And I’m here to tell you, if you live anywhere outside of the yellow, or even if you do live in the yellow, I got your back covered. Hope to see you guys there. Make sure you’re subscribed and your notifications are on. Let’s dive on in. The week one injury report, it has been released. There is a few names that we need to discuss. For what it’s worth, though, I will go ahead and play a little bit of spoiler. All in all, I think that this is mostly good news in regards to the injury updates. It’s crucial information, very important updates for a lot of key players, but all in all, I will say it is positive news. Let’s start off with the one piece of bad information, one maybe two pieces. Uh Trevor Penning, if you guys remember, he’s been dealing with a turftoe injury. He was the only player with a DNP designation, meaning today at practice on Wednesday, September 3rd, he did not participate. He was the only player on the Saints injury report that had the DNP designation. So, in my opinion, that is really, really good news in the grand scheme of all of the injuries. Obviously, with Trevor Penning, you want to see him get back on the field. If he cannot get back on the field, you will likely see Dylan Raidens be the starting left guard in between Kelvin Banks and Eric McCoy. Now, for the limited participants, just a few names here, only four. Again, I would say for the most part, this is pretty positive news. Alante Taylor, he was back at practice today. He suffered a groin injury, but he has returned. Edge rusher Chase Young, he is on the injury report with a calf injury. We’re going to tell you about that here in just a moment. Uh, defensive tackle Christian Boyd, remember, he suffered a hand injury, had a really, really impressive summer, really good preeason. The Saints were very confident in him, which is why they traded away Colin Saunders. He was back at practice. And Jordan Hen also was a limited participant as well. We’re going to get into full breakdowns and what Kellen Moore had to say about each of these players in just a moment, but I wanted to just kind of explain my thoughts here. I’m really glad to see that for the most part, we got positive injury news. A lot of guys returning to practice, a lot of guys that have been dealing with injuries and you’re progressing in the right direction. Um Trevor Penning still is the big question mark as to whether or not he will be playing week one. If he is good to go, that’s awesome. If he’s not, then that is a little bit concerning. Dylan Raidens just was not very good in the preseason. And granted, you know, in the week two, week one, he did a lot or spent a lot of time at the tackle positions, um, which normally he has spent most of his time at a guard spot. But, um, I am going to go ahead and say I’m glad to see Christian Boyd back. I’m glad to see specifically Alante Taylor back. Chase Young, injury update around him, calf injury. Want to talk about that. But really quickly coming up, we’re going to take a full breakdown um and a full look at the injury report, specific um updates on Alante Taylor, Chase Young, Trevor Penny, Kell Moore spoke about each of these players. Alvin Chimera, we got some updates around him and some information as to how he will be used. And of course, we’re going to talk about what Spencer Rattler said to media. But really quickly, we got to tell you about today’s presenting sponsor, and that is Prize Picks, the number one daily fantasy sports app in the whole wide world. And if you don’t believe me, well, it’s probably because you don’t know about Ball and you’re a Falcons fan. This episode is brought to you by Prize Picks. You and I make decisions every single day. But on Prize Picks, being right can get you paid. I’ll tell you what, my girlfriend would love Prize Picks, considering she’s always right. Don’t miss any of the excitement this season on prize picks where it’s always good to be right. I can show you some of the picks that I’m going to be rolling with uh later on. But I want to just quickly tell you how you play the game. You just pick more or less on two to six player stat projections. If you get your picks right, you could cash in. And so here is the projections that I’m rolling with. One of my favorite things about prize picks is all the fun specials and deals they have going on all year long. Dak Prescott more than half a passing yard. Go ahead and run that. I’m going to go ahead and take some free money on that one. Blake groupy more than one and a half field goals made. Feeling good about uh big leg Blake. And then on top of that, Chris Lave 48 and a half receiving yards. Feels just downright disrespectful. So, I’m going to hammer the more on that one. If you like these picks, you can go ahead and follow them and you can download the prize picks app today and you can try to go win your money. If you do download the Price Picks app, I encourage you to use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Price Pix invented the Flex Play, which means you can still cash out if your lineup isn’t perfect. You can double your money even if one of your picks doesn’t hit. It’s the best way to win cash this football season. Which