We’ve spent the off season really focusing on building the idea of the 2025 Vikings and I know that we’re going to get the best out of this team. Feels good. And this is the time for Kevin, his great staff, our football operations staff to really build the reality of what this team’s going to be like. And I know that we’re going to get the best out of this team. you know, I’m just being where my feet are and that’s right here in training camp. And uh like I said, you know, things have been going great. So, you know, I ain’t got no complaints, nothing bad to say. I I think my situation is a little different. Um I’m not really a guy to compare. Josh Matelis’s contract situation is a very interesting one. You know, you leave that to like the front office and agents, you know, that’s their job is to compare numbers and stuff. My job is just to go out there and play. It’s hard to put a dollar figure on how much Josh Matelis is worth because he does everything. Intercepted. It’s picked off by Joshua Matelis. It’s blocked. It’s Josh Matelis, their special teams ace. Josh Mattelis forced to fumble. In a lot of ways, he is the cheat code that unlocks everything that Brian Flores wants to do on defense. I got you. I need more. He lines up at safety. He lines up at linebacker. He’s a slot corner. Sometimes he’s on the defensive line. You got to look for 44 every time he’s on the field and you got to try to pinpoint him because it’s really difficult. Now imagine what is he worth. Let’s go fellas. Hurry up. Hey, feel that energy. Feel that energy. If they want to go, we’ll go again. We’ll go again until I Vikings does. Let’s go. It’s a hard question to answer. And is there another team that could use his skill sets as effectively as the Vikings and Brian Flores had? When when I know you guys know, trust me, tell us tell us to be coming live. But hey, uh, right now I’m just worried about building these relationships and the chemistry with the team with the relationship that the Vikings have with Josh’s agent, Drew Rosenhouse. I would expect them to be able to thread the needle and make something happen. very excited to highlight and point out to you Josh Matelis has agreed 2A contract extension deserve it more you already know what time it is now you know what time it is you know what time it is moment appreciate you thank you love you coach I’m here uh I love it here and it’s uh great to be here to see you guys and you know to further this relationship. It’s a guy who came in as a sixth round pick, got cut, was on the practice squad, works his way up as a special teams contributor, and then kind of rises out of nowhere to be this defensive force for them. I think that earns you respect in the locker room, but he moves in a way that kind of demands respect with just how authentically he carries himself. He’s the heartbeat of that defense in a lot of ways. Cheers. Somebody’s got to say, “Hey, man. All I got to say is hard work pay off, y’all boys.” I I’d done been in the same seats. Everybody feeling me, feel me? I’d have been in them same seats and hard work pay off, baby. That’s all I got to say. If I was going to describe like a vibe or an aura of a team, this is a team of radical optimism. There’s something under the surface here and and you got to come be here to really see it and feel it. Welcome back from the belly of the Vikings at Beast TCO Performance Center. Yes, training camp is upon us. Minnesota has its summers and people lean into that and they enjoy that time. But when summer starts to kind of feel like it’s coming to a close, it does kind of just naturally transition into football season. And I think people attach themselves to the Vikings. There is nothing better in my opinion in covering this team and in doing this job when you start to see the logos around town, when you start to hear it on the radio, and when you see the passion, energy that people have for this organization. I mean, you can really feel it for this specific training camp. Smell optimism in the air. That’s what you smell every time I come to a training camp. Vikings, a team that’s just loaded with star players, loaded with potential. There is something different about the energy and the anticipation for what might be possible in 2025. My prediction for this season is that the Vikings are going to go all the way. Super Bowl champion. Yeah, we’re beating the Packers both times. Y Justin Jefferson, the Minnesota Vikings won 14 last year. We have a night practice tonight as we begin the reconstruction of a dream. There’s optimism and there’s excitement about something that’s new. This is kind of that reset again where after all of these years, man, can we draft and develop that next great franchise QB? This is what Kevin Oonnell is trying to do. This is it. When he comes down those stairs, the place is going to go nuts. There are people lined up outside of this for about an hour. Like, people are pumped, man, for this. And it’s because this can be a top three or four team. It’s an exciting time, man. Let me tell you something. This football team is having a great camp. Great camp right here. I question every year why people are still sleeping on the Vikings, but they might like it that way because you turn your back on them for one second and they’re running right past you. But I have to say this year just kind of feels different. I think you’re going to be very proud of this team this year. And we’re going to get ready to go to work at Monday Night Football at Chicago. It’s it’s going to come here before you know it. It’s often said there’s only a handful of teams that can can win the Super Bowl. The Vikings are absolutely one of those teams in the NFC. This is the team that was playing for the number one seed in week 18. Well coached, full of stars. Cannot wait to unveil the 2025 Vikings to all of you. And away we go. Appreciate you guys. Love you guys. I go to a lot of NFL training camps where there’s hope in the air and you wonder if it’s genuine. But I think it is in in Minnesota for sure. Oh my god. Why you ain’t here yet, dude? Um, and so yesterday was an absolute whirlwind, but obviously you guys know without me saying it how much this place means to me. The state, the city, um, this organization, the WILS, I got to go to practice, coaches, players. Um, so couldn’t be more excited. There’s nothing I can say to tell you how how excited I am to be back home. Hey, you hot? I I hooped this off season. We got balls. Bryce, me and T-Mac. I was in there hooping. What do you mean? No, we got hoopers. No, I’m telling you, people don’t People play on Minnesota like hockey, hockey, hockey. No, we got hoopers. Hockey players? Yeah. No, we got hoopers. What What else you do in the winter in Minnesota? Change numbers. Yeah, that single digit right there. I like that. Golly. Hey, what do I owe him for this? What I owe him for this? $289. They didn’t even ask me. People still got that 19. I would eat lunch. Mike came to me. I said, “I already know what you finished.” He don’t He don’t even got to say it. Number four, baby. Yes, sir.
