hangs it midair and converts the double clutch layup. You saw he altered his release allowing him to get around his defender and then laid it in. And the call is going to be yes, an illegal screen. You’re not going to fool the officials too often on an illegal screen. Yeah, everybody saw that one. That was pretty blatant there. The Warriors shooting at 31% here in this fourth quarter. Collins outside and it’s Phoenix with the rebound. Here’s Goodwin. Pass to Martin. [Applause] Stripped it away. Here’s Row. Collins outside, fires from deep, sinks it from distance. And let’s face it, when you’re down this many points, you simply can’t let him get that good of a look. Teachable moment there. Lapses like this are back breakers. Pass to Goodwin to the paint. Here’s Martin. Misses and the dry spell continues. The other team just looks more in sync and is riding the momentum. Well, the other team is scorching hot and they come down on this end and can’t find a way to get the embers going. Six on the shot clock. [Applause] No good. Tight defense there. bothered that shot. The layup off target. Golden State has gone just one of six from down in this final quarter. Pass to Row. [Applause] And it’s good with time running down on the shot clock. And let’s face it, this one was never really in question. They came out with purpose and just overwhelmed the opposition. A great win for the Warriors. And the disparity in the talent was obvious by the end. Sometimes you just don’t have enough ammunition to compete. Yeah, BA. Just a total beatd down. And the next time these teams meet, I can’t imagine it’ll be any different. Good. No good. Maybe a little false confidence there. Not a high percentage shot for him. Coaches will tell you that’s a bad shot, but when your teammates tell you that, you probably got to think about it. Pass to Collins. He tries for three and it’s Phoenix with the rebound. [Applause] Now 5 seconds separating the shot clock and the game clock. Here’s Goodwin. Martin outside the shot to stop the run. Oh, plenty of contact on that shot. Officials call the foul and he’ll take two free throws now. and he drops a first. Good on both. [Applause] Collins outside. Alongside Grant Hill and Brent Barry, I’m Brian Anderson. Also with us tonight, our reporter Ally Leforce, Ally, it’s all yours. Thanks. Well, guys, Dylan Green grew up in Fresno, California. In high school tournaments, he said, quote, “Nobody knew where Fresno was or how hard it is. They think it’s some nice little city, but really it’s not. It’s crazy out there, but my support system kept me from trouble and just locked in. Brian, well, he stayed in the gym. Ally, thank you. Then it’s Dylan Brooks and it’s Williams in at the five. And it’s the Suns to start out outside Booker. Pass to Brooks. Step back shot. That one doesn’t drop. And Golden State will come the other way. He may not be the strongest inside presence in the league, but still he’s got to convert from there. Got to love the effort there. An under size four who can really make things happen with that leaping ability. Now here’s Booker outside. Green pass to Booker. You know, that was an excellent play right there, using his strength to power through contact. I mean, during his first playoffs, Dylan Brooks proved he was a big game player, pouring in 31 in his playoff debut, an upset win over Utah. One shot. The free throw dropped for Brooks. You know, talking about Dylan Brooks, also great in those first ever playin games. Greg. Yeah, BA. I mean, the Grizzlies making the playoffs, winning two games. Brooks was outstanding in a win at Golden State, locking down the Warriors on the perimeter. He’s consistent from out there, especially when you give them that kind of room. The Suns have gone one for three so far. Pass to Brooks. Now here’s Booker beyond the ark. The shot no good. He didn’t make them pay for that weak defense. But they just can’t rely on him to miss those kind of shots. Green up top. Let’s go with a three. They get it back and he battles for the ball. gets the second chance bucket. A hard work on the offensive glass. You can see the coaching staff rise up and clap for that effort. Kept alive. Out of bounds. It’ll go to the Warriors. [Music] Golden State has gone one of two from three-point land and so far the three from Curry rebounded by Dunn. Pass to Green. Here’s Booker. Here’s Dunn. Not going to go that time. And it’s the Warriors taking it the other way. The Warriors leading. Outside Curry. Now here’s Booker now. quiet so far offensively, searching for his first points of the game. That shot is off. The Warriors have gone four of nine in this one so far to the wing right side. [Applause] Banked it in off the glass. Heat. Heat. Get it. Get it. They’ve done a great job of establishing an inside presence. Now, that’ll open up more options offensively throughout the remainder of the game. He seems to be in the right place at the right time more often than anybody that’s on the court here tonight. We see that pay off from the strike and he knocks the jumper down. Building a big advantage early with a terrific allaround performance. I am not [Applause] there. