ESPN Has CRAZY Predictions For Tennessee Titans In 2025 NFL Season

[Music] Football is being played tonight. No, it’s not the Tennessee Titans. It is the Philadelphia Eagles against the Dallas Cowboys. But it is it’s exciting opening kickoff for the NFL. Can’t wait three days until we get to see Cam Ward on the field. Welcome into Titans Today by Chat Sports. I am your host Brett Alpurn. ESPN, they made some wild, outlandish predictions for the Tennessee Titans, and they’re a little questionable to me. They also ranked every single one of the rosters of the Titans and every team in the NFL. So, let’s get into it. Their playoff odds, ESPN’s given them a 15.6% chance. I kind of agree with that. AFC South odds, I would kind of go a little bit more than 9.3% just because the AFC South’s kind of trash. you’re dealing with the Colts, the Jags, which two teams I don’t expect to be fighting for playoff spots. And then it’s the Texans. So, if you are second place, it’s a good chance. Projected win 6.7. I have them winning about seven games. So, that’s right on. Straight to schedule, fourth easiest. That helps the Titans and the 2024 record. You guys know all about that. It was three and 14, which is why you got Cam Ward and the number one overall pick. But ESPN ranked the Titans 31st in the NFL. And I just completely disagree with that with what Mike Borgani did for this team. He improved it a ton. He improved every part of the roster. You helped the safety room. You helped the linebacker room with Cody Barton. You specifically helped out this offensive line. Like the Browns are ranked higher. The Jets are ranked higher. The Panthers are ranked higher. I don’t agree with ESPN in the slightest on some of the teams that were ranked ahead of the Tennessee Titans. Put them at least in the 20s, man. Come on. What are we doing? But this is ESPN and ESPN Plus is $120 a year, but I’m giving it to you guys for free. A goose egg. So, if you like the content, if you want content that you have to pay for, but you get it free right here. That’s why you subscribe to the channel. We’re currently at 12,278 subs. And I put a little number for you guys. 222. Let’s get to 12,500. Subscribe to Titans today. Let’s get into the biggest strength that ESPN listed for Tennessee and that is their offensive line. And we know how bad the offensive line line was last year and that’s kind of why Will Lev struggle. That’s why Mason Rudolph struggled a bit, but this was increased a ton. You gave Dan Moore Jr. that tons and tons of money. Peter Scrsky still here. Lloyd Kushberry solid center. You bring in the veteran Kevin Zyler over from Detroit and JC Laam gets to go from left tackle back to his original right tackle spot. I don’t think it’s the biggest strength, but I do think it’s improved. Here’s what Terron Davenport, the ESPN reporter for Tennessee had to say. Said Mike Bonzi wanted to invest in the trenches. Of course, when you’re bringing in Cam Ward. So Tennessee straightened both tackle spots by signing Dan Moore Jr. and flipping JC Laam to the right side. Kevin Zitler helped shore up the interior next to Laam. The Titans now have two or two day one picks in Laam and Peter Scransky on the line and two free agents and lucrative deals and more and Cushen Barry to go alongside Zitler who’s a proven veteran. I do like this offensive line and what they have, but I think that your biggest strength and it’s a no doubter, it’s Jeffrey Simmons. Like this is your allpro on the team. This is the best player on the team without a doubt. Undisputed, undefeated, never lost. Like look at his stats from last year. This is for a defensive tackle. PF grade was 80, 76 tackles, 11 for loss, five sacks. Like this is your allp pro defensive tackle. And you’re going to tell me that he is not the biggest strength. He is getting infused with Cam Ward, making each other better. He’s making this whole entire team around it better. And not only he came into training camp in better shape. He lost about 20 pounds. So, you’re going to tell me that yeah, the offensive line is good, but no doubt the biggest strength on this Titans team. And I’m projecting I’m predicting that Simmons is going to be an allpro once again. You’re telling me that he’s not the biggest strength? Give me a break, ESPN. So, I’ll ask you guys, do you agree with me or do you agree with ESPN? Is Jeffrey Simmons the Titans biggest strength on this roster? Go down in the comments section, give me a Y for yes or give me an N for no. This one I kind