players are going off? Which ones aren’t? Make your picks in less than 60 seconds and turn your takes and your ball knowledge into cold hard cash all season long. Download the prize picks app and use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Shout out to Prospects. All of that information is in the comments and description of this video. It’s good to be right. All right, let’s take a quick look at some more information on these players who were limited participants at practice. No players were listed as full participants. You’ll see that uh progression throughout the week if these guys do get listed as full participants at practice. Verante Taylor, reminder, he’s been dealing with a groin injury, but Kell Moore gave him a lot of credit, gave him a lot of praise and a lot of props because he’s been working his tail off to get back on the field. Being available and being ready for game one is a huge huge deal and it’s a huge factor in Alante Taylor and in in him being available for week one is going to be a really important thing. Reports out there saying that Alante Taylor says he’s well ahead of his initial timeline for his injury. he being back for him was very very important for week one. So, I’m really excited to see Dante Taylor take the field. We do have some brand new injury updates literally as we’re filming this video on Chase Young. Woo! Woo! Wee! Woo! Um, I’m going to be reading this as I get it. I don’t know what’s happening, but good news, the injury is not considered serious. Reports coming in from Jordan Schultz. Chase Young left practice today with a calf injury that was described to me as quote calf tightness. Young underwent tests and everything checked out fine. The injury is not considered serious. Nick Underh Hill, local media also reporting some pretty positive updates. Chase Young’s injury isn’t anything too serious according to him. Still getting checked and evaluated, but it’s not believed to be anything drastic. And even Kell Moore today when he was speaking with media, he kind of downplayed the significance, calling it a little something. So, you know, for Chase Young, good news that this isn’t a major injury. Definitely going to monitor this. going to keep our eyes on his status because obviously if he’s not good to go then the New Orleans Saints defense is seriously missing out. Now, let’s hone back in on Trevor Penning. Um Kell Moore did say that he’s doing everything that he can to get back out on the field dealing with a turf toe injury. It’s the opposite foot that he dealt with the turf toe injury in his rookie campaign in his rookie season. So, in that regard, hopefully he can return back. Hopefully this isn’t something that kind of lingers and keeps him off the field. Um, but all in all, we like I said earlier, if he is unable to go, I could see Dylan Raidens being the starting left guard for the New Orleans Saints in week one, which in my opinion would be concerning. I’d rather have Trevor Penning out on the field. Just my take. But again, if he’s not healthy, don’t put him out on the field. Now, it is worth monitoring all of these injuries. Obviously, we want to see these guys get healthy and be back out on the field. But I will say there’s still time. Like the game is on Sunday. We’re filming this video Wednesday 4:30 p.m. Central time. There’s still time for these guys to get healthy. I’m not going to sit here and say they’re going to be 100% ready to roll, but you know, hopefully we can see Taylor get fully back and fully ready to roll. Hopefully Chase Young can be fully ready to roll. Hopefully we can get some positive updates for Trevor Penning. Same with uh Christian Boyd and Jordan Howen. Would like to see them be full participants. And I also by that same token, you have a lot of time to still get healthy. you have a a time, knock on wood, for injuries to settle in. So hopefully you can avoid the injury bug and not have to deal with the injuries like you already have because boy oh boy, the injury bug has been bad. Need to spray it with some off this year. Now help me send some good vibes down to the big easy. Type good health in the comment section if you want to see the New Orleans Saints not only walk into week one healthy, but leave the game healthy as well. All right, let’s talk quickly about the offense. Here’s some game plan stuff. Just some, you know, housekeeping things for you to know about this matchup. Kell Moore, he says that Alvin Chimera is going to get a bulk of the work in the run game for the New Orleans Saints. That doesn’t really come as any surprise to me because we obviously know how good of a football player uh Alvin Chimera is and we know how good of a coach Kell Moore is. I mean, we saw Saquon Barkley have the best season of his career in most major categories thanks to Kell Moore. Over 2,000 rushing yards doesn’t happen on accident. And I’m not saying that’s what we’re going to get out of Alvin Chimera, but I do think that he is going to pretty much be the lifeblood and kind of be the the the whole pulse behind the Saints offense. But don’t get it twisted. I think you will see a rotation of Kendra Miller and Devin Neil as well. I’m interested