Royals’ Carter Jensen makes his first MLB start today! Get to know Kansas City’s No. 2 prospect 👑

I was speechless. Like I still like have trouble putting into words what it felt like. Shock, excitement, happiness. And it didn’t really settle in until my first couple games and I was looking at myself. I look down, I’m like, I have royals across my chest. This is insane. I feel like every step of the way getting closer to the big leagues, like it’s like feels more and more real every kind of every step along the way. Number one favorite was probably Salvador Perez. Growing up in Kansas City, it’s kind of ironic now being with the Royals in the organization. There was a bunch like Alex Gordon, Mike Mustakis, guys like that. But Salvi is probably always my favorite. This past year it was like all business. We worked together every day. He’s helped me out with different things. So it was kind of like he turned into my mentor a little bit during spring training. So it’s cool experience for sure. So I went to a game and the parade. I can’t remember which game it was. Home game obviously, but went there. We ended up winning which was a crazy experience. The parade was awesome. It was just like you couldn’t move. There were people in trees. I remember it being a super super cool experience. And everybody got school off that day and like the whole city.