of agree with. A little bit different, but they listed the biggest concern. That’s Brian Callahan on this team. And we know about the head coach. And let’s be honest, he’s on the hot seat. This is what Davenport had to say about Callahan. The once highly soughta head coach struggled last season. I mean, he came over from Cincinnati where he coached Joe Burrow and was also part of that Super Bowl making team. But he is clawing to find a way. Callahan has to show that he can effectively call plays. and out Fox opposing coaches. That would be difficult with a roster that doesn’t have a lot of premier players. The front office is willing to show patience with Callahan because he believes he can get it right. Developing number one pick Cam Ward will be the key. And we know that during the off season that they thought about giving him the boot. They thought about just kind of wiping clean, getting cleaning house, getting rid of Callahan. And they decided, Mike Bonzi decided we’re going to keep him. We’re gonna see for one more season if he can get this done. But he’s on a very very short leash. My predict my prediction if he starts off the season not that great with this with how easy the schedule is when you’re not playing those good of a teams. If he goes like two and five or one and six on this for the first couple weeks, he’s fired. He’s out of here. And they’re going to easily go to a new head coach. bring in someone that Mike Borggoni wants and can hire because he did not hire Brian Callahan. Yeah, he’s getting one more chance and that’s what the Titans believed in, but overall, you got to think if they struggle to start the year, it is not going to be good for Brian Callahan. Going to get to the rest of the ESPN projections or predictions, but first I got to tell you about our sponsor of today’s show, and that is brought to you by Prize Pix. It’s good to be right. So, now they kind of talked about just a quick QB stat on what needs to happen for the Titans to be successful. And let’s be honest here, it all relies on Cam Ward. And Matt Bowen, he said this of ESPN. He said this about Cam Ward. He’s a big armthrower with movement and skills with creativity to work outside of structure. Ward is a solid fit for the Titans offense. He’s a top target and receiver Calvin Ridley. Tight end Shika Kako can produce after the catch. And the team signed veteran receiver Tyler Lockett. And I’ll say this, like we’ve seen players like CJ Stout a couple years ago. We’ve seen players like Jaden Daniels, you can go from worst to first as long as your quarterback plays well. So, if Cam Ward can play well, take care of the football, not commit turnovers, and specifically find Ridley, they will see success this season. Now, I don’t know if that’s guaranteed, and it all kind of depends on just if the offensive line can hold up, but obviously ESPN thinks that uh this offensive line is going to be really good because their bold prediction is that Cam Ward will have under 5% sack rate. And that is absolutely kind of crazy to think. Last year with a bad offensive line, the sack rate was one of the worst in the NFL. It was 6.34%. And then you got to go back a couple years and go back a couple years and go back a couple years to 2020. That’s the last time that the sack rate was under 5%. And yeah, it was not under 5% when they went to the AFC Championship game. And you see the offensive line, it’s good. I like Dan Moore. I like JC Laam. But then going back to that sack rate, they’ve had it once since 2020. You have to go back even further all the way to 2011 when the last time they had a sack rate of under 5%. Can Mike Borzi, just with the accusitions that you had in just one season, be able to produce a sack rate of under 5%. I like Cam Ward. I think he was great at avoiding sacks at Miami, but it’s a lot different from Miami going into the NFL. He might be scrambling a little bit, but I hope this offensive line could hold up. I don’t know about 5%. But we’ll have to see. I I think it might be like 5.5%. What’s your confidence level on the offensive line? Mike Banzi revamped it and he made an emphasis on it. Give me a one through 10. One you don’t think it’s confident at all. you think, “Oh god, here’s another year or 10 that this is going to be one of the best in the NFL.” That was all everything that ESPN had, their bold predictions and everything. It’s 120 year for ESPN Plus and it’s zero for Titans today. So, make sure you hit that sub button and as always, tighten up. [Music]
