Last night, you saw a little different top of the first inning, eight pitches in both benches cleared. Matt chapman was suspended for one game. I’m sure for the push of Kyle Freeland, which kind of escalated things he has appealed. So when you see the lineup in a few minutes, Matt Chap 22nd start this year, three and 12 at home this year one and eight with the 636. And now Devers. Devers not only has he homered in three straight games, but all three of those home runs have come in the first inning and it seems to be exciting for stepping up to the plate. Not going to be Mr popular here for a while in Denver. Three hits overall. Chops one towards first Bruna has he’ll flip to, here is Willie Adamus. Now with two outs, he is, he hits a ground ball to third. Carros has got it across the diamond and a good start for her Marquez three ground ball outs. Giants left hander Robbie Ray, he’s taking the mound tonight trying to close out the sweep here in Colorado facing for the third time this season. Giants won 20 of his starts. Tyler Freeman leads it off for the Rockies rushed freeman so he’ll go to first Ezekiel Tovar another right handed. There goes freeman pitch taken Bailey’s throw tails and Schmidt almost Schmidt wants him to look , Schmidt grabbed it and swiped. Almost. Not looking at freeman going by. The Giants are going to look at it. What he’s out beauty almost takes Randazzo out after review of the ruling on the field is overturned. The runner is out. San Francisco will retain its challenge Tovar away with a 94 mile an hour. It’s going to be Casey Schmidt calling for it and right on the edge of the outfield grass but a pop out ends the inning. Matt chapman not waiting around , drives one to deep right center field first pitch for chapman in a couple of days. And after what happened yesterday, man, what a cool moment for chapman 450. It’s 1 to 0 Giants and their home run streak rolls along 17 games in a row with a home run for the Giants. The only team that ever has a streak has ever had a streak longer in Giants history, 1947 another high fastball, another swing and miss back to back strikeouts for Robbie Ray. That’s a nice shutdown inning for Robbie Ray. Three up and three down on to the third. It’s 1 to 0. Giants, Matos Bailey and Ramos 89 and one up hard hit and a diving stop but that will be a base hit for Matos. Great effort. Man Tovar showed some range there. 106 off the bat. That ball was smashed. Still putting on Patrick Bailey playing for the third day in a row about it before the game. He said he asked in, he wanted to play Bailey on the ground into right field. He’s got another hit. Matos is going to stop and he fell down. Oh my goodness, slipped and he’s out. So instead of two on nobody out runner at first one out, that is a big and it’s hard to blame him but it’s big out on the bases. Elliott Ramos takes advantage of the defense on the move 1st and 3rd 1 out just keeps on. He’ll make it to third without a throw. Now you got a chance here for a big inning. Even with the out on the bases, Devers, he lines it in the left field base hit and he hit a rocket. Ramos will turn and go to third. Devers will stop at first, it’s 2 to 0. Giants maybe wasn’t quite as hard as his home run the other day, but it sounded just about as loud. Willie with 1st and 3rd still with one out and he hits one to center field. Should be deep enough. Doyle’s got the great arm though. Ramos is going to tag. Here comes the throw headed home and it’s too late. Devers running behind. Nice play by him tags and goes to second. It’s three great at bat again, chapman. The walk and that will get Flores to the plate. Now with runners at 1st and 2nd up the middle. Devers coming around third, he’ll get the green light. The throw is going to third and it hits Chapman. So Devers scores. It’s 40 Giants. It’s almost like chapman was trying to draw that. You got to keep going and that’s exactly what happened to help protect Devers. There have five hits in this inning. Ezekiel to one of the six victims and there’s the Rockies first hit one out single in the four from Tovar this ball toward the gap in left center. It’s going to get down to is going to go first to third. Brent Doyle had a gorgeous second half. This is on the ground. This is the third baseman Goodman to catch a little break there. He was, he would have been interesting. It’ll go as a hit. It would have been interesting if they could have gotten an out because of how well Brenton runs. Carle Caro struck out his first time. There’s a base hit down the left field line. It’s gonna run to the corner is going to have a one out double first extra base hit of the ball game for the Rockies Schmidt throws out Ritter Caros to third two gone. Tyler Freeman will come up freeman tonight hit by a pitch and was caught stealing. This is base hit and Tyler freeman takes advantage. It’s 4 to 2. Robbie Ray is barking a little bit at dan Bolio as he was coming down to get a new baseball. Tyler freeman will say thank you very much trying to go back up again and this time it wasn’t up high enough and Tyler gets his hands up, raises up just enough to get on top of this. And now hunter Goodman coming up with runners at 1st and 2nd base hits, not going to get a collision. Freeman is hurt. He does touch home plate and going to second is hunter Goodman. It’s a one run game. Hopefully Tyler Freeman’s all right. And the same for Patrick Bailey as he’s being attended to. Now you get a hit and the Rockies will have a lead in all likelihood, Jordan back at the dish. Robbie Ray on the ropes back to the, he’s gonna score two ups back and the Rockies have a 5 to 4. Bob Melvin heading to the mound is going to make a pitching chain. Bob Melvin is chirping right now , Dan Bolio, the home plate umpire from the mound, his head was bobbing and he was screaming at him talking about that two strike pitch to Tyler Freeman. That was a strike that they call the ball. Bob lost his mind and I don’t blame him non call of the strike , 34 runs scored after that non call, 15 extra pitches and Bob was pretty demonstrative. It was no secret of what he was unhappy about Patrick Bailey comes up as strong for the right side. He is a good bunter. This could be a spot where the Giants might ask him to bunt. Why drive to right center late break for Schmidt but he’ll get the go sign Mantos right on his heels goes to third. Patrick Bailey ties the game and the Giants are looking for more. Infield is back here for Ramos 1st and 3rd. Nobody out a liner pass to base hit Ramos Monto is in Giants lead 6 to 5. Still nobody out. My goodness, gets a spinner in the middle of the plate and he says, all right, let me show you poolside. Here. Gets the boys right back in team picture here it comes Rocky down 9 to 5 leadoff in the seventh inning. Dr Gilbert, the center fielder for the Giants. Gilbert crushes one down the right field line and gone. Now we get to watch the celebration. I’m so excited. 110 off the bat. Absolute missile. Wow. 407 ft. That was Devers. Like he’s got a little adrenaline flowing right now. He’s got something the bottom of the ninth inning. 10 to 5 Giants and Jt Brewbaker Bill out there and a base hit for kyle, a pinch hit for Ryan Ritter. That’s ball four, Tyler freeman with two on Rockies trying to mount a rally down by five with one out in the to the left base hit for Freeman getting bases loaded one out. Tovar coming up. It is a save situation even with the five run lead if they bring in their closer and that’s what they’re going to do. Ryan Christensen, the bench coach making the change and also tagging up to 90 ft. Mickey Modi two outs, 10, 6 Hunter Goodman, two for four a run in the fifth inning. 81st RB I for hunter. And there’s a gapper left center field third coming home Tyler Freeman to a double good get four RBIs last night. Three tonight. This guy spells them out, doesn’t he tie Rod coming up with Jordan? Got him with the fastball. The Rockies did not make it easy in the ninth inning, but the Giants have won their 10th game in their last 11. They gained ground on just about everybody in the wild card race and they finish off a sweep in Colorado 10 to 8. Final score.
