Purple Row is celebrating it's 20th Anniversary this season, and with no Rockies game scheduled for this afternoon, we figured it might be fun to open ourselves up for questions from Rockies fans here on Reddit!

So ask us anything! Please give us some time to provide answers, as our staff all have regular day jobs. If you have a question for a specific writer, we will do our best to track them down and get an answer.

Post-AMA Update:

Thank you so much to everyone who had questions for us! We will absolutely do this again sometime! If you still have questions, feel free to post them still and we will do our best to answer!

  1. Any reason for optimism with Walker Monfort’s increased involvement, or should we expect more of the same?

  2. How….do you do it? How exhausting is it covering a losing franchise year in and year out?

  3. Would you recommend adopting the Rockies as a second team for someone who moved here within the last few years?

  4. Who else do you guys follow second to the Rox? Any fun teams you enjoy that play real MLB-caliber baseball?

  5. Why haven’t the Rockies embraced or even discussed unorthodox team building strategies? e.g. Leaning super hard into power hitting and offensive output, investing in young local talent to develop pitching skills specifically for Coors, scouting for blazing speed to cover our massive outfield

  6. What’s your favorite non-game related thing to do at Coors Field? What’s your favorite food item to get?

  7. Favorite beer you’ve had at a ballgame? I had an Atwater Blonde in Detroit last year and it was pretty good.

  8. No question. Just showing my respect. I often wonder how ya’ll do it. I get it tho, I tune in for every game, it’s torture, but I like it. I can’t explain. Go Rockies!

  9. Is the lackluster analytics department real or myth? And don’t think the “best” analytics actually matters?

  10. Do you see Warren Shaeffer standing a good chance to get the full time manager spot or will the focus be elsewhere? I think he deserves a shot on a short leash. While the team has been bad still, they were marginally worse before he stepped in. Seems to believe in the young guys too.

  11. When do you see the Rockies being willing to start spending money on free agents again? I’m glad they’ve started shifting to letting the prospects play, but at some point you have to go out and get proven guys if you want to turn the corner.

  12. Do you have any idea what the Rockies will do with the manager position for next season, and what do you hope they will do.
