😲 THE ASTROS DID WHAT!?😲 Late game heroics from Alvarez, Peña, more lead to win!

Jeremy Pena will lead things off. Astro scoring a run with two hits and a sack fly. And Pñena drills one high and deep to left for. Forget about it. First pitch swinging Jeremy Pñena. It’s number 15 on the year. It’s a 4-2 game. Alenia from Pena. And the adjustment swinging early is paying off for the Astros. The third time through the order is led off by a leadoff bomb off the bat of Jeremy Pñena having himself a home stand. Home run number 15 on the year. Yordon Alvarez takes advantage by moving into third base. So he’s 90 ft away from making it a one-run game on the ground. Yordon’s coming home. McMahon looked there and he threw to first instead and almost threw it away. A nice pick by Ben Rice at first. McMahon and Austin Wells chat about whether he should have come home. That’ll be an RBI ground out for Altuve. And Yordon’s going to bat with a tying run on second and the go-ahead run on first. There’s a line drive into left field for a base hit. Here comes Melton. Here comes the throw by Stanton. We’re tied up at four. Yordan heading to second on the throw that got away at home plate. Astros tied up. Jordan is tipping on four for four. Good to have the big man back in this lineup and this is exactly what he’s in there for to drive in runs. So now it’s up to the guy who is playing his first game since August 20th, Taylor Chal four base is loaded. Walked and the Astros take their first lead five to four. Some great at bats in this inning leading to some walks. Taylor Trmell doing a good job laying off that change up down in that 3-1 count could have been aggressive and tried to hit that ball. Devin Williams on his way out having some words. Got ejected and then Aaron Boon after the pitching change went over and continued to let home plate umpire Brian Walsh know it. How he felt about that strike zone. Now he’s letting Raone De Jesus know about his game yesterday. I’m not sure what’s going on. and he’s letting everybody know how he feels about strike zones these days. Pñena with a home run in the sixth inning. Drew a walk last inning. He’s one for three tonight. He bats with a bases loaded. Pñena with a line drive base hit. One run’s going to score. Holding at third is Walker. It’s now a two-run lead. JP3 makes it 64. That’s a big run for the Astros late. And they continue to charge against this Yankee bullpin. Big swing. doing a great job on a cutter down. Just keeping the hands inside and shooting that the other way, finding some empty space. A great at bat. Well, guess who’s got a chance at a five hit game? He has never in his career had a five hit game. That is going to be a ball called. Here comes another run. 74 Astros. Camilo Dval doesn’t know why he was called for a bulk. Either is Brad Os. It’s a three-run lead. Three-run cushion now and two more in scoring position. A base is open. How much will Dval challenge Yordon Alvarez here in a three-run game? That one bounces away. It’s going to be an 8-4 lead. Here comes Trel. Astro scoring the last two runs on a bulk and a wild pitch. It’s now eight to four. Couple of lug nuts became loose in this game when the Yankees bullpen came in. We told you Abrau is money against everybody, but he struggles against the Yankees. Yankees need one more base runner to bring up the tying run. That one’s driven deep to right field. Going back, Sanchez on the track at the wall. He leaps. See youa. A three-run home run for Bellinger. And the Yankees are still alive. They’re down by one. Well, even with his two strike approach, he can find something that he can handle. Pull it, get it in the air, and get it out of here. So now Jazz Chisum will bat. He’s one for three tonight. Brian Abrau has been a strike away from closing it out. Got to bear down and make a pitch right here. Cold. Third strike. Chisum thought it was just off the plate. He has a big argument with Brian Walsh before he leaves the field. Astros hold on to win it 8-7, but the Astros get a muchneeded win and they are now four games ahead of the Mariners with 22 games to go on the season.

Jeremy Peña, Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez and Taylor Trammell spark the Houston Astros’ comeback victory over the New York Yankees on September 3, 2025.