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Now Allen outside Booker. [Applause] Here’s Richards. Phoenix no good that time either. Can’t blame him. Just trying to take what the defense allows. They’ve controlled the paint so far. That’s been the difference. Yeah, the bully ball tonight has paid dividends. highly effective down there with the physical play. Now, here’s Booker. Well, he hasn’t put up any points yet in this one. [Applause] Back to Allen. Five to shoot. Fires the three. Called in by Curry. And here are the Warriors now. They’re on an 18-7 run. Pass to Moody. Fires the three. Rebounded by Green. Allen on the wing. Outside. Green up top. Booker. Here’s Dunn. Rebounded by Green. Green’s got his fourth rebound in this one. Allen defending pass to Moody into the lane. Pass to Dunn on the wing. The shot comes out. And you just can’t afford to give up that kind of look very often. It’s good. And he drew contact on the shot. So, he will go to the line. A three-point play opportunity. And the free throw. No good. A minute 50 left to play in the first. And here’s Allen to the inside. Poke loose. Here’s Hee. Here’s Moody. 102 left in the first. Pass to Moody. Outside Curry. Little turnaround. The Suns clear it. Richards has got four rebounds now [Applause] from the ark. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. Eight points in the quarter, showing how effective he can be. And don’t go far. We’ll We’ll be right back. Great to have you with us. Second quarter of basketball. This game has not exactly been neck and neck, but plenty of time left in this one. A very convincing performance from the Warriors so far. Well, you have to credit their effort on the defensive end. It set the tone for this contest. Yeah, defense has been infectious here as everybody stepping up aggressively on that end. And the league has redefined the rules a bit regarding the gather step. Players getting more leeway. What do you think about that? Well, I think guys BA are getting a little more creative in practicing that and they they will adjust to the rule. That is one thing we’ve seen through the years with NBA players. And so in the off season, if you can find a way to take advantage of a half a step more in order to gain advantage on a defender, I’m all for it until they change the rule back. They’ve got Dylan Brooks, Devin Booker out there with Green and it’s Williams in at the pivot spot manning the middle. So that’s the lineup on the floor for the Suns. Now here’s Booker. Boy, no scoring yet from him, but that’s likely to change. Williams misses and the Warriors shooting just 38%. Their offense not where they want to be. Offensive rebound and it’s healed. Missing on the wing. Brooks outside. Booker pass to Green. Brooks outside. And here’s Dunn. Now here’s Brooks over healed. Can’t connect. Making him one for six from the field. Curry against it’s Green to the inside. The shot from the mid-range. The shot no good. And Phoenix the other way now. Here’s Brooks and down it goes. Jam that one home. Booker’s allaround game is really coming together. Nice play there. Pass to Heel. [Applause] Up and over Brooks and misses it off the right side of the rim. Two shots. [Applause] Free throw. Good. Green. [Applause] So, he hits one of two from the strike. The Warriors have got nothing to go in this quarter. They’re 0 for five. [Applause] Brooks defending outside. Curry tries it from the top of the key. Rebounded by Green. Green’s got a rebound number five here tonight. Brooks outside. There’s the triple. misses again. Two for eight in this matchup. Brooks defending outside Green up and over Dunn and that one hits the back iron. Done. Right side. And that’s a foul called on Stephen Curry. That’s foul number two for him. And just over three and a half minutes played here in the second quarter. Pass to Booker. And here’s Dunn. Green covering. Well, this is why Draymond’s one of the top defenders in the league and right now getting under the skin of the opposing offense. No good. And here are the Suns in the second quarter. They’ve given up just three points looking to get it going. Just five to shoot inside. [Applause] Feder on the way. Rebounded by Dunn. Dunn’s got six rebounds in the game. Back to Booker. Brooks outside. Hey, if you can’t block it, sending him to the line can be the next best thing. shooting two. No good on the free throw. [Applause] That’s off as well. So, he misses both. That’s a a strange trip because typically he’s pretty much money from there. A chance here to catch up with Ally from the sideline. Well, guys, the NBA expanding its footprint through video games. Commissioner Adam Silver said, quote, “There’s an opportunity to capture a new kind of fan who isn’t currently watching our games, but enjoys playing NBA 2K. By learning about the players in the teams, they’re more likely to engage in the live product.” Brian, yeah, it goes hand in hand. Ally, thanks. Phoenix calls timeout. They’re giving up a lot of points in the paint. That’s something they have to address here. Yeah, coach knows that. They know that in the timeout they’re going to hear about it. Make the adjustment. