I know a lot of people are unhappy with the name change for our arena…I’m curious what you think now that it’s been a couple weeks? Is Benchmark a good nickname for it?

A names a name imo. I remember people werent thrilled with Amalie at first but eventually it starts to sound normal. Also, naming rights generally go to the highest bidder. Not saying thats the case here but most of the times it is.
Im more curious as to see what other naming alternatives were out there. Benchmark sounds weird but its better than a corporation that has no ties to Tampa?
I know that Publix and Reliaquest were never in the running for the naming rights but felt those could be good options given their ties to Florida and Tampa.
The good old Amalie Ice Palace 😂. I agree with you though, a name is a name. However, I do have many good memories from back when it was called the prior names in the past. Looking forward to making new ones at Benchmark. Go Bolts!

I’ll probably still call it Amalie for a year and continually correct myself. But “the bench” is fine. Will be even funnier if the team sucks, good coping mechanism.

I personally don’t care. Money is good for the team. I’ll call it the ice palace no matter what.
