Do we really think his teammates would’ve voted him captain again this year if they had as strong of feelings about this as most of you on here do?

  6. Fuck I hope he doesn’t miss the install of the very complicated DL assignments 1) stop the run 2) get the QB. These types of roles can be very hard for inexperienced 14 year player to pick up on

Both can be correct, but yes as usual many on here jump from 5 mph to 150 mph immediately. Just wait for first play in the game thread as evidence! 🤣

  12. I’m sure Cam’s agent leaked that to Schefter, otherwise he wouldn’t be reporting about it. It’s his last-ditch effort to re-negotiate something before the season. If he decides to hold out and not play, that’ll be the end of his career.

  13. missing a thursday practice in september just totally invalidates a careers worth of work and dedication and playing through injury and being the best representative for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I’m burning my jersey as we speak

  15. In 2023, Cam missed a Thursday practice due to a stomach issue (not necessarily rest related), and in 2022 Cam missed a Thursday practice but still practiced on a Wednesday. So no, Cam has never taken two rest days off when healthy.

  16. I think it’s a little disingenious of you, OP, to put it all on the fans for needing to chill… The fans can only be this way in response to Cam’s behavior in the first place. He is the one who skipped team practices. He is the one who talked about maybe not playing week 1 on his podcast. Just because this instance may be just a vet rest day doesn’t mean the fans are the unreasonable ones here.

  17. He practiced yesterday and is listed on the injury report today as not injury related with a vet resting day, which happens all of the time for a guy like him. Our local sports media (like most local sports media) is generally terrible.

  20. Cam brought this on himself with his vague ‘we’ll see’ bullshit. He could very easily shut down the speculation and noise but he’s choosing not to do so.

  25. sure let’s ignore the context that he last second in preseason declared he was holding out due to contract issues despite signing his contract just last year and saying “you either want to be a steeler or you don’t” like 3 months ago.

  26. To be fair, he wasn’t threatening not to play week 1 in 2022 or 2023. It might be no different than those years, but it’s understandable for people to read into it as they wish given the current circumstances. If he holds out week 1, I hope you expect people to tell you that you under reacted.