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Now here’s Green down low. Stolen. Oh, what a fast break for the Warriors. And the basket by Curry. Curry’s got seven now in this quarter. Love the old school finger roll. It’s just a graceful move. Going all in. That was the 2K drive. Well worth a second look. With the lead they have, you might think they’d start to settle, but they are still going at the rim strong. Brooks the pass to Williams. Green for three. And the Suns miss again. Golden State has gone one of four from three-point land here in the second. Back to Curry. And it’s Phoenix with the rebound. Here’s Green. Done. Right side. Brooks outside. Five on the clock. Trying to get back on track. This shot won’t fall. They retain possession. And the Warriors miss again. Phoenix has gone 0 for two from outside in the second quarter. Here’s Booker. Tries it from 16 and the Warriors shooting a low 31%. Their offense is lacking with the teardrop. It’s hauled in by the Suns. Dun’s got rebound number eight here already in the game. Brooks outside. Pass to Dunn over Green. Way too many empty possessions for them. Back to Green. [Applause] Brooks outside and the Suns miss again. And not a way to get out of a funk. He needs to be looking for good, solid, more efficient shots. Not the wild one he took there. Outside. Curry takes a three. Rebounded by Dunn. Dun’s got 10 rebounds here tonight. So Oh, active [Applause] to the paint. Here’s Booker. Good setup. Led him to the rack perfectly for the layup. Booker’s got his first basket. Devin Booker will score by any means necessary. that time over decent defense getting the contact and the Warriors call time here. [Applause] Heat up here. Heat. Heat. and it’s a completely new group for the Suns. [Applause] There’s a minute 26 left in the half and too long on the shot. And Butler with the ball up in the air just sniffs that one out and he goes in and rips it down [Applause] and stolen by Green. Kenny, how’d you see it? Kick it off the second half. Golden State has gone 0 for two from outside here in the third over Booker. And it’s Green missing. Green’s gone. Just one of five shooting from the floor. Hey, BA, I mean, you go back and look at last season, he had career highs in rebounds, steals, blocks. I mean, he’s learned how to affect the game. Even when his shot isn’t falling, which is rare, drains the triple. You want to be an all-star guard like Devin Booker, you might want to start hitting your share of triples. [Applause] Brooks defending pass to Green from deep. Knocks it down from distance. And both teams running long range plays that are working well. Both of them look looking towards the three-point line. And I like to see that especially when the results are made buckets and it’s out of bounds. They say it was last touch by Brooks, and you got to be in awe of incredible defensive efforts like this. He’s now 8 for 12 from the floor. Well, he’s too good a finisher to blow that kind of chance, but that’s going to be a wakeup call to the defense. That was another look at our Mobile One drive of the game just a moment ago. And this is exactly what you love to see. Up big, not letting up. Keep on applying pressure to their defense. Now, here’s Brooks. Pass to Green. Can they get it? Pass to Booker and here’s Dunn three-pointer. And again, it’s a Suns missing. Curry against Brooks. The shot misses. Now the Suns take it the other way and the officials will call the illegal screen here. You can get away with one once in a while, but it looked like he wasn’t completely set on that pick. Yeah, quick little lean like that is going to get the ref’s attention. Foul call. [Applause] Right side. Green. Soft touch off the glass. Green’s got five now. He’s a go-to guy for them because he’s that consistent. Time and time again, he delivers right side. Healed on the wing. Curry pass to Heield shoots over Booker and again no good by Golden State. Seriously. Now here’s Curry. Green covering back to Curry. Oh, they need this. And it’s Phoenix with the rebound. Green’s got the glass covered here tonight. That’s 11 boards for him. Brooks finds Booker inside. Here’s Williams. Gets rebounded by Golden State. Pass to heel. Here’s Curry. Curry. Booker