Los Angeles Dodgers vs Pittsburgh Pirates (09-03-25) MLB Game Predictions, Picks and Best Bets

Okay, let’s get to it. 903 9004. Our boy show Otani and the Dodgers minus 170. Our other boy Braxton Ashcraft and the Pirates plus 150. Total of eight flat across the board at minus 110. All right, Corby Otani is your boy. You’ve got the bat. Otani is my boy coming off his best pitching performance of the year. Threw 87 pitches, struck out nine, looked fantastic. The Pirates had their fun yesterday. They got to beat up on old man Kershaw. They had their fun. Now reality sets in. I took Otani 7ks here at plus 106. And we’re going another Blazing Sevens. And Otani is the first leg of the Blazing Sevens. I almost did the latter to eight. I think it makes sense to take the ladder to eight. I think Otani has 10K upside which is around 7 to1 I think I saw earlier. Uh I like Otani today. Of course you always worry do the wheels fall off but I think he goes out shoves today makes his MVP number minus 20,000. This thing’s over. What do you think here Dodgers Pirates? Yeah the uh the MVP discussion should already be over. Um, Otani is unbelievable. I don’t have to try to try to convince anybody of that. 290 expected batting average. 667x slug like and a 58.6% hard hit rate, which is from my just quick glancing at the baseball board is the highest in baseball. It’s probably not, but it’s it’s definitely close. This is all from your starting pitcher who is um striking out nine on an average day of the week. So, unbelievable. Um, the Pirates have it looked like they’ve tried to like have some form of the case of Yeah, they they they’ve forced some kind of offense, but like every time I see him, I I I’m just not buying into it. Nick Gonzalez has stepped up 272 expecting batting average. You see, if you go look at the baseball, there’s there’s a few guys like a little red expected batting average, but not enough to get the uh not enough to get the wheels turning. I It’s Dodgers are nothing for me here. Um, more important, I bring this up again. We we’ve talked about futures and like as the season goes along, it looks like the Dodgers are more hitittable and they’re more catchable. Remember, Sho Otani, who is one of the best pitchers in the league, is going to be their third best pitcher in this lineup. Like, it’s unbelievable. I’m glad to see that they’re getting healthy. Blake Snow looked pretty good the other day. So, um, Dodgers World Series 330 right now. I’m not batting, but this got to like 380. I talked about this a million times on the show, but I will continue clicking until the World Series. Phil McIll says, “The microman has actually kind of been on a heater. At one point, he was down 30 plus units.” I just like that. Uh I’m the microman now. I’m I’m the micro penis. I think that’s hilarious. I just It’s one of my dreams, Kenny. You know, it’s one of my dreams. Uh what do you think here? Is there any concern here? So, I’m going to take the Otani 7ks. He just threw the 87 pitches. Is there any concern that he regresses and throws fewer now or do they do you think that would be my one concern I guess is that they don’t give him the full the full sevenks and then you have the guy on the other side who we’ve been backing here on the show Ashcraft who’s been pretty solid for us. Is it just safer to go that route? What do you think here? Dodgers pirates skinny. I mean I don’t know that there’s there’s any reason to believe that they’re going to they’re going to scale him down. Like why why like again are they going to let him go out there and throw 110 pitches? No. But like I don’t know that it would they’re clearly intending on him being a part a key part of the rotation come playoff time. And like again I I’m not like the uh like the the the physical therapist here. So I don’t really know like the the optimal way to do this. But to go what 54 80 66 87 pitches again the 66 in the middle there was the game he got rocked in cores. But like he’s he’s gone 80 plus pitches in two of his last three starts. like to ramp him down to what 40 50 again on the way to the playoff front. Like I just I don’t I don’t know if it works like that. So I don’t it’ll piss me off. It’ll piss off I don’t know that there’s any concern you know about about what kind of a leash he has. Um and again it’s uh it’s a good team to do it against but what what is his what’s his base K at? It’s I mean if at 7Ks I just I’m not I’m I’m just I’m I’m just not doing it you know. I just uh even against the Pirates, it just it feels a little too rich for my blood knowing when what he was four and a half plus money just a couple of games ago. Like if you were going to bet Otani Kay, he had to do it before he got the you know the the the leash lucion loosened a little bit and you got a good number. So I’m not going to chase it here. Um I will be chasing uh just another guy that I think is responsible for like half my units this year. like going forward it just I’m gonna just keep betting the guys that win me money and it’s Luis Morales and it’s Braxton Ashcraft. I think I’m four for four on Ashcraft best this year. I I have no reason to not do it again. I did Ashcraft over uh four and a halfks or Ashcraft five plus Ks. Again, pitch count continues to to to trickle up. I I think he is in like the the high 80s range here. Again, not the best matchup against the Dodgers. Um but they do they they strike out plenty. Um and you look at the baseball savant graphics, dude, for Ashcraft. like this is a dude that like you just you just want on your team going forward. I mean, it is just bright fluorescent red virtually every metric that you want to look at. He throws gas. He’s got a really nasty slider. He has an even nastier curveball and just has all the confidence in the world up there. Um I I there’s no reason to not want to back this kid right now. So, I’m I’m riding the hot hand. Ashcraft 5 plus Ks. Boom. There we go. So, for purposes of the show, a couple strikeout props we’re locking in here. I’m going to take Otani 7ks plus 106. I’m fine with that price.