to see if Vis Jones gets some work as a running back, too, or if he’s mostly just a special teams contributor. But I really like Kendra Miller. I think that he’ll get a healthy rotation and his uh blocking has improved, his running has improved. I think that he is a clean, smart, good football player. I want to see him do that all year long and stay on the field and not have to deal with injuries. Devin Neil, love that selection. Really excited about his future. A really, really exceptional running back out of Kansas. All-time leading rusher. Back-to-back seasons with double digit touchdowns. This guy is somebody who can make a big impact in the near future. And look, the offense for New Orleans, it’s no mystery. We’ll go through Alvin Chimera. That’s pretty much it. Like just if you’re going to talk about the Saints offense, number 41 is the reason that it’s staying alive. Don’t want to take anything away from Chris Olive, Rasheed Jah, Jawan Johnson, Devon Vle, Trey Palmer, Mason Tip. I don’t want to take away anything away from the rest of the offense, but no Taesm Hill means it’s all Alvin Chimera. He’s your one absolutely reliable, definite all-star key piece to the offense that you can 100% rely on every single week. that’s your guy. It makes total sense that he is going to get a lot of the action in the run game and he’s going to get a bulk of the work, especially early on in the season. But as the year progresses and as things get healthy, you should see the offense start to open up. You’re going to have a young passer in Spencer Rattler who doesn’t have a ton of experience. You’re going to have a new play caller in Kell Moore, new offensive scheme, a lot of things that are different and are factors and could be hurdles for week one for the New Orleans Saints, but for Alvin Chimera, he’s going to be the guy who’s going to be, you know, trying to hurdle the Saints over every single one of those. Now, with Spencer Rattler, he did speak to media today. He said that practice uh for the team, it was a good first day. They worked in pads and they said that the team was flying around. They love the game plan. they have to execute and they have to keep building because right now obviously they are not a finished product. They got a lot of work to do in order to get to where they want to be. And he even said that they’re just excited to go out there and show the world what we got. I will say this is a year for the New Orleans Saints, which I think you have a really good opportunity to prove a lot of haters and doubters wrong. But I also am not going to sit here and lie to you and say the Saints are definitely winning 10 plus games. Like I think maybe it could happen, but I also think that five, six, seven wins is just as likely. Like there’s a lot of games that are going to be toss-ups. There’s a lot of games that you don’t know what’s going to happen at this point. It’s too early to kind of project into the future and see and and guess what’s going to happen. But I can tell you, not only is this a fresh start for Spencer Rattler, it’s a fresh start for the entire offense. It’s a fresh start for the entire defense. It’s a fresh start for this organization. So, when we’re talking about moving forward, I think that’s what we need to focus on, not just let’s win today. Let’s make sure every single week we’re perfect. That’s not going to happen. Let’s build and get better and develop and grow and turn, you know, a little bit of success into sustained success. It’s a fresh start for Spencer Rattler. He has a good and competent play caller. He has the ability to do some good things with this offense. He has a healthy roster, healthy offensive line, healthy weapons. we finally get an opportunity to see what he’s capable of doing. Is the agenda real? Is the rattlesnake here to stay? Week one will be the first uh week where we really get to start having that conversation. Want to tell you quickly about the Cardinals injury report. Only two names. That’s why we saved it for the end of the video. Will Hernandez, the offensive guard, he’s dealing with the knee injury and limited participant. And John Gaines, the second, he is dealing with a thumb injury. He was a full participant. So, we told you the Saints injury report. We told you the Cardinals injury report. We told you what you need to know about the Saints offense. We provided a lot of crucial updates here on Saints Now by Chat Sports. But I want you before we hop on out of here to predict Spencer Rattler stats in week one. One touchdown, one interception, 150 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions, 300 yards. Who knows? I don’t know. Could be kind of crazy. I want you to have some fun and get creative down in the comments section. Now, a quick reminder to subscribe to Saints Now by Chat Sports if you haven’t already. Reminder, we will be live 1 hour before kickoff. We’re going to go through all of the information that you need to know leading up to kickoff on week one. It’s going to be an absolute blast and I’m really excited to give away a gold Saints jersey on the watch party. Hope to see you guys there. Y’all stay golden and we’ll see you next time. [Music]