defending. Back to Curry from behind the ark. The shot that time not on target. So Phoenix will take it the other way. Outside Green. Here’s Richards. He’s covered by Curry. To the middle. Here’s Booker. can’t cash in the 10-footer. Well, the Warriors shooting a rough 29% from the field here. The teardrop and it’s Devin Booker with a rebound. Booker’s got his sixth rebound on the night. Pass to Green. Here’s Richards and that comes off the assist by Green. Richards has got five now. There’s some easy offense there. Keep finding looks in that area and their shooting percentages tonight are going to be off the charts. Timeout called the Warriors and the other team is running all over them right now. the timeout before the timeout here. Maybe just to cut off the momentum and have a chitchat with the team to settle down. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Here’s Moody. Moody from outside and the three-pointer goes. Moody’s got 10 points in the game. That’s pretty much not how they want to defend the three-point line. Somebody’s got to shadow him out there. Suns keep it alive and he gets that one. Richards has gotten four this quarter. A stronger defensive presence would have saved them two points. It didn’t seem like anybody was really aware there to go and collect that rebound in the possession. Now here’s heel to the inside and it’s going to be a 3second call and the Warriors making a change here. Green is checked in. 55 seconds left to play in the third. Here’s Goodwin. There’s the three. The rebound by Jay. The Warriors shooting a less than average 27% in the third quarter. Healed for three. Richards pulls it in. Richards has got his seventh rebound of the game with that last one. Now, Draymond Green with only one thing on his mind when he gets that close, and that’s collecting two points. Pass to Good one. Six to shoot. All alone. Suns keep it alive. That’s been the difference tonight. They’ve been insanely disruptive on the glass. Here’s O’Neal from deep three-point range. No good on the shot. The Warriors have gotten only two of six attempt. Keeps the drop in the fourth. O’Neal’s got six rebounds now in the game. Pass to Goodwin. He didn’t have his feet planted, man. They’ve been careless with the ball tonight. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] Free throw is good from Collins. [Applause] He’s off on the second. Here’s Goodwin. [Applause] down low. Hey hangs in midair and converts the double clutch layup. You saw he altered his release allowing him to get around his defender and then laid it in. And the call is going to be yes an illegal screen. Stripped it away. Here’s Row. Collins outside, fires from deep, sinks it from distance. And let’s face it, when you’re down this many points, you simply can’t let him get that good of a look. Teachable moment there, lapses like this are back breakers. [Applause] It’s now 5 seconds separating the shot clock and the game clock. Here’s Goodwin. Martin outside. A shot to stop the run. Oh, plenty of contact on that shot. Officials call the foul and he’ll take two free throws now and he drops a first. Good on both [Applause] Collins outside alongside Grant Hill and Brent Barry. I’m Brian Anderson. Also with us tonight, our reporter Ally Leforce. Ally, it’s all yours. Thanks. Well, guys, Dylan Green grew up in Fresno, California. In high school tournaments, he said, quote, “Nobody knew where Fresno was or how hard it is. They think it’s some nice little city, but really it’s not. It’s crazy out there.” But my support system kept me from trouble and just locked in. Brian, well, he stayed in the gym. Ally, thank you. Then it’s Dylan Brooks and it’s Williams in at the five. And it’s the Suns to start out outside. Booker pass to Brooks. Gray. [Music] Golden State has gone one of two from three-point land so far. The three from Curry. Rebounded by Dunn. Pass to Green. Here’s Booker. Here’s Dunn. Not going to go that time. And it’s the Warriors taking it the other way. The Warriors leading. Outside Curry. Pass to Green. Pulls it. Rebounded by Green. Well, he finds some space in that in between gap there. Too bad he can’t release that one on target. Williams finds Booker. Brooks outside. Six on the shot clock now. Green. A shot to stop the drown. It’s not going to go for him. Green with the defensive effort. Perfect timing to rise up and challenge the shot inside. Yeah, not easy to do there. And that’s a guy that you can tell takes every possession defensively very seriously. Now here’s Booker now. quiet so far offensively searching for his first points of the game. Heat. Heat. Yeah, it [Applause] Williams finds Booker. So he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. It’s going to be on Dylan Brooks. Felt like he was getting more and more hungry as he got closer to the rim. Jimmy Butler just tenacious there. And let’s take a moment to get your take, guys, on the scoring so far for the Warriors. They’ve done a great job of establishing an inside presence. Now, that’ll open up more options offensively throughout the remainder of the game. He seems to be in the right place at the right time more often than anybody that’s on the court here tonight. You see that payoff from the strike and he knocks the jumper down. Building a big advantage early with a terrific all-around performance. Well, if I was baking up a lead, I’d add two ingredients. One would be playing smart, the other one playing selfless. 9.4. [Applause] [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Get over it. Now here’s Booker. Well, he hasn’t put up any points yet. in this one. [Applause] Back to Allen. Five to shoot. Fires the three. Called in by Curry. And here are the Warriors now. They’re on an 18-7 run. Pass to Moody. Fires the three. Rebounded by Green. Allen on the wing outside. Green up top. Booker. Here’s Dunn. Rebounded by Green. Green’s got his fourth rebound in this one. Allen defending. Pass to Moody into the lane. Oh, and he brings it down with a two-handed jam. Boy, I like their energy coming in. Terrific execution so far. Well, if there were four or five boxes to check in terms of the game plan tonight, they might have checked six. I mean, they’re doing everything out there. Now here’s Green outside for Booker. Pass to Dun on the wing. Green shoots over Curry. Phoenix no good that time either. Allen defending. Here’s Moody. Three-pointer and the shots off. One for two in this one. And he probably thought he was going to bury that one and he’s headed to the line for two. The shot comes out. And you just can’t afford to give up that kind of look very often. It’s good. And he drew contact on the shot. So, he will go to the line. A three-point play opportunity. And the free throw no good. A minute 50 left to play in the first. And here’s Allen to the inside. Poke loose. Here’s healed. Here’s Moody. So, he’ll take two free throws. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. First one falls for him. both good from the line that time. 102 left in the first. Pass to Moody outside Curry. Well, I think guys BA are getting a little more creative in practicing that. I mean, they they will adjust to the rule. uh is one thing we’ve seen through the years with NBA players. And so in the off season, if you can find a way to take advantage of a half a step more in order to gain advantage on a defender, I’m all for it until they change the rule back. They’ve got Dylan Brooks, Devin Booker out there with Green, and it’s Williams in at the pivot spot, manning the middle. So that’s the lineup on the floor for the Suns. Now here’s Booker. Boy, no scoring yet from him, but that’s likely to change. [Applause] Williams misses and the Warriors shooting just 38%. Shot from the mid-range. Two shots. [Applause] Free throw. Good. Green. So he hits one of two from the strike. The Warriors have got nothing to go in this quarter. They’re 0 for five. [Applause] Brooks defending outside. Curry, tries it from the top of the key. Like a matador Olay. There was no defense. That has to be one of the easier shots I’ve seen tonight. Yeah, feels like Christmas right now. Just gift wrapping points. Now here’s Dun. Well, he hasn’t scored yet, but I’m sure that’ll change. Just five to shoot. Inside screen and there’s the whistle. Heat. Heat. Fire. Brooks, the pass to Williams. Green for three. And the Suns miss again. Golden State has gone one of four from three-point land here in the second. Back to Curry. And it’s Phoenix with the rebound. Here’s Green. Done. Right side. Brooks outside. Five on the clock. Trying to get back on track. Rebounded by Green now. The Warriors with it. They’re on an 11-2 run. Williams grabs the board. Boy, they need something to go to regain some confidence. No question. So Oh, active to the paint. Here’s Booker. Good setup. Led him to the rack perfectly for the layup. Booker’s got his first basket. Devin Booker will score by any means necessary. And that time over decent defense getting the contact and the Warriors call time here. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Yeah. Heat. And it’s a completely new group for the Suns. [Applause] There’s a minute 26 left in the half and too long on the shot. Well, he wanted to keep that shot from getting blocked, but in the process, he gave it no chance of going in because of how unbalanced he was on the fade. Pass to Jay. Fires for three. Offensive rebound. Here’s Moody. And that one goes in as he’s fouled. It’ll be three points if he converts the free throw. [Applause] Phoenix. says gone 0 for three from deep to begin the second. Pass to Allen. [Applause] There’s 49 seconds left in the first half now. The Warriors with it. They’re on a 14-4 run. Gets an open look and hits it. And just executing at a high level. I mean, taking what the defense allows and putting in the work. Basketball IQ is something that gets talked about, but it’s importance to a team showing up here, running plays that turn into scores. Here’s Goodwin. Phoenix no good that time either. And just because he might not be as big as some of the other guys that are on the floor, it doesn’t dissuade him from getting in there and playing fearlessly on the glass. [Applause] Basket counts. 10 points for him. And Butler with the ball up in the air just sniffs that one out and he goes in and rips it down [Applause] and stolen by Green. Kenny, how’d you see it? Their effort on the glass is absolutely key to setting the tone. They wanted to send a message with their physicality and they wanted to dominate on both ends. A really terrific performance thus far. And Shaq, what’ you think about Phoenix and they were gutting a little too much from downtown. Uh they can’t afford to become dependent on that shot. They got to compete the consistent way. I’d like to see them mix it up more in the second half. Thanks for joining us, folks. We’re now just a few minutes away from the start of the third quarter. [Applause] And after a very lopsided first half, we’ll see if things play out a little more evenly in the second. And it’s the Warriors with the ball. Kicking off the second half. Here’s Steve Kur five. Green against Curry. And so he draws the foul. Headed to the line to shoot a pair. You look how Jimmy Butler stays committed on that play, ready to overcome the defender. and still take the shot. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] And he can’t get the first one. [Applause] [Applause] and he sinks the second. [Music] Now done outside Green. Here’s Brooks. Jimmy Butler with a rebound. In transition, here come the Warriors. Outside Booker back to Green. Shoots over Curry and it’s Green missing. Golden State has gone 0 for two from outside here in the third over Booker and it’s Green missing. Green’s gone just one of five shooting from the floor. Booker tipped. Here’s [Applause] an eight-footer and he hits the jumper for two. Fades away. It’s wide right, hits off the rim. And with Booker, it’s not just the scoring, Grant. He does a little bit of everything. Hey, BA. I mean, you go back and look at last season. He had career highs in rebounds, steals, blocks. I mean, he’s learned how to affect the game, even when his shot isn’t falling, which is rare. Drains the triple. Want to be an all-star guard like Devin Booker? You might want to start hitting your share of triples. [Applause] Brooks defending pass to Green from deep. Knocks it down from distance. And both teams running long range plays that are working well. Both of them looking towards the three-point line. And I like to see that, especially when the results are made buckets. And it’s out of bounds. They say it was last touch by Brooks. And you got to be in awe of incredible defensive efforts like this. Showing no signs of giving up this lead. That block sent shock waves into the opposition sails. Can they get it? Phoenix no good that time either. Golden State is gone one of four here in the third from range. Yeah, quick little lean like that is going to get the ref’s attention. Foul called. Richards is checked in for the Suns. And the Warriors with possession. They’re on a 14-5 run. Tries to break his ice. Curry no good. And it’s Phoenix’s ball. Left side. Green. Pass to Williams. Shoots over Curry. And again, it’s the Suns missing. The Warriors shooting only 31% in the game. Outside heel. Now here’s Curry. Shot clock at five. Good. Good. Brooks defending. Good work defensively by Brooks. Phoenix has gone just one of five from three-point range here in the third quarter. Back to Booker. Pass to Richards. [Applause] Oh, poked away down low. [Applause] Right side, Green. Soft touch off the glass. Green’s got five now. He’s a go-to guy for them because he’s that consistent. Time and time again, he delivers. Right side healed on the wing. Curry pass to He shoots over Booker. And again, no good by Golden State. Seriously. Now here’s Curry. Green covering back to Curry. Oh, they need this. And it’s Phoenix with the rebound. Green’s got the glass covered here tonight. That’s 11 boards for him. Brooks finds Booker inside. Here’s Williams. It’s rebounded by Golden State. Pass the Heel. Here’s Curry. Curry. Booker defending. Back to Curry from behind the ark. The shot that time not on target. So Phoenix will take it the other way. Outside Green. Here’s Richards. He’s covered by Curry to the middle. Here’s Booker. Can’t cash in the 10-footer. Well, the Warriors shooting a rough 29% from the field here. The teardrop and it’s Devin Booker with a rebound. Booker’s got his sixth rebound on the night. pass to Green. Here’s Richards and that comes off the assist by Green. Richards has got five now. Now there’s some easy offense there. Keep finding looks in that area and their shooting percentages tonight are going to be off the charts. Timeout called the Warriors and the other team is running all over them right now. the timeout before the timeout here. Maybe just to cut off the momentum and have a chitchat with the team to settle down. Heat. Heat. Here’s [Applause] Moody. Here’s Goodwin still getting warmed up offensively. No buckets yet in the game from him. Just three to shoot over Curry. That one a little long. He just couldn’t finish the job that time. And too bad because it was a nice look. And here’s he a minute 35 left in the third quarter. And so it’s the Golden State Warriors with an almost surefire victory here. Up 32 at the end of the quarter and dominating. They’re communicating well and stringing together stops. All right, stick around. We’ll be right back after this. And one quarter to go in a game that to this point has not been an evenly fought contest. So, it’s Phoenix now. Royce O’Neal is out there with Nick Richards. Then there’s Grayson Allen. And it’s Goodwin in at point guard. So, that’s the lineup on the floor for the Suns. No good that time. So, Golden State will take it the other way. kicks it out to Collins. Back to Green and the shot goes. Now Draymond Green with only one thing on his mind when he gets that close and that’s collecting two points. Pass to Allen. Here’s Goodwin. Here’s O’Neal. Green covering. O’Neal inside. Can’t connect from short range. The Warriors shooting only 31% in the game. The three. They grab their own miss. Moody from outside. And it’s Phoenix’s ball. Pass to Allen. And they call an illegal screen here. Pass to Richards inside. Warriors with the rebound. That is a rarity. When he takes flight, he usually hammers it home. Here’s Moody. Back to Collins. [Applause] deflected [Applause] and off the left side of the rim. It swirls in for him. Where was the D on that one? Just too easy. Golden State has gone 0 for two from outside here in the fourth quarter. Fourth quarter keeps moving along. Three minutes gone by now. Lets it go. Collins with another miss. Collins has gone one of three shooting so far. Allen with it pass to Goodwin. O’Neal’s got six rebounds now in the game. Pass a good one. And here’s Allen. Here’s Goodwin. And they forced the shot clock violation. Great D. Heels checked in for the Warriors. And so it’s Golden State with it. A great fourth quarter. Just get give it up two points. Back to Collins. Clock at six. [Applause] Here’s Jay. Goes up and lays it in nice and easy. And there he is. I mean, attacking the boards, converting off the misses. I mean, trying to do everything he can to secure this W. I just don’t see how you climb back into the game when you’re allowing plays like that to happen. Extra work on the offensive glass. Martin inside, guarded by Heel. Heel with the ball. Now here’s Collins. That shot missing. Now the Suns take it the other way. He didn’t have his feet planted. Man, they’ve been careless with the ball tonight. Yeah, it’s a lack of focus and a lack of discipline. They’re better than this. Oh, they get a hand on it. Oh, and a fast break for the Warriors. Healed from outside. He can’t get that one to fall. [Applause] [Music] Pass to Martin. Puts it up. The Warriors pull it in. Pass to Martin. stripped it away. Here’s Row. Collins outside. Fires from deep. Sinks it from distance. [Applause] And it’s good. With time running down on the shot clock. Thanks. Well, guys, Jaylen Green grew up in Fresno, California. In high school tournaments, he said, quote, “Nobody knew where Fresno was or how hard it is. They think it’s some nice little city, but really it’s not. It’s crazy out there.” But my support system kept me from trouble and just locked in. Brian, well, he stayed in the gym. Ally, thank you. Then it’s Dylan Brooks and it’s Williams in at the five. And it’s the Suns to start out outside. Booker pass to Brooks. Step back shot. That one doesn’t drop. And Golden State will come the other way. He may not be the strongest inside presence in the league, but still he’s got to convert from there. Got to love the effort there. And under size four who can really make things happen with that leaping ability. Now here’s Booker outside. Green pass to Booker. Williams with it. Just five on the clock. Rebounded by Green now. The Warriors with it. The shot. Ooh, great D that time from Dunn. Probably not the shot that was drawn up for that possession, but you can’t pass it up and you can’t knock it down. Brooks outside [Applause] and they’re going to count that bucket and they’ll send him to the line. It could be a three-point play. Gray. [Music] Golden State has gone one of two from three-point land so far. The three from Curry. Rebounded by Dunn. Pass to Green. Here’s Booker. Here’s Dunn. Not going to go that time. And it’s the Warriors taking it the other way. The Warriors leading. Outside Curry. Pass to Green. Pulls it. Rebounded by Green. Well, he finds some space in that in between gap there. Too bad he can’t release that one on target. Williams finds Booker. Brooks outside. Six on the shot clock. Now Green. Heat. Heat. Get it. Yeah. They’ve done a great job establishing an inside presence. Now, that’ll open up more options offensively throughout the remainder of the game. Brooks the pass to Green left side. Williams [Applause] Warriors with the rebound. 9 [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Two shots about two. shooting two. The shot comes out. And you just can’t afford to give up that kind of look very often. It’s good. And he drew contact on the shot. So, he will go to the line. A three-point play opportunity. And the free throw. No good. A minute 50 left to play in the first and here’s Allen to the inside. Poke loose. Here’s Hee. Here’s Moody. 102 left in the first. Pass to Moody. Outside Curry. Little turnar around. The Suns clear it. Richards has got four rebounds now [Applause] from the ark. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. Well, I think guys BA are getting a little more creative in practicing that. I mean, they they will adjust to the rule. That is one thing we’ve seen through the years with NBA players. Well, no scoring yet from him, but that’s likely to change. Williams misses and the Warriors shooting just 38%. Their offense not where they want to be. Offensive rebound and it’s healed missing on the wing. Brooks outside. Booker pass to Green. Brooks outside. And here’s Dunn. Now here’s Brooks over healed. Can’t connect making him one for six from the field. Curry again. It’s Green to the inside. Shot from the mid-range. The shot no good. And Phoenix the other way now. Here’s Brooks and down it goes. Jam that one home. Booker’s allaround game is really coming together. A nice play there pass to heel [Applause] up and over Brooks and misses it off the right side of the rim. Green in the post. Now, growing up, he was always the most talented, but he is a gym rat and a worker, a grinder. So, I bet on him to reach his full potential soon. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. Free throw. Good green. [Applause] So he hits one of two from the strike. The Warriors have got nothing to go in this quarter. 0 for five. Done right side. And that’s a foul called on Stephen Curry. That’s foul number two for him. And just over three and a half minutes played here in the second quarter. Pass to Booker. And here’s Dunn. Green covering. Well, he hasn’t scored yet, but I’m sure that’ll change. Just five to shoot inside. And there’s the whistle. The illegal screen is the call. The screener was leaning a bit right there. His feet may not have been planted. Pretty obvious call by the officials. Got to hold firm or or you’re going to get a call. Commissioner Adam Silver said, quote, “There’s an opportunity to capture a new kind of fan who isn’t currently watching our games, but enjoys playing NBA 2K. By learning about the players and the teams, they’re more likely to engage in the live product.” Brian, yeah, it goes hand in hand. Ally, thanks. Phoenix calls timeout. They’re giving up a lot of points in the paint. That’s something they have to address here. Yeah, coach knows that. They know that in the timeout they’re going to hear about it, make the adjustment. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Now here’s green. down low. Brooks. The pass to Williams. Green for three. And the Suns miss again. Golden State has gone one of four from three-point land here in the second. Back to Curry. And it’s Phoenix with the rebound. Here’s Green. Done. Right side. Brooks outside. Five on the clock. Trying to get back on track. The shot won’t fall. Not himself from range right now, but the only way out of this funk is to keep trying. His playmaking is something to watch. Threading that pass right in there. [Music] Williams defending, lets the three fly. Second chance effort. That one’s wide left. Pretty lax defense there. He’s going to see fewer and fewer chances if he can’t bury those kind of jumpers. They retain possession. And the Warriors miss again. Phoenix has gone 0 for two from outside in the second quarter. Here’s Booker. tries it from 16 and the Warriors shooting a low 31%. Their offense is lacking with the teardrop. It’s hauled in by the Suns. Dun’s got a rebound number eight here already in the game. Brooks outside. Pass to Dunn over Green. The shot by Dunn. No good. Dun’s gone just one of five from the floor. Left side. Curry up and over Brooks. They get the rebound. And terrific work on the offensive glass as he picks up the deuce. He’s got 11.